ei mata raṅge prabhu śrī-gaurasundara

vihvala haiyā nāce vaikuṇṭhera rāya

Jayapatākā Swami: The two brothers— Śrīvāsa Paṇḍita and Rāmāi Paṇḍita — glorified Lord Caitanya’s qualities. Lord Caitanya, the Lord of Vaikuṇṭha became overwhelmed with ecstasy as He danced.

Caitanya-Bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 5.35

caitanyera ati priya—śrīvāsa, rāmāi
dui caitanyera deha, dvidhā kichu nāi

Jayapatākā Swami: Śrīvāsa Paṇḍita and Rāmāi Paṇḍita were were most dear to Lord Caitanya. There is no doubt that the two were as good as Lord Caitanya’s body.

Caitanya-Bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 5.36-37

By these Śrīvāsa Ṭhākura pleased Lord Caitanya and in in his house Lord Caitanya manifested Himself.

Purport (by Śrīla Bhaktisiddhāta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura): Śrīvāsa pleased Śrī Gaurasundara in various ways by performing saṅkīrtana, reciting Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam, and displaying proper etiquette filled with great affection and love devoid of awe and veneration.

Jayapatākā Swami: So, Śrīvāsa and Rāmāi helped so nicely with Lord Caitanya that He was very satisfied and He revealed Himself in the house of Śrīvāsa.

Caitanya-Bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 5.38

nibhṛte prabhu o śrīvāsera vyavahāra kathopakathana-chale śaraṇāgata-lakṣaṇa-vaiṣṇava-gṛhasthera sbanirvāha-śikṣā—

Jayapatākā Swami: Śrīvāsa Paṇḍita replied, “O Lord Caitanya, I tell You that I don’t like to go anywhere.”

Caitanya-Bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 5.41

prabhu bale,—“parivāra aneka tomāra

śrīvāsa balena,—“yāra adṛṣṭe yā thāke

Caitanya-Bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 5.44

prabhu bale,—“sannyāsa grahaṇa nā karibā
bhikṣā kariteo kāro dvāre nā yaibā

Jayapatākā Swami: Lord Caitanya said, “You will not take sannyāsa, and you will not go to anyone’s door to beg alms.”

Caitanya-Bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 5.45

ke-mate karibā parivārera poṣaṇa
kichui nā bujhi muñi tomāra vacana

Jayapatākā Swami: “How then will you maintain your family? I do not understand anything what you are saying.

Caitanya-Bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 5.46

e-kālete kothāo nā gele nā āile
vaṭa mātra kāhāreo āsiyā nā mile

Jayapatākā Swami: “Nowadays if one does not go out and not bring anything back, even a little or even a small portion, nothing will come.

Caitanya-Bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 5.47

nā milila yadi āsi’ tomāra duyāre
tabe tumi ki karibā? balaha āmāre”

Jayapatākā Swami: “Tell Me, if nothing comes to your door, what will you do?”

Caitanya-Bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 5.48

śrīvāsa balena hāte tina tāli diyā
“eka, dui, tina ei kahiluṅ bhāṅgiyā”

Jayapatākā Swami: Śrīvāsa Ṭhākura clapped his hands three times and said, “One, two, three— this is the secret.”

Caitanya-Bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 5.49

prabhu bale,—“eka dui tina ye kari
lāki artha ihāra bala kena tāli dilā?”

Jayapatākā Swami: Lord Caitanya said, “What is the meaning of this ’one, two, three’? What is the meaning tell me, Why did you clap?”

Caitanya-Bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 5.50-51

śrīvāsa balena,—“ei daḍhāna āmāra
tina upavāse yadi nā mile āhāra

tabe satya kahoṅghaṭa bāndhiyā galāya

Jayapatākā Swami: Śrīvāsa Pandita replied, “This is my fixed determination, If I do not receive food for three days, then, I tell You the truth, I will tie a pot to my neck and drown myself in the Ganges.”

Haribol!Sribash pandit ki Jay!

Caitanya-Bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 5.52

ei mātra śrīvāsera śuniyā vacana
huṅkāra kariyā uṭhe śacīra nandana

Jayapatākā Swami: As soon as the son of Śacī heard Śrīvāsa’s words, He roared loudly and stood up.

Caitanya-Bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 5.53

prabhu bale,—“ki balili paṇḍita-śrīvāsa!
tora ki annera janya haibe upāsa!

Jayapatākā Swami: Lord Caitanya said, “What did you say, Paṇḍita Śrīvāsa! You will starve for want of food! "

Caitanya-Bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 5.54

kadācit lakṣmīra bhikṣā sambhava haileo ekānta śaraṇāgata śrīvāsera arthābhāva sambhava nahe—
yadi kadācit lakṣmī o bhikṣā kare
tathāpiha dāridrya nahiba tora ghare

Jayapatākā Swami: “Even if Lakṣmīdevī has to beg, still your household will not be afflicted by poverty.

Purport (by Śrīla Bhaktisiddhāta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura): Even if Lakṣmīdevī, the source of unlimited potencies and all opulences, ever faces poverty, the unalloyed topmost devotee Śrīvāsa Paṇḍita will never face poverty.

Jayapatākā Swami: So, this faith of Śrīvāsa Prabhu, that the Lord will always maintain him is incomparable and Lord Caitanya gave him the blessing that never will he experience poverty in his household. So Śrīvāsa Ṭhākura situation is incomparable.

Caitanya-Bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 5.55

āpane ye gītā-śāstre baliyāchoṅ muñi
tāho ki śrīvāsa, ebe pāsarile tuñi!”

Jayapatākā Swami: “O Śrīvāsa Paṇḍita, have you forgotten what I personally said in the Bhagavad-gītā?”

Caitanya-Bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 5.56

ananyāś cintayanto māṁ
ye janāḥ paryupāsate
teṣāṁ nityābhiyuktānāṁ
yoga-kṣemaṁ vahāmy aham

śrī-gītāya śrī-gauraharira vāṇī—tathāhi (gītā 9/22)

Translation: “But those who always worship Me with exclusive devotion, meditating on My transcendental form— to them I carry what they lack, and I preserve what they have.”

Jayapatākā Swami: So, this is the promise of Lord Kṛṣṇa in the Bhagavad-gītā, because Śrīvāsa Paṇḍita he follows this faith, he is always absorbed in pure devotion for the Lord, the Lord provides what He lacks and carries or preserves what he has.

Caitanya-Bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 5.57

“ye-ye-jana cinte more ananya haiyātāre
bhikṣā deṅa muñi māthāya vahiyā

Jayapatākā Swami: Lord Caitanya said, “I personally carry on My head the needs of any person who thinks of Me without deviation.”

Caitanya-Bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 5.58

śaraṇāgata-sevakake arthera janya anyera mukhāpekṣī haite haya nā—
yei more cinte, nāhi yāya kāro dvāre
āpane āsiyā sarva-siddhi mile tāre

Jayapatākā Swami: “Who always thinks of me and who doesn’t go to anyone’s door, all perfection will automatically come to him.”

Caitanya-Bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 5.59

dharma-artha-kāma-mokṣa—āpane āise
tathāpiha nā cāya nā laya mora dāse

Jayapatākā Swami: “Even though religiosity, economic development, sense gratification, and liberation automatically come to My servants, they do not look at them or accept them.”

Purport (by Śrīla Bhaktisiddhāta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura): In the Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam (3.29.13) it is stated:

“A pure devotee does not accept any kind of liberation — sālokya, sārṣṭi, sāmīpya, sārūpya, or ekatva even though they are offered by the Supreme Personality of Godhead.”

Jayapatākā Swami: So, a pure devotee of Kṛṣṇa doesn’t want anything, except the eternal service of the Lord. He can accept certain types of liberation, if it includes service to the Lord, otherwise if he dosn't facilitied, service to the Lord otherwise he is not interested.

Caitanya-Bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 5.60

mora sudarśana-cakre rākhe mora dāsa
mahāpralaye o yāra nāhika vināśa

Jayapatākā Swami: “My Sudarśana cakra always protects My devotees. Even during the final dissolution they are not destroyed.” Hari Bol!

Caitanya-Bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 5.61

śrī-caitanyera dāsera smaraṇakāri-vyaktikeo śrī-caitanya poṣaṇa o pālana karena—
ye mohāra dāsere o karaye smaraṇa
tāhāre o karoṅ muñi poṣaṇa-pālana

Jayapatākā Swami: “I personally protect and maintain anyone who remembers even My servant.”

Purport (by Śrīla Bhaktisiddhāta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura): “I bestow mercy on anyone who remembers Me. I maintain and protect one who remembers even My servant. The devotee of My devotee is most dear to Me.”

Jayapatākā Swami: So, many times devotees are asking, if they remember the spiritual master or the Founder Ācārya at the time of their leaving the body, will they be blessed? So, by this, Lord Kṛṣṇa, Lord Caitanya says that not only is one delivered by remembering Him, but He maintains and protects one who remembers even His servant. The devotee of my devotee is most dear to Me.

Haribol!

Caitanya-Bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 5.62

śrī-caitanya-sevakera dāsa śrī-caitanya prabhura adhika priya?—
sevakera dāsa se mohāra priya baḍa
anāyāse se-i se mohāre pāya daḍha

Jayapatākā Swami: “The servant of My servant is most dear to Me. Such a person easily attains Me without a doubt.”

Caitanya-Bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 5.63

kon cintā mora sevakera bhakṣya kari’
muñi yāra poṣṭā āchoṅ sabāra upari

Jayapatākā Swami: “How can My servant be in anxiety for food, when I am there to maintain him above all?”

Caitanya-Bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 5.64

ghare basiyā thākileo śaraṇāgata-dvāre sakala sambhārera svataḥi āgamana—

āpani āsibe saba tomāra duyāre

Jayapatākā Swami: “O Śrīnivāsa, you just sit happily at home. Everything will come to your doorstep.”

Caitanya-Bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 5.65

śrī-advaita o śrīvāsera prati prabhura vara—
advaitere tomāre āmāra ei vara
’jarā-grasta nahibe doṅhāra kalevara’”

Jayapatākā Swami: “My benediction to Advaita Ācārya and to yourself, is that your bodies will never be affected by old age.”

Purport (by Śrīla Bhaktisiddhāta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura): Śrī Mahāprabhu gave the benediction that old age would never affect the transcendental bodies of Śrīvāsa and Śrī Advaita Prabhu.

Jayapatākā Swami: So, in the temple of Yogapīṭha and Śrīvāsa aṅgana and Advaita’s house as established by Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura, the form of Advaita Ācārya Stays always young .

Caitanya-Bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 5.66

rāma-paṇḍitere ḍāki’ śrī-gaurasundara

Caitanya-Bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 5.68

prāṇa-saha tumi mora, śrī-rāma paṇḍita
śrīvāsera sevā nā chāḍibā kadācita”

Jayapatākā Swami: O Śrī Rāma Paṇḍita, you are as dear to Me as My own life. You should never give up the service of Śrīvāsa Paṇḍita at any time.”

Caitanya-Bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 5.69

śuniyā prabhura vākya śrīvāsa śrī-rāma
anta nāhi ānande, hailā pūrṇa-kāma

Jayapatākā Swami: Hearing the Lord Caitanya’s words, Śrīvāsa Paṇḍita and Śrī Rāma Paṇḍita became unlimitedly happy and their desires were completely fulfilled.

Caitanya-Bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 5.70

adyāpiha śrīvāsere caitanya-kṛpāya
dvāre saba upasanna haiteche līlāya

Jayapatākā Swami: By the mercy of Lord Caitanya, even today, everything comes to the door of Śrīvāsa Paṇḍita. This is the pastime of the Lord.

Caitanya-Bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 5.71

śrīvāsera udāra-caritra anirvacanīya—
ki kahiba śrīvāsera udāra caritra
tribhuvana haya yāṅra smaraṇe pavitra

Jayapatākā Swami: How can I describe the magnanimous characteristics of Śrīvāsa Paṇḍita? The three worlds become purified simply by remembering him.

Caitanya-Bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 5.72

satya sevilena caitanyere śrīnivāsa
yāṅra ghare caitanyera sakala vilāsa

Jayapatākā Swami: Śrīnivāsa Paṇḍita truly served Lord Caitanya, for Lord Caitanya enacted His pastimes in his house.

Caitanya-Bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 5.73

kayekadina prabhura śrīvāsa-bhavane avasthāna —
hena raṅge śrīvāsa-mandire gaura-rāya
rahilena kata dina śrīvāsa-icchāya

Jayapatākā Swami: In this way, by the desire of Śrīvāsa Paṇḍita, Lord Gaurāṅga Rāya happily stayed in the house of Śrīvāsa Ṭhākura for some days.

Caitanya-Bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 5.74

ṭhākura paṇḍita sarva goṣṭhīra sahite
ānande bhāsena prabhu dekhite dekhite

Jayapatākā Swami: Śrīvāsa Ṭhākura and his family members all floated in an ocean of bliss constantly seeing Lord Caitanya. So, the members of Śrīvāsa Ṭhākura’s household were all pure devotees of Lord Caitanya and they were floating in an ocean of bliss, just by seeing Lord Caitanya and serving His lotus feet.

Thus ends the chapter entitled, Three Clapping of Śrīvāsa Ṭhākura Teaches Self-sufficiency of the Surrendered Vaiṣṇava Gṛhasthas.
