Caitanya-Bhāgavata, Antya-khaṇḍa 7.88

tathāhi (bhāg 10/47/63)—

vande nanda-vraja-strīṇāṁ pāda-reṇum abhīkṣṇaśaḥ
yāsāṁ hari-kathodgītaṁ punāti bhuvana-trayam

Translation: “I repeatedly offer my respects to the dust from the feet of the women of Nanda Mahārāja’s cowherd village. When these gopīs loudly chant the glories of Śrī Kṛṣṇa, the vibration purifies the three worlds.”

Jayapatākā Swami: So, normally the Vrajavāsīs would glorify Kṛṣṇa with loud vibrations and appreciations, and simply by hearing the glories of Kṛṣṇa the universe is purified . We request that everybody chants Hare Kṛṣṇa and sings the glories of Kṛṣṇa.

Caitanya-Bhāgavata, Antya-khaṇḍa 7.89

ei-mata ye vaiṣṇava karena vicāra
sarvatra śrī-gauracandra karena svīkāra

Jayapatākā Swami: In this way, whatever mood a Vaiṣṇava develops is always accepted by Lord Gauracandra.

Caitanya-Bhāgavata, Antya-khaṇḍa 7.90

anyo’nye bājāyena īśvara-icchāya
hena raṅgī mahāprabhu śrī-gaurāṅga-rāya

Jayapatākā Swami: Loving quarrels were held between devotees, by the Supreme Lord’s transcendental will, such are the amusing pastimes enjoyed by Lord Gaurāṅgarāya Mahāprabhu.

So, sometimes very advanced devotees are engaged in mutual quarrels, so Lord Caitanya would like to see the devotees manifest their attachment to Him.

Caitanya-Bhāgavata, Antya-khaṇḍa 7.91

nityānanda o gauracandrera ānanda-kadalera marma nā bujhiyā kāhārao pakṣa grahaṇapūrvaka apara-īśvarera nindāya bhīṣaṇa aparādha—

kṛṣṇera kṛpāya sabe ānande vihvala
kakhano kakhano bāje ānanda-kandala

Jayapatākā Swami: By Lord Kṛṣṇa’s mercy everyone was overwhelmed in transcendental ecstasy, sometimes in rare occasions, loving quarrels happened.

Caitanya-Bhāgavata, Antya-khaṇḍa 7.92

ihāte ye eka īśvarera pakṣa haiyā
anya īśvarere ninde, se-i abhāgiyā

Jayapatākā Swami: Whoever took side of one Supreme Lord, and critized the other form of the Supreme Lord is very unfortunate.

Sometimes there will be loving quarrels between Lord Caitanya and Lord Nityānanda, these are transcendental and not to be misunderstood. But if someone would criticize one of the Lords, that is something very unfortunate.

Caitanya-Bhāgavata, Antya-khaṇḍa 7.93

bhaktagaṇa īśvarera abhinna aṅgapratyaṅga—

īśvarera abhinna—sakala bhakta-gaṇa
dehera ye hena bāhu, aṅguli, caraṇa

Jayapatākā Swami: All the devotees are nondifferent from the Supreme Lord, as the body's arms, fingers, and feet are nondifferent from the body.

Purport by Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura: Although the Lord is one, the devotees are considered His bodily limbs and sublimbs. No one is independent. The concept of separation attributed to the living entities who are covered and thrown by the influence of māyā is removed when one sees things in proper perspective. When the activities of the limbs and sublimbs are in complete harmony with the owner of the limbs, there is no question of separation. Yet for the sake of variety they appear to be separate. The devotees of the Lord are inclined to the service of the Lord. They have no propensity for material enjoyment, because they do not maintain the conception of separation from the Lord.

Jayapatākā Swami: So, as Śrīla Prabhupāda had expressed, he wants all his followers, gṛhasthas and others to be paramahaṁsas. Actually to have the desire to please Kṛṣṇa. People in the material world have lusty desires to please their own senses but the pure devotees want the Supreme Lord to be pleased. That gives the devotees the sublime bliss, transcendental happiness.

Caitanya-Bhāgavata, Antya-khaṇḍa 7.94

tathāhi (bhāg 4/7/53) —

Translation: “A person with average intelligence does not think the head and other parts of the body to be separate. Similarly, My devotee does not differentiate Viṣṇu, the all-pervading Personality of Godhead, from anything or any living entity. In other words, he considers all living entities as simultaneously one with and different from the Absolute Truth.”

Jayapatākā Swami: So, this is the philosophy of acintya-bhedābheda-tattva, simultaneously and inconceivable oneness and different. This is the philosophical basis of Lord Caitanya's movement.

Caitanya-Bhāgavata, Antya-khaṇḍa 7.95

śrī-kṛṣṇa-caitanyai sarveśvareśvara—

tathāpiha sarva-vaiṣṇavera ei katha
sabāra īśvara—kṛṣṇa-caitanya sarvathā

Jayapatākā Swami: All the Vaiṣṇavas say this one thing - the Supreme Lord of everyone is Lord Śrī Kṛṣṇa Caitanya.

Although Lord Caitanya is sarveśvareśvara, that means that, the Lord of the Lords, He is the Supreme Lord of all the subordinate Lords.

Caitanya-Bhāgavata, Antya-khaṇḍa 7.96

niyantā pālaka sraṣṭā durvijñeya tattva
sabe mili’ ei mantra gāyena mahattva

Jayapatākā Swami: Everyone unitedly says this, the Supreme Lord is the controller, maintainer, creator, and inconceivable Truth. This is their descriptions of the Lord's glories.

Purport (by Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura): In Madhvācārya’s commentary on Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam (1.1.2) he quotes the Skanda Purāṇa as follows:

“Lord Hari is the ultimate cause of the creation, maintenance, and annihilation of the cosmic manifestation. One knows this becomes liberated, and one who does not remains entangled.”

See Madhvācārya’s commentary on Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam (2.3.1-3, 2.4.21, and 3.2.22) as well as Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam (10.16.49, 10.57.15, and 10.63.44).

Jayapatākā Swami: So, everything is confirmed by these commentaries of Madhvācārya on these studied verses.

Caitanya-Bhāgavata, Antya-khaṇḍa 7.97

āvirbhāva haiteche ye-saba śarīre
tāṅ-sabāra anugrahe bhakti-phala dhare

Jayapatākā Swami: The Lord appeas in different bodies through His mercy, the fruit of this is receiving pure devotion.

Caitanya-Bhāgavata, Antya-khaṇḍa 7.98

sarva-jñatā sarva-śakti diyāo āpane
aparādhe śāsti o karena bhāla-mane

Jayapatākā Swami: Although the Lord awards all knowledge and strength and the potency personally, simultaneously He awards punishment to those who commit offenses, He does this for their benefit.

Caitanya-Bhāgavata, Antya-khaṇḍa 7.99

iti-madhye viśeṣa āchaye dui prati
nityānanda-advaitere nā chāḍena stuti

Jayapatākā Swami: In the amidst of this, it is special to note that between the two Lords, Lord Nityānanda and Lord Advaita, He never gave up glorifying Them.

So, Lord Nityānanda and Lord Advaita, They were so special that Lord Caitanya would always glorify Them in any circumstance.

Caitanya-Bhāgavata, Antya-khaṇḍa 7.100

koṭi alaukiko yadi e dui karena
tathāpiha gauracandra kichu nā balena

Jayapatākā Swami: Even if These two, Lord Nityānanda Prabhu and Lord Advaita Ācārya, exhibit uncommon behavior millions of times, still Lord Gauracandra would not say anything.

Caitanya-Bhāgavata, Antya-khaṇḍa 7.101

ei-mata kata-kṣaṇa parānanda kari’
avadhūta-candra-saṅge gaurāṅga śrī-hari

Jayapatākā Swami: In this way, sometimes having transcendental bliss, Lord Nityānanda the Avadhūtacandra, would meet together, spend time with Lord Gaurāṅga Śrīhari.

Caitanya-Bhāgavata, Antya-khaṇḍa 7.102

śrī-gaurāṅgera nijavāsa sthāne pratyāvartana —

tabe nityānanda-sthane haiyā vidāya
vāsāya āilā prabhu śrī-gaurāṅga-rāya

Jayapatākā Swami: Then Lord Gaurāṅga took leave from Lord Nityānanda Prabhu and left the place and returned to His residence, Prabhu Gaurāṅgarāya.

So, after the Lord Gaurāṅgarāya had performed some transcendental pastimes with Avadhūtacandra Nityānanda rāya, He took leave and went to His residence. So together They shared very confidential pastimes, and this only the two of Them who could understand fully. So, we had a little look into the intimate relationship between Lord Gaurāṅga and Lord Nityānanda.

Thus ends the chapter entitled, Lord Gaurāṅga and Avadhūtacandra, Śrī Nityānanda, Spend Some Time Together in Great Ecstasy, Part 2
