Who will translate.

We are very happy to be with you tonight. That the first program is held here, is something historical. That shows that you have bhakti. We are sorry that there is not enough room. You have to squeeze in. We were discussing about the pastimes of Lord Caitanya.

Krsna was told by Rukmini, that, “You are bhagavan, You know what Brahma is doing in satyaloka, You know what Siva is doing in Kailash, You know everything, but it seems there is one thing that you don’t know. I know. Radharani knows, but you don’t know.”

“What?”

No one had ever told Krsna that there is something that He doesn’t know. So then Rukmini revealed, “You don’t know much Your devotee’s love You, in what way they love You.” So Krsna was surprised to hear this, and the same day Narada Muni was disturbed.

He wondered that if Krsna is leaving the universe, and Kaliyuga begins, how will the conditioned souls get delivered. So Krsna said, “I will come again in Kali Yuga, but I will come as a devotee, and I will understand how my devotee loves me, and I will also distribute dharma.”

So Lord Caitanya is that coming of Krsna. As a devotee, and He preached the glories of the Harinam. So as a young boy He was very naughty like Krsna, and He was as a pandit, He was the greatest pandit. As a grihastha, He was a ideal grihastha, and when He was a devotee He was a super devotee. He was giving out purely Krsna Prem, and as a sanyasi He was very renounced, very peaceful, but He was rasasekhar. Rasasekhar means, He tasted all the rasas.

Gurumaharaj speaks in Bengali. Says that he knows more Bengali than Hindi.

So when Lord Caitanya was a child, He ran after school with Jagadananda and Gadadhara, and He saw a parrot. He said, “Oh, you are non-different from Sukhadev Goswami, and Sukhadev had glorified Radha and Krsna in the Bhagavatam. So please glorify Radha and Krsna. So the parrot began to chant, “Gaura, Gaura”………………………………. “Gaura, Gaura” (devotees)

“Gaura, Gaura”…………………….. “Gaura, Gaura” (devotees)

“Gaura, Gaura”…………………….. “Gaura, Gaura” (devotees)

Now who can be a better parrot? You be the judge. Amongst the ladies who is the best parrot….

Lord Caitanya said, “No, No, No, I didn’t want to hear this. I am a devotee of Radha and Krsna. I want to hear the glories of Radha and Krsna.”

But the parrot said, “Since time immemorial I have been doing this bhajan. So I only know how to do this bhajan.

Lord Caitanya said, “This place Nabadwip is non-different from Vrindavan. So in this place you should worship Radha and Krsna.”

The parrot said, “That for me yes this place is non-different from Vrindavan and you are Shyamsundar, and Radha is Gadadhar. Now I will chant in my way, and You chant your way.”         

I will chant,

I didn’t see anybody fly out in the air (laughter)

So Lord Caitanya, Gadadhara and Jagadananda Pandit, they ran from that place. Lord Caitanya was holding His ears. Lord Caitanya, He had so many pastimes. When He was Nimai Pandit, He was the topmost pandit, and all the people would want to do some seva.

Garland maker would make a garland to Lord Caitanya, and Lord Caitanya would say, “I am a poor Brahmin, I don’t have any money right now, but the flower garland maker said, “You don’t have to pay me.””

Like this someone offered a fine clothe, someone offered Him fine gifts, and then He came out to one astrologer. He had the name of sarvagya. So then Lord Caitanya said, “Tell me what I was in my previous life.” So He looked at Lord Caitanya’s hand, he went into trance and He saw Ramchandra green, He saw Shyamsundar in blue color, like this He saw different avatars.

Lord Caitanya was asking , “What did you see. What was that?”

“When you come back later, I will tell you then.”, and he ran into His room. Like this Lord Caitanya was enjoying His pastimes, and like this He had so many pastimes. The after taking initiation from Gaya, He became a devotee, and then He started the sankirtan movement. So Srila Prabhupada took that sankirtan movement to the West, and Lord Caitanya reached in the Indian sub-continent and he preached.

Prabhupada, he preached in the different places where Lord Caitanya didn’t go. So when He was in the Los Angeles, the deities told Him that you should also preach in India, otherwise he was just preaching in the West. Now in India we have around 75 to 100 branches. Bangladesh have around 30, Nepal about 12 centers, about four centers in Sri Lanka. Like this we have… Prabhupada asked me to preach especially in the Indian subcontinent, but he also asked me also to travel and preach.

So we are very happy to be here. I see this as an extension of the South Asia andolan. So this human form of life is meant for us to understand our relationship with Krsna. So here in this center we want to reestablish our lost relationship with Krsna.

One can be of any religion, any background, this is a post graduate study. We don’t convert anyone. We are established that one could practice through own faith more seriously. So we want to be very serious, chant the holy names and read Srimad Bhagavatam.

The flight on which we flew here, they said, “Thank you for choosing our ailine.” So there are two choices, one choice to choose the path of karma. For all your satwa-gun activities you get credit. For all rajasik and tamasik activities you get some negative karma, and that’s one airline. The other airline is Lord Caitanya’s mercy airline. By chanting the holy names, you can go back to the spiritual world, but the other airline, the karma airline, you go to swarga or naraka, you can’t go to the spiritual world. So who would like to take the karma airline.

Raise your hand. Come on.

(laughter)

Who wants the mercy of Lord Caitanya…. (cheering by crowd)
