śrī-caitanya kata-dina advaita-icchāya
rahilā advaite-ghare kīrtana-līlāya

Jayapatākā Swami: By the desire of Advaita Ācārya, Lord Caitanya stayed and enjoyed kīrtana pastimes for few days in Advaita Ācārya's house.

Caitanya-Bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 4.210

prāṇa-nātha gṛhe pāi’ ācārya gosāñi
nā jāne ānande āchena kon ṭhāñi

Jayapatākā Swami: Having received Lord Caitanya, the Lord of His life in His house, Ācārya Gosāñi was in such ecstasy that he did not know where He was.

Caitanya-Bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 4.211

kichu sthira haiyā advaita mahāmati
āi-sthāne loka pāṭhāilāśīghra-gati

Jayapatākā Swami: After becoming somewhat steady and pacified, Advaita Ācārya sent some people to Mother Śacī place and he sent them quickly.

Purport (by Śrīla Bhaktisiddhāta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura): The word āi refers to a respectable lady or a mother. In this case it refers to Śrī Śacīmātā.

Caitanya-Bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 4.212

abhinna-yaśomati śacīmātāra vṛndāvana-līlāya magnyavastha—
dolā lai' navadvīpe āilā satvare
āire vṛttānta kahe calibāra tare

Jayapatākā Swami: They quickly went to Navadvīpa-dhāma with a palanquin and delivered the message that Mother Śacī should come quickly.

Caitanya-Bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 4.213

prema-rasa-samudre ḍubiyā āche āi
ki balena, ki śunena, bāhya kichu nāi

Jayapatākā Swami: Mother Śacī was drown in an ocean of ecstatic love. She had no external consciousness, so she did not know what she said or what she heard.

So, just like Yaśoda was feeling great separation from Kṛṣṇa, Mother Śacī was feeling such separation from Lord Caitanya and hearing that Lord Caitanya had come to Śāntipura, and she is going to see Him, she became so ecstatic, filled with loving sentiments and she was completely absorbed in these loving sentiments and didn’t know what she was saying or what she was hearing.

Caitanya-Bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 4.214

sammukhe yāhāre āi dekhena, tāhāre
jijñāsena,—“mathurāra kathā kaha more

Jayapatākā Swami: Mother Śacī asked whoever she saw before her, Tell me something about Mathurā.

Caitanya-Bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 4.215

rāma-kṛṣṇa ke-mata āchena mathurāya
pāpī kaṁsa ke-mata vā kare vyāvasāya

Caitanya-Bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 4.216

cora akrūrera kathā kaha jāna’ ke
rāma-kṛṣṇa mora curi kari' nila se

Jayapatākā Swami: That thief Akrūra “tell me what you know about him, he stole my dear Kṛṣṇa and Balarāma and took Them away.

Caitanya-Bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 4.217

śunilāṅa pāpī kaṁsa mari’ gela hena
mathurāra rājā ki haila ugrasena”

“I heard that the sinful Kaṁsa is dead. Has Ugrasena become the King of Mathurā?” So, she was completely absorbed in Yaśoda consciousness and she was just thinking about Kṛṣṇa and Balarāma, leaving her and going to Mathurā. This shows how Mother Śacī is the incarnation of Yaśoda.

Caitanya-Bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 4.218

“rāma kṛṣṇa”, baliyā kakhana ḍāke āi

Caitanya-Bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 4.221

kakhana kāhāre kahe sammukhe dekhiyā
“cala yāi yamunāya snāna kari' giyā”

Jayapatākā Swami: Sometimes when Mother Śacī saw someone nearby she would say, “Let us go bathe in the Yamunā.”

Caitanya-Bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 4.222

kakhana ye ucca kari' karena krandana
hṛdaya dravaye tāhā karite śravaṇa

Jayapatākā Swami: Sometimes Mother Śacī would cry so loudly that the heart of anyone who heard would melt.

Caitanya-Bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 4.223

avicchinna dhārā dui nayanete jhare
se kāku śuniyā kāṣṭha pāṣāṇa vidare

Jayapatākā Swami: Tears constantly flowed from Mother Saci's eyes. The sound of Mother Śacī's, pathetic choked crying melted even wood and stone.

Caitanya-Bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 4.224

kakhana vā dhyāne kṛṣṇa sākṣāt ye kari’
aṭṭa aṭṭa hase āi āpanā' pāsari

Jayapatākā Swami: Sometimes in meditation Mother Śacī would see Kṛṣṇa personally, and she would forget herself and laugh loudly.

Caitanya-Bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 4.225

dui-prahare o kabhu nahe upaśama

Jayapatākā Swami: Mother Śacī’s wonderful and blissful laughter would sometimes continue for six hours.

Caitanya-Bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 4.226

kakhana vā āi haya ānande mūrcchita
prahare o dhātu nāhi thāke kadācita

Jayapatākā Swami: Sometimes Mother Śacī would lose consciousness in ecstasy and would show no sign of life (consciousness or knowledge) for up to three hours. Mother Śacī was displaying such ecstatic symptoms that was typical to Mother Yaśoda in Vṛndāvana, the crying, the laughing and falling unconscious, these were all symptoms of ecstatic love.

Caitanya-Bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 4.227

kakhana vā hena kampa upaje āsiyā
pṛthivīte keho yena tole āchāḍiyā

Jayapatākā Swami: Sometimes Mother Śacī, would tremble in such a way that it appeared as if someone had picked her up and thrown her to the ground.

Caitanya-Bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 4.228

āira ye kṛṣṇāveśa ki tāra upamā
āi bai anye āra nāhi tāra sīmā

Jayapatākā Swami: Mother Śacī's ecstatic love for Kṛṣṇa had no comparison. Mother Śacī alone exhibited such boundless love.

Caitanya-Bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 4.229

gauracandra śrī-vigrahe yata kṛṣṇa-bhakti
āire o prabhu diyāchena sei śakti

Jayapatākā Swami: Lord Gauracandra endowed Mother Śacī with the same potency of devotional service to Kṛṣṇa that is found in Him.

Caitanya-Bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 4.230

ataeva āira ye bhaktira vikāra
tāhā varṇibeka saba—hena śakti kāra

Jayapatākā Swami: Therefore who has the power to describe the transformations of Mother Śacī's ecstatic love?

Caitanya-Bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 4.231

hena mate premānanda samudra-taraṅge
bhāsena divasa niśi āi mahāraṅge

Jayapatākā Swami: In this way Mother Śacī joyfully floated day and night in the waves of the ocean of ecstatic love.

Caitanya-Bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 4.232

kadācita āira ye kichu bāhya haya
sei viṣṇu-pūjā lāgi'—jāniha niścaya

Jayapatākā Swami: Know for certain that whatever external consciousness Mother Śacī sometimes exhibited was only for the purpose of worshiping Lord Viṣṇu.

Purport (by Śrīla Bhaktisiddhāta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura): In separation from Śrī Gaura, Śrī Śacīmātā spent her entire day absorbed in the pastimes of Kṛṣṇa. The transcendental activities of Śrī Yaśodā captured the heart of Śrī Śacī. If Mother Śacī ever exhibited external consciousness, it was only for the purpose of worshiping the Supreme Lord.

Jayapatākā Swami: In other words Mother Śacī spent her whole day and night in the ecstasy of separation from Lord Caitanya. Sometimes it appeared that she was conscious of the external world, it was only for the purpose of offering her worship for Lord Kṛṣṇa or Lord Viṣṇu.

Caitanya-Bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 4.233

kṛṣṇera prasaṅge āi āchena vasiyā
henai samaye śubha-vārtā haila giyā

Jayapatākā Swami: Mother Śacī was sitting fully absorbed in Kṛṣṇa consciousness. At that time she received the auspicious news.

Mother Śacī was always fully absorbed in ecstatic separation from Lord Caitanya, in the mood of Mother Yaśoda feeling separation from Kṛṣṇa and then the devotees from Śāntipura came to tell her that Lord Gaurāṅga had appeared, that she should immediately come.

Thus ends the chapter entitled, A Palanquin is sent by Advaita Ācārya to Bring Mother Śacī Who is Feeling Separation from Gaura in the Mood of Śrī Yaśodā From Kṛṣṇa.
