Under the section: Śrī Nityānanda’s Return Journey to Nīlācala from Navadvīpa

Caitanya Bhāgavata, Antya-khaṇḍa, 7.43

nityānanda svatantra kṛṣṇakeo vikraya karite samartha—

‘svatantra’ kariyā vede ye kṛṣṇere kaya
hena kṛṣṇa pāra tumi karite vikraya

Jayapatākā Swami: “Lord Kṛṣṇa who is described in the Vedas as fully independent, that Kṛṣṇa You are able to sell.

Purport (by Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura): The Supreme Lord is not dependent on anyone, but Śrī Nityānanda Prabhu has taken control of Him by serving Kṛṣṇa. Śrī Kṛṣṇa is certainly the property of Śrī Nityānanda.

Haribol!

Jayapatākā Swami: So, through His surrender and devotional service Lord Nityānanda is able to give out Kṛṣṇa. So we should take shelter of Lord Nityānanda or His representative, the guru, and that is the simple way to achieve Kṛṣṇa.

Caitanya Bhāgavata, Antya-khaṇḍa, 7.44

murtimanta kṛṣṇarasāvatāra nityānanda—

tomāra mahimā jānibāre śakti kāra
mūrtimanta tumi kṛṣṇa-rasa-avatāra

Jayapatākā Swami: “Who has the power to know Your glories? You are the incarnation or form of Kṛṣṇa's transcendental mellows of love for Lord Kṛṣṇa.

Purport (by Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura): Śrī Nityānanda Prabhu is the personification of the transcendental mellows of love for Kṛṣṇa. As the āśraya-vigraha, or the manifestation or form of the Lord of whom one must take shelter, He enhances the five types of rasa in relationship with Kṛṣṇa.

Jayapatākā Swami: So, Lord Nityānanda He enhances whatever one’s rasa is with Kṛṣṇa, whatever their relationship with Kṛṣṇa is enhanced by the mercy Lord Nityānanda.

Caitanya Bhāgavata, Antya-khaṇḍa, 7.45

bāhya nāhi jāna tumi saṅkīrtana-sukhe
ahar-niśa kṛṣṇa-guṇa tomāra śrī-mukhe

Jayapatākā Swami: “You have forgotten the external world, You are always engaged in the happiness of chanting the Holy names, day and night You glorify Kṛṣṇa's qualities from Your mouth.

Lord Caitanya is appreciating the glories of Lord Nityānanda and Lord Nityānanda always chants Hare Kṛṣṇa and He helps one achieve the highest platform of pure love for Kṛṣṇa.

Caitanya Bhāgavata, Antya-khaṇḍa, 7.46

nityānanda-vigraha kṛṣṇa-vilāsa-sadana—

Jayapatākā Swami: “Lord Kṛṣṇacandra, He always resides inside Your heart. Your body is the abode of Lord Kṛṣṇa’s pastimes.

Purport: The body of Śrī Nityānanda is the shelter of Kṛṣṇa’s pastimes.

Caitanya Bhāgavata, Antya-khaṇḍa, 7.47

ataeva tomāre ye jane prīti kare
satya satya kṛṣṇa kabhu nā chāḍibe tāre”

Jayapatākā Swami: “Therefore whoever loves You, it is true that Lord Kṛṣṇa does not leave such a person who is attached to You.”

Caitanya Bhāgavata, Antya-khaṇḍa, 7.48

tabe kata-kṣaṇe nityānanda mahāśaya
balite lāgilā ati kariyā vinaya

Jayapatākā Swami: Thereafter, sometimes Lord Nityānanda mahāśaya, He began to speak with great humility as follows.

Caitanya Bhāgavata, Antya-khaṇḍa, 7.49

nityānandera gaura-prapatti, mahāprabhura prati nityānanda —

“prabhu hai’ tumi ye āmāre kara’ stuti
e tomāra vātsalya bhaktera prati ati

Jayapatākā Swami: “Although You are the Master, You offer Me prayers. This is proof of Your great affection for Your devotees.

Caitanya Bhāgavata, Antya-khaṇḍa, 7.50

pradakṣiṇa kara, kibā kara namaskāra
kibā māra, kibā rākha, ye icchā tomāra

Jayapatākā Swami: “You may circumambulate Me, offer obeisances to Me, kill Me, or protect Me You may according to Your own desire.

So, Lord Nityānanda is surrendering to Lord Caitanya, He is saying that, whatever the Lord does, kill Him or protect Him, whatever He does, He would accept.

Caitanya Bhāgavata, Antya-khaṇḍa, 7.51

kon vā vaktavya prabhu, āche tomā-sthāne
kibā nāhi dekha tumi divya-daraśane

Jayapatākā Swami: “How can I present to You Your possession? What don’t You see with Your transcendental eyes or vision?"

Caitanya Bhāgavata, Antya-khaṇḍa, 7.52

mana-prāṇa sabāra īśvara prabhu, tumi
tumi ye karāha, sei-rūpa kari āmi

Jayapatākā Swami: “In mind and thought, You are the Lord or Master of all beings. Whatever You do, I act in that way.

Caitanya Bhāgavata, Antya-khaṇḍa, 7.53

āpanei more tumi daṇḍa dharāilā
āpanei ghucāiyā e-rūpa karilā

Jayapatākā Swami: “You made me to accept a daṇḍa, and then You Yourself made Me reject it.

Caitanya Bhāgavata, Antya-khaṇḍa, 7.54

tāḍa, khāḍu, vetra, vaṁśī, śiṅgā, chānda-daḍi
ihā dharilāṅa āmi muni-dharma chāḍi’

Jayapatākā Swami: “I gave up the duties of a mendicant and accepted bracelets, anklets, a stick, a flute, a buffalo horn, and a rope.

Purport (by Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura): To nourish the variegated pastimes of the Supreme Lord, Śrī Nityānanda Prabhu accepted a daṇḍa. Yet Śrī Gaurasundara made Him give up that daṇḍa. He thus gave up the principles of an ascetic and accepted the necessary ingredients for serving Lord Kṛṣṇa.

Caitanya Bhāgavata, Antya-khaṇḍa, 7.55

ācāryādi tomāra yateka priya-gaṇa
sabārei dilā tapa-bhakti-ācaraṇa

Jayapatākā Swami: “You have accepted Advaita Ācārya and others as Your excessively dear associates. You taught them the principles of austerity and devotional service.

Caitanya Bhāgavata, Antya-khaṇḍa, 7.56

muni-dharma chāḍāiyā ye kaile āmāre
vyavahāri-jane se sakale hāsya kare

Jayapatākā Swami: “Yet You induced Me to give up the duties of a mendicant and made Me an object of laughter for the common people.

Caitanya Bhāgavata, Antya-khaṇḍa, 7.57

tomāra nartaka āmi, nācāo ye-rūpe
sei-rūpa nāci āmi tomāra kautuke

Jayapatākā Swami: “I am a dancer in Your hands; I dance as Your desire. In that way I dance as You wish, for Your pleasure.

Caitanya Bhāgavata, Antya-khaṇḍa, 7.58

nigraha ki anugraha—tumi se pramāṇa
vṛkṣa-dvāre kara tumi tomāra se nāma

Jayapatākā Swami: “You bestow mercy or neglect, and the evidence of that is that You have made even the trees to chant Your Holy names.

Purport (by Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura): Nityānanda said, “Only You are qualified to display mercy or neglect. Not only human beings, even lower species like plants are eligible to attain Your mercy and the service of the Supreme Lord. If the holy name of Kṛṣṇa is chanted, then even living entities whose consciousness is undeveloped can attain benefit.”

Jayapatākā Swami: Lord Nityānanda is glorifying Lord Caitanya, that He can make the trees chant the holy names. So by His mercy, one chants or not able to chant. So, Lord Caitanya has this tremendous power.

Caitanya Bhāgavata, Antya-khaṇḍa, 7.59

navadhā bhaktii nityānandera śrīaṅgera alaṅkāra-svarūpa—

prabhu bale,—“tomāra ye deha alaṅkāra
nava-vidhā bhakti bai kichu nahe āra

Jayapatākā Swami: Lord Caitanya said, “The ornaments on Your body are nothing else but the nine processes of devotional service."

Caitanya Bhāgavata, Antya-khaṇḍa, 7.60

śravaṇa-kīrtana-smaraṇādi namaskāra
ei se tomāra sarva-kāla alaṅkāra

Jayapatākā Swami: “Your body's ornaments are hearing, chanting, remembering, and offering obeisances to Lord Kṛṣṇa, these are Your constant ornaments."

So, in Chennai they are having a kīrtana-yajña, today is the Pongal day in South India and in Bengal they call it Makara-Sankarāṅtī . His Holiness Bhakti Puruṣottama Swami is there observing the festival there, so can we see them.

Lord Caitanya took sannyāsa today in Katwā.

Thus ends the chapter entitled, Mutual Glorification By Lord Caitanya And Lord Nityānanda In Their Own Ecstatic Mood, Part 2
