20170127_initation talk

Gurumahraj : So this is a maha-initiation. From all over the U.A.E.

So initiation means we are offering ourselves in the service of Krsna.

There are various kinds of nivedans, Puspa nivedan, anna nivedan, deep nivedan, but initiation means atman nivedan. It doesn’t mean taking sanyas. Those who are in their respective ashrams would follow those ashram rules. So since most of the grihasthas, they follow the grihastha rules, Lord Caitanya was initiated as a grihastha, and He chanter Hare Krsna as a grihastha. He stayed as a grihastha for half His life. We expect that most people would stay as grihasthas. In addition to their grihastha duties, they will take service to the Lord and to their guru. We want the husband and the wife to serve Krsna together, if at all possible. The idea is that we offer ourselves in the service of Guru and Gauranga. It’s called yukta vairagya, that you would use what you would normally in the service of Krsna, like the pativratas, they cook everyday.

As a devotee you cook and offer to Krsna, and then you give that to your husband and your children. In the Bhagavad Gita it is said that by taking Krsna Prasad one gets delivered from the karmas. Eating is the same, but one is eating sin and others are eating prasadam. So like that one has children for Krsna, and they try to raise their children to be devotees. This requires patience and love. Everybody has their own previous karmas. So it’s not automatic that somebody is a devotee. Krsna sends a child, Prabhupada calls them Vaikuntha kids, and the parents should take care of them thinking them to be sent by Krsna, and also the devotees should try to make other devotees. This is called gosthianandi’s. Those who want their personal liberation are called bhajanandi’s. Those who want to take other souls back to Godhead are called gostianandi’s. So taking initiation means coming under the shelter of the guru and the guru-parampara.

Have you taken your vows?

Who will take their vows? Raise your hands.

So there are four vows of things not to do, like no eating of meat, fish, egg, onion and garlic, no taking of intoxication, no extra marital or illicit sex and no gambling. How many took thse vows?

Then you will chant 16 rounds? And you will help me fulfill Prabhupada’s mission.

In the Bhagavad Gita, Krsna tells Arjuna,

daivé hy eñä guëa-mayé

mama mäyä duratyayä

mäm eva ye prapadyante

mäyäm etäà taranti te

That if we want to cross over the maya, it’s very difficult, but if we surrender to Krsna, He will cross us over the maya, and take us back to Him. So our process is to surrender to Krsna. This is called Bhakti Yoga.

So are you ready to practice bhakti yoga…………..hari bol (devotees)

Are the shelter candidates not ready?

This is a public mantra, so it is not secret.

You should keep your right ear open, especially the ladies remove your sarees from your right ear.

Do not repeat until I finish.

Hare Krsna Hare Krsna Krsna Krsna Hare Hare Hare Rama Hare Rama

Rama Rama Hare Hare….Hare Krsna Hare Krsna Krsna Krsna Hare Hare

Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare (repeated by devotees)

So on the order of His Divine Grace A.C.Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, I am giving the initiation.

So since there are many people, I will have some else read out the spiritual name which I chose, and we don’t want to have any delays here.

So those who want to bow down, bow down right now where you are right now.

So when you come here you don’t have to pay your obeisance’s.

Now we will hand over the organization to the organizers.
