Under the section: Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu Accepts Prasādam from His Devotees

Caitanya Bhāgavata, Antya-khaṇḍa 9.49

hariṣe karena patnī-sahite sevana
pāda-prakṣāliyā dena candana vyajana

Jayapatākā Swami: Along with His wife Advaita Ācārya happily washed Śrī Caitanya’s lotus feet and offered Him sandalwood pulp and fanned Him.

Caitanya Bhāgavata, Antya-khaṇḍa 9.50

vasilena gauracandra ānanda-bhojane
advaita karena pariveśana āpane

Jayapatākā Swami: Gauracandra then happily sat down to take prasāda and Advaita Candra personally served Him.

So, all the desire of Advaita Ācārya to have the Lord alone came true and taking this opportunity He personally served Lord Caitanya

Caitanya Bhāgavata, Antya-khaṇḍa 9.51

yateka vyañjana dena advaita hariṣe
prabhu o karena parigraha prema-rase

Jayapatākā Swami: Lord Caitanya Mahāprabhu accepted what was offered to Him, with the loving mellow by Advaita Ācārya. Advaita Ācārya offered vegetable preparations very joyfully.

Caitanya Bhāgavata, Antya-khaṇḍa 9.52

yateka vyañjana prabhu bhojana karena
sakalera kichu kichu avaśya eḍena

Jayapatākā Swami: Lord Caitanya would take each vegetable preparation but in all the offerings He would leave a little, little remnant uneaten as mahā-prasāda.

Purport: By His Divine Grace Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura Śrīla Prabhupāda): The word eḍena means “saved as remnants” or “left behind.”

Caitanya Bhāgavata, Antya-khaṇḍa 9.53

advaitere gauracandra balena hāsiyā
“kene eḍi vyañjana, jānaha tumi ihā?

Jayapatākā Swami: Gauracandra then smiled and said to Advaita Ācārya, “Do You know why I am leaving these remnants? Do You know?”

Caitanya Bhāgavata, Antya-khaṇḍa 9.54

yateka vyañjana khāi, cāhi jānibāra
ataeva kichu kichu eḍiye sabāra”

Jayapatākā Swami: “Each vegetable preparation I eat, I want to know what I ate, and afterwards I leave a little behind..”

Caitanya Bhāgavata, Antya-khaṇḍa 9.55

mahāprabhura advaitera randhana-praśaṁsā—

hāsiyā balena prabhu,—“śunaha ācārya!
kothāya śikhilā eta randhanera kārya?

Jayapatākā Swami: Lord Caitanya smiled as He asked, “Listen Advaita Ācārya where have You learned to cook all these preparations?”

So, Lord Caitanya Mahāprabhu was praising Advaita Ācārya for His preparations.

Caitanya Bhāgavata, Antya-khaṇḍa 9.56

āmi ta’ e-mata kabhu nāhi khāi śāka
sakali vicitra—yata kariyācha pāka”

Jayapatākā Swami: “I have never before eaten this type of śāka, everything is wonderful whatever You have cooked!”

Caitanya Bhāgavata, Antya-khaṇḍa 9.57

bhakta-vāñchākalpataru śrī-gaurāṅga—

yata dena śrī-advaita, prabhu saba khāya
bhakta-vāñchā-kalpa-taru śrī-gaurāṅga-rāya

Jayapatākā Swami: Whatever Śrī Advaita Ācārya gave, Lord Caitanya ate it all. Śrī Gaurāṅga raya is like a desire tree, fulfilling all the desires of His devotees.

Caitanya Bhāgavata, Antya-khaṇḍa 9.58

dadhi, dugdha, ghṛta, sara, sandeśa apāra
yata dena, prabhu saba karena svavīkāra

Jayapatākā Swami: Lord Caitanya accepted the yogurt, milk, ghee, cream, incomparable sandeśa, and accepted everything else offered by Advaita Ācārya.

Caitanya Bhāgavata, Antya-khaṇḍa 9.59

bhojana karena śrī-caitanya-bhagavān
advaita-siṁhera kari’ pūrṇa manas-kāma

Jayapatākā Swami: In this way the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Śrī Caitanya took His meal and He fully satisfied the desires of Advaita siṁha.

Lord Caitanya, He likes to satisfy the desires of His devotees to serve Him. In this way, His devotees are especially pleased to serve Lord Caitanya

Caitanya Bhāgavata, Antya-khaṇḍa 9.60

advaitera indrastava—

paripūrṇa haila yadi prabhura bhojana
takhane advaita kare indrera stavana

Jayapatākā Swami: Completely full, Lord Caitanya finished His meal. At that time, Advaita Ācārya began offering prayers to Lord Indra.

So, Advaita Ācārya, He wanted to have Lord Caitanya come alone because He was afraid if all the other sannyāsīs came, Lord Caitanya may not take all the prasāda. But Indra, he brought rain and storm and all the other sannyāsīs left. His desire for the Lord to come alone was fulfilled, so He was thanking Lord Indra.

Caitanya Bhāgavata, Antya-khaṇḍa 9.61

kṛṣṇasevāra ānukūlya karāya indrera vaiṣṇavatva o pūjyatva—

“āji indra, jāniluṅ tomāra anubhava
āji jānilāṅa tumi niścaya ’vaiṣṇava’

Jayapatākā Swami: “O My dear Indra, today I know about your realization. Today I understand that you are certainly a Vaiṣṇava.

Caitanya Bhāgavata, Antya-khaṇḍa 9.62

āji haite tomāre dibāṅa puṣpa-jala
āji indra, tumi more kinilā kevala”

Jayapatākā Swami: “From today onwards, Lord Indra, I will offer you water and flowers, for today Indradeva, you have certainly purchased Me.”

Caitanya Bhāgavata, Antya-khaṇḍa 9.63

prabhu-kartṛka advaitera indrastavera kāraṇa-jijñāsā—

prabhu bale,—“āji ye indrera baḍa stuti
ki hetu ihā? kaha dekhi mora prati”

Jayapatākā Swami: Lord Caitanya inquired, “Why are You offering big prayers to Lord Indra today? What is the reason? Please tell Me why?”

Caitanya Bhāgavata, Antya-khaṇḍa 9.64

advaitācāryera gopana karibāra ceṣṭā—

advaita balena,—“tumi karaha bhojana
ki kārya tomāra ihā kariyāśravaṇa”

Jayapatākā Swami: Advaita Ācārya said, “You just eat. For what reason You want to hear about all about this.”

So, Advaita tried to keep the reason a secret.

Caitanya Bhāgavata, Antya-khaṇḍa 9.65

antaryāmī gaurasundarera ukti–daiva-duryoga advaitācāryera icchāyai saṅghaṭita —

prabhu bale,—“āra kene lukāo ācārya!
yata jhaḍa-vṛṣṭi—saba tomāri se kārya

Jayapatākā Swami: Lord Caitanya said, “Why do You try to hide the truth, Advaita Acarya? The rain and wind that came were all certainly Your doing.”

Caitanya Bhāgavata, Antya-khaṇḍa 9.66

jhaḍera samaya nahe, tabe akasmāt
mahājhaḍa, mahāvṛṣṭi, mahāśīlāpāta

Jayapatākā Swami: “This is not the season for strong winds or strong storm. Yet suddenly strong winds and a big storm, intense rain and a great hailstorm suddenly appeared.

Caitanya Bhāgavata, Antya-khaṇḍa 9.67

tumi icchā kariyā se e saba utpāta
karāiyā ācha, tāhā bujhila sākṣāta

Jayapatākā Swami: By Your will, all these disturbances were arranged by You, I have directly understood that.

Caitanya Bhāgavata, Antya-khaṇḍa 9.68

ye lāgi’ indrera dvārā karāilā ihā
tāhā kahi ei āmi vidita kariyā

Jayapatākā Swami: For that reason, you had Lord Indra to do all this. I say this because I have understood it.

Caitanya Bhāgavata, Antya-khaṇḍa 9.69

‘sannyāsīra saṅge āmi karile bhojana
kichu nā khāiba āmi’ ei tomāra mana

Jayapatākā Swami: If I eat with the sannyāsīs, I would not eat very much – This You thought within your mind.

Since Lord Caitanya is the Supersoul, since He knows what His expansions think, He knew what Advaita Ācārya was thinking.

Caitanya Bhāgavata, Antya-khaṇḍa 9.70

ekeśvara āile se āmāre sakala
khāoyāiyā nija-icchā karibā saphala

Jayapatākā Swami: Lord Caitanya knew what Advaita Ācārya was thinking.

Caitanya Bhāgavata, Antya-khaṇḍa 9.71

ataeva e sakala utpāta sṛjiyāni
ṣedhile nyāsi-gaṇa mane ājñā diyā

Jayapatākā Swami: “Therefore You created all these natural disturbances and forbade the sannyāsīs from coming by giving this order in your mind.

Caitanya Bhāgavata, Antya-khaṇḍa 9.72

advaitācāryera sevā karāya indrera saubhāgya—

indra ājñā-kārī e tomāra kon śakti
bhāgya se indrera, ye tomāre kare bhakti

Jayapatākā Swami: Lord Indra is the order carrier. Therefore, You do not have to exert any of Your own energy. It was Lord Indra’s good fortune; he got the opportunity to offer devotional service.

Caitanya Bhāgavata, Antya-khaṇḍa 9.73

svayaṁ kṛṣṇa yāṅhāra vākyapālanakārī, tāṅhāra ājñāya jhaḍavarṣāra āvirbhāva nagaṇya—

kṛṣṇa nā karena yāṅra saṅkalpa anya
thāye karite pāre kṛṣṇa-sākṣāt sarvathā

Jayapatākā Swami: “Even Lord Kṛṣṇa does not refuse Your request. You are able to make Him appear anywhere.

By Advaita Ācārya’s request, Lord Caitanya appeared.

Caitanya Bhāgavata, Antya-khaṇḍa 9.74

kṛṣṇacandra yāṅra vākya karena pālana
ki adbhuta tāre ei jhaḍa variṣaṇa

Jayapatākā Swami: Lord Kṛṣṇacandra follows Your instruction. Therefore, arranging for some wind, storm and rain is nothing very wonderful.

Caitanya Bhāgavata, Antya-khaṇḍa 9.75-76

yama, kāla, mṛtyu yāṅra ājñāśire dhare
yāṅra pada vāñche yogeśvara munīśvare

ye-tomā-smaraṇe sarva-banda-vimocana
ki vicitra tāre ei jhaḍa variṣaṇa

Jayapatākā Swami: Yamarāja, Time, and Death personified, carry out His order on their head, whose lotus feet are desired by the best of the yogīs and munis. By simply remembering You, one is liberated from all bondage. What is amazing about arranging for some storm or rain? Since Advaita Ācārya is the incarnation of Mahā Viṣṇu, He is worshiped by everyone in the three worlds, all the universes. So, what is wonderful, what is impossible for Him?

Caitanya Bhāgavata, Antya-khaṇḍa 9.77

tomā jāne hena jana ke āche saṁsāre
tumi kṛpā karile se bhakti-phala dhare”

Jayapatākā Swami: “Who in this material world knows You perfectly? By Your mercy anyone can one get the fruit of bhakti or devotional service.”

Caitanya Bhāgavata, Antya-khaṇḍa 9.78

advaitācāryera vaiṣṇavī pratiṣṭhā-varaṇa; prabhura sevakasūtre eirūpa bala nityakāmya —

advaita balena,—“tumi sevaka-vatsala
kāya-mano-vākye āmi dhari ei bala

Jayapatākā Swami: Advaita Ācārya said, “You are very affectionate to Your servants. With My body, mind, and words, I possess this strength.

Advaita Ācārya, He gives all the credit to Śrī Kṛṣṇa Caitanya.

Caitanya Bhāgavata, Antya-khaṇḍa 9.79

sarva-kāla-siṁha āmi tora bhakti-bale
ei vara—’more nā chāḍibā kona kāle’”

Jayapatākā Swami: “May I always remain as powerful as a lion by the strength of devotional service to You. Please give Me the benediction that You will never abandon Me.”

Caitanya Bhāgavata, Antya-khaṇḍa 9.80

eirūpa parasparera kathā-prasaṅge prabhura bhojana-samāpti—

ei-mata dui prabhu vākovākya-rase
bhojana sampūrṇa haila ānanda-viśeṣe

Jayapatākā Swami: In this way the two Lords relished Their wonderful exchange, as Lord Caitanya finished His meal with special happiness.

Caitanya Bhāgavata, Antya-khaṇḍa 9.81

advaitācāryera śrīmukhera kathā-aviśvāsakārī advaitānuga nāmera kalaṅka o advaitera adṛśya—

advaitera śrī-mukhera e sakala katha
satya satya satya ithe nāhika anyathā

Jayapatākā Swami: Advaita Ācārya’s lotus mouth these words came from His lotus mouth, the statements they are true! they are true! they are true! there is no truth otherwise.

Caitanya Bhāgavata, Antya-khaṇḍa 9.82

śunite e saba kathā yāra prīta naya
se adhama advaitera adṛśya niścaya

Jayapatākā Swami: Anyone who does not relish hearing these narrations, he is the lowest of men and certainly, he will be bereft of Advaita Ācārya’s merciful glance.

Purport (by Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura): Since Śrī Advaita Prabhu desired to become happy by feeding Śrī Mahāprabhu alone, Indra, the King of the demigods, created a natural calamity to stop the other sannyāsīs from coming. As a result, Mahäprabhu came alone and Advaita Prabhu felt satisfaction by feeding Him. This topic was revealed by Śrī Advaita Prabhu to His own servants. But some people who do not accept Advaita Prabhu as an unalloyed servant of Mahāprabhu do not approve of such factual incidents. Rather they consider Śrī Gaurasundara subordinate to Śrī Advaita and thus endeavor to modify the service attitude of Advaita Prabhu. Although such ignorant materialistic people identify themselves as followers of Advaita, they are not to be seen; in other words, if one happens to see the face of such a person, one would have to purify himself from that bad association by taking bath in the Ganges.

In the Adī-līlā, 12th chapter of the Caitanya-caritāmṛta, it mentions how Advaita Ācārya had six sons. Three of them were pure devotees and three of them were considered asāra because they did not recognize Advaita Ācārya’s service attitude towards Lord Caitanya, thus they were not seen by Advaita Ācārya.

Caitanya Bhāgavata, Antya-khaṇḍa 9.83

hari-śaṅkarera yena prīta satya katha
abudha prākṛta jane nā bujhe sarvathā

Jayapatākā Swami: The loving relationship between Lord Hari and Lord Śaṅkara is factual, yet it can never be understood by ignorant or materialistic persons.

Caitanya Bhāgavata, Antya-khaṇḍa 9.84

ekera aprīte haya doṅhāra aprīta
hari-hare yena—tena caitanya-advaita

Jayapatākā Swami: If one displeases either one of them, they both will be displeased. This same relationship that exists between Lord Hari and Lord Śaṅkara was manifested between Lord Caitanya and Advaita Ācārya.

Caitanya Bhāgavata, Antya-khaṇḍa 9.85

niravadhi advaita e saba kathā kaya
jagatera trāṇa lāgi’ kṛpālu hṛdaya

Jayapatākā Swami: The all-merciful kindhearted Advaita Ācārya always described these topics for the deliverance of the world.

Caitanya Bhāgavata, Antya-khaṇḍa 9.86

advaitera vākya bujhibāra śakti yāṅra
jāniha īśvara saṅge bheda nāhi tāṅra

Jayapatākā Swami: One who has the potency to understand Advaita Ācārya’s statements knows that there is no difference between Him and Lord Caitanya.

Purport (By His Divine Grace Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura Śrīla Prabhupāda): As stated:

advaitaṁ hariṇādvaitād ācāryaṁ bhakti-śaṁsanāt
bhaktāvatāram īśaṁ tam advaitācāryam āśraye

“Because He is nondifferent from Hari, the Supreme Lord, He is called Advaita, and because He propagates the cult of devotion, He is called Ācārya. He is the Lord and the incarnation of the Lord’s devotee. Therefore I take shelter of Him.” (Cc Ādi 1.13)

Caitanya Bhāgavata, Antya-khaṇḍa 9.87

śrī-caitanya-advaita-līlā-prasaṅga-śravaṇe kalyāṇa phala-lābha—

bhakti kari’ ye śunaye e saba ākhyāna
kṛṣṇe bhakti haya tāra sarvatra kalyāṇa

Jayapatākā Swami: Whoever hears these pastimes with devotion will achieve the devotional service to Lord Kṛṣṇa and for them everywhere is auspiciousness.

Thus ends the chapter entitled, Phalaśruti – Gets Kṛṣṇa-Bhakti and for Them Everywhere is Auspiciousness
Under the section: Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu Accepts Prasādam from His Devotees

So, hearing these narrations between Lord Caitanya and Advaita Ācārya, and hears these pastimes narrated with devotion, they will achieve Kṛṣṇa-bhakti, and for them everywhere is auspiciousness.
