Caitanya Lila – Day – 01 mukham karoti vacalam pangu langhe yate kirim yat kripa tam aham vande sri gurum dina tarinam paramananda madhavam sri Caitanya isvaram. hari om tat sat how many of you were in the navadvipa parikarama? Gauranga!!!! gracias danyavad Devotees were paining and Srila Prabhupada went to see, the chief of devotee care to find out how the devotees were doing but they all had bad digestion. So He said if you work enough you will digest stones. So he suggested that devotees go on Navadvipa parikrama. And also to chant hare Krishna. In this way they will have a greater digestive power and they won’t be sick at the same time they will fulfill the desires of the previous acharyas and they will spiritually advance. So like that Srila Prabhupada took us for the first parikrama. In Simantadvipa now navadvipa parikrama is advanced in many places we have located a number of unique places, new places we mean old places which had become lost and how we found out where they were and we rediscovered them so that was hardly anything in Madhyadvipa just the hamsa vahan but we found the puskara tirtha, uccha hatta, which is non-different from Kurukshetra, Naimasarnya and the panch veni ganga. It wasn’t too hard to find it is just the other Gaudiya math didn’t know where it was! So in many cases we found with the last surviving Srila Prabhupada god brothers who were going on the original parikrama with Bhakti Siddhanta Sarasvati Thakura and he remembered where the places had been pointed out then those places were also described as between two rivers, or side of this river so by this way we could locate and confirm that was the right place so we still couldn’t locate where vaikuntapur is but most of the places we could locate. This is a great thing but unless we will build the temple there or some form of monument that again it can be easily forgotten so we know how Lord Nityananda how he had taken Sri Jiva to various places and how Srinivas acharya had gone 450 years ago and he was shown these places then so while we have the chance we want to erect some monuments like Bhakti Siddhnata Sarasvati thakur did at Suvarna vihar or how he repaired the temple at the Campahatti so it is interesting that Bhakti Vinod thakur he was saying that Lord is non-different from his name from his qualities, from his form, from his lila but somehow we forget that He is also non-different from his dham. in the dham is special relating with the lord so here in the dham our appreciation for lord Krishna and Lord Caitanya and our desire to serve them increases it is the quality of the dham and here the desire to serve the devotees is also enhanced, it was nice to hear different speakers like on speaker said that a devotee approached lord Caitanya and asked him “how can I serve you?” he said that “anyone who chants hare Krishna even once they are devotees, serve them”. But next time the devotee asked him the same question “how can I serve you?” he said “serve the devotee who constantly chants hare Krishna.” then third time when that devotee met lord Caitanya he asked the same question “How can is serve you, Lord Caitanya?” he told him that devotee just by seeing him once someone becomes devotee serve him.” So the same question he gave 3 different answers: - Serving any devotee who chants hare Krishna once - Serving the devotee who constantly chants hare Krishna - Serving that devotee just by seeing him once someone becomes devotee Of course we will aspire to be such a devotee that just being seen someone becomes a devotee. So Srila Prabhupada was that kind of devotee, just by seeing him one will become a devotee. He was turning people into devotee just by being seen by him or he was such a devotee. one day after kumbha mela in 1970, it was the ardha kumbah mela, he was giving the morning class so he said if one become Krishna conscious means you have gone through all the preliminary steps and then he quote like charity, auspiciousness, yajnas, all these satvik qualities so one devotee he raised his hand he said that “Srila Prabhupada, you said that if one being a devotee has gone through all these qualities, but I look upon my own life I didn’t do any of these things rather I was engaged in sinful and inauspicious things so how did I become a devotee?” Srila Prabhupada said “I have made the good fortune for you!” so we could see how Srila Prabhupada was making people fortunate just by his association and when I saw the huge number of devotees at the maha Milan then I was told that it didn’t include the Russian group they were coming later, it was not even enough room for Russian group, the Russian group were about 1400 people so there were so many people I saw that Srila Prabhupada was very pleased and then I was praying to Srila Prabhupada, but he answered my prayer, this is nice but this what my Guru had did. he had 10,000 people in parikrama I want to offer him something better, we should have more!! Gauranga!!!!!!!!!!!! And then I was thinking how later I came to exercise pool, after so many days finally doing some exercises I was remembering how Srila Prabhupada stayed in the grass hut and we were staying there with him, myself, after sometime Jananivas, and few devotees and there was about 5 of us were staying with Srila Prabhupada and he came He gave us a vision he said this house is a satvik house – grass, bamboo, is enough for us to be here to chant hare Krishna but people would not be able to come, people from the western countries, from the big cities, they need some guest houses, some marble floors so we have to build some rajasic buildings, cement, steel, sand, stone chips these are in the mode of passion, but if we don’t do that people will not come. We want to preach the glories of Lord Caitanya so we have to build like this Mayapur that time was just open fields and one grass hut and here was Srila Prabhupada talking about spiritual city, big temple, many guest houses, houses for devotees, grhastas , for vanaprastas, brahmacaris , so he was seeing all these things well at that time all that was was a grass hut, and then Srila Prabhupada said that keep this grass hut , keep it forever, and to show at one point this is all that was everything started from here, I was thinking remembering that how it was to be staying there with Srila Prabhupada, something very special. But Srila Prabhupada was pushing us he said that you are the western American European disciples you should do something wonderful. So I sent picture of the piles of bricks, stone-chips and sand, he wrote back “very nice, but I don’t want to see pictures of piles I want to see buildings, show me the buildings!” so we were constructing the building in the presence of Srila Prabhupada we only had the Lotus building, chakra building, we had alongside the wall the boundary wall, we had prasadam hall, the Kitchen and there was a bath house, it was kind a circle ladies could use the inside the circle and men outside that’s how was the bath house when the samdhi mandir was built this went down. Once Srila Prabhupada was walking he hit a door with his cane, there was some night-soil there (what they call in Spanish excreta – kakkaa) in india kakka means uncle .(Laugh…..) Srila Prabhupada said turned to all the devotees, you call yourself a brahmana, brahmana meams clean, this is dirt, why it is not cleaned you are not performing the role of a brahmana then one leader , GBC from England he just showed up and walked over to see Srila Prabhupada and he saw Srila Prabhupada was scolding everybody, he was just smiling, they are getting the sauce!!! then Srila Prabhupada turned to him, “ what kind of brahmana you think you are?” ( laugh…..) I just arrived, there is dirt when a brahmana is present there is no dirt, it is clean so what kind of brahmana you are there is dirt here, so we learned that if Srila Prabhupada was instructing one it was an instruction for everyone and everybody will become very serious so Srila Prabhupada would go on in these little tours, if He saw some paper or dirt he will ask “ what was that?” He was training to keep everything very clean so no dirt would be left anywhere so like this Srila Prabhupada wanted a temple that was spotlessly clean. At that time there were not so many pilgrims and when we were making a master plan we thought on varnasrama stly a place for brahmanas, school a place for business man a place for workers then various pilgrims started coming so as a result we change in the prospect view point and today when I saw all the 5 – 6 groups I was thinking it is only 10,000 to 12,000 people but there is a lot of people, it is like ocean of people what to speak of 50,000 people because Srila Prabhupada taught about 50,000… so for big celebration we need some facility like in-house with 20, 30, 50,000 people surely we need the deity worship for watch the deity for our own resident devotees the temple of Vedic planetarium but for the big festivals we need a bigger place, so Lord Caitanya is non-different from this dham, Bhaktivinod thakur said as the Kali yuga proceeds the Navadvipa dham becomes more radiant and more powerful and the other dhams get overwhelmed by all the sinful reactions but Navadvipa dham grows and grows so I thank all the devotees for their participation in Navadvipa Mandal Parikrama and certainly we hope that everybody gets a lot of spiritual energy to preach out and bring more & more people in Krishna consciousness.

Lord Caitanya he took out devotional service, his associates also preached , associate like Gadadhar who came from spiritual world he is Radharani, but he was also helping Lord Caitanya during his Navadvipa lila to preach. When he went to Bharatpur by Katwa there the whole village surrendered. so they said that they surrender and will do whatever you say so gadadhara pandit he said to his secretary that you have to stay here guide them what to do, the secretary had no idea that he will ever leave Gadadhara prabhu but that was the order of Gadahai he said that you can train them up and you can come. So he said well I don’t have any deity so Gadadhar ahe has a deity he kept around his neck it was a deity of Kheoal Krishana – Krishna, radharani and Lalitha so he said he can take my kheol krishana and he knew that the deity was as dear to him as his life but for the souls who were surrendering he give his personal deity but the secretary said “ I don’t have any books, to teach tem, Gadadhar prabhu had a bhagavad gita manuscript which was written by Lord Caitanya he said you can have this and who has the copy of Gita which was personally written by Lord Caitanya so he gave his gita to the secretary. so that secretary he trained up each house to have one place for the small deity and each house will have a personal deity and one altar empty they would carry the kheol Krishna and put him in the empty altar and the husband will stay home and cook with the wife offer arati, offer bhoga for the deity and then the deity will go back to the main temple so the family will eat the prasadam. every-day the deity will go on rotation to each house like this every devotee who came down from Goloka vrindavan also helping Lord Caitanya and spreading the message of Krishna consciousness so this spirit of preaching now people won’t like the word preaching – outreach was done by all the associates of lord Caitanya I have a few examples that every devotee engaged in this activity. There are two things we cannot do in the spiritual world – one is kill demons, Krishna comes down to material world to fight with demons but other thing is what???? we can’t preach to the conditioned sous ! why not !!! There are no conditioned souls in the spiritual world the only place we can preach to the conditioned souls is in this material world. So lord Caitanya left us a few conditioned souls to preach to, anyway if we look hard we can still find out a few!!!

So this activity was something only Lord Caitanya did during in his manifest pastimes, he was in Navadvipa for 24 years and then he took Sannyasa and then he was in south India, west India, north India, for 6 years he was in east India for one year and then he was in Jagannath Puri for the rest of the time while others were preaching he was dealing with his internal confidential investigations. Which was Rukimini told Krishna “you don’t know one thing, how much and in what way we devotees love you!” So that he has to do himself, the external reason was to establish the yuga dharma that we all can help him, we can’t help him in the internal realizations, that only he has do somehow by just saying these pastimes it is so purifying, it is so wonderful that hard to explain beyond words. So Srila Prabhupada said in the nectar of devotion we just have to hear whatever you understand it is good but we can’t comment so lord Caitanya he was preaching and then he was on self discovery so whole thing is very sublime so we as devotees we can assist him especially by preaching, by bringing people to Krishna consciousness that’s what he needs and that’s what we can do!
