So, thank you all for being present today. We would like to offer our respects to the Chief Guest. Also to the Gokula children who performed today. My dear Godbrother, Mahakarta Prabhu and all the assembled guests…

Today, they asked me to speak on peace. We would all like peace. Without peace there is no happiness. Peace is a very essential thing. There is one sloka in the Bhagavad Gita which Prabhupada used to call the peace formula.

bhoktäraà yajïa-tapasäà

sarva-loka-maheçvaram

suhådaà sarva-bhütänäà

jïätvä mäà çäntim åcchati

That for all the tapsyas, yajnyas, sacrifices, I am the enjoyer, said Lord Krsna. He is the Lord of all the planets and the well-wisher of everyone. He who knows this can achieve peace. So all the sacrifices, all the tapasyas we do are enjoyed by the one absolute truth. He may be known by different names, but it’s the same person, and He is well-wisher of all the people. We sometimes.. people speculate that God doesn’t care for us, but He is the well-wisher of all people. He has to make some common law for everyone. So He has the law of Karma. Whatever creed you follow the law of Karma follows, but if one wants achieve the perfection of life, then it’s not through Karma, it’s by directly devotional service.

There are nine type of devotional service, starting from Sravanam, Kirtanam, Smaranam. Hearing, glorifying and remembering, and there is pada sevyanam, vandanam, archanam. That’s prayer, service to the lotus feet, and deity worship. Then there is being servitor of the Lord, being a fried to the Lord and surrendering everything to the Lord. So we heard from the chief guest how there is difficulty in the present age. Therefore the Lord has given us a very easy process, chanting the Hare Krsna mantra,

By chanting the mantra, one can achieve internal peace as well as achieving peace in the material world. We see that even children are able to chant Hare Krsna. There are only three words, Hare, Krsna, Rama, Hare, Krsna and Rama.

Lord Siva, he said that, …1.32.30-35…. (Inaudible) that if you chant of Ram, it’s equal to 1000 names of Visnu, and name of Krsna is equal to 3000 names of Krsna. So chanting the names of Krsna and Rama have multiple benefits.

So, we are trying to encourage people to chant individually and collectively. Individually it’s called japa, and grouped together it is called kirtan or sankirtan. So one day Rukmini invited Krsna to come to her palace. So Krsna came, and Rukmini had personally the palace with her maids. He got the children all dressed up to meet their father. Auspicious things were given in the doorway, brahmana’s chanting mantra, musicians playing music. So Krsna came, brahmana’s chanting, music playing, the kids coming up. Krsna smelled the children’s heads and gave His affection. Then Rukmini took Krsna into her private quarters. There she bathed Krsna’s lotus feet, and Rukmini started to cry. Krsna said, “Why are you crying? You should be rejoicing. Not crying. What’s wrong? Has some maid not listened to you? Some child was arguing back?”

The Rukmini said, “You are Bhagavan, You know what Siva is doing in Kailash, what Brahma in Satyaloka. Is this the one thing that you don’t know. Radharani knows, I know, but you don’t know?”

No one before told Krsna that He did not know something before. He said, “What is that?” Rukmini said, “You don’t know how much we devotees love you, and in what way we love you.”

So he brought Rukmini by His side, He was wiping the tears from her eyes. Then Narada Muni came flying in, and Krsna said, “O, gurudev, gurudev.” So he gave him the special guru seat, the raised seat. Rukmini poured the water Krsna messaged it in the feet of Narada Muni, because Krsna was playing the part of a ksatriya and Narada Muni was His guru. But He saw, Narada Muni was agitated.

“You are always peaceful Narada Muni, but why today you are not peaceful?

“I see that your pastimes are about to come to an end. You will leave this universe, and then Kali Yuga will begin. So how will the people get delivered in Kaliyuga? I am worried about this. So that’s why I am disturbed.”

Then Krsna said, “Today My queen Rukmini said there is something that I don’t know. You are my guru. You are agitated. How will the people have peace and deliverance in the age of Kali? So, I promise that I will come again. I will come again as my own devotee. I will give out the Harinam, and I will practice pure love of Krsna, and I will spread peace everywhere. Hari bol!

So in order to have lasting peace, we should chant the names of the Lord, and this would bring in peace in our mind, in the society and the world. So we thank you very much.

I met some people today. Some are chanting one round, some are chanting 10 rounds, and some are chanting 16 rounds. 16 rounds is 10 million names a year, and even two rounds is more than one million names a year. Two rounds takes 15 minutes a day max. Try this, and you will see how you will get peace.
