20210718 Being Requested by Vidyā-vācaspati, Lord Caitanya Comes Out and Induces Everyone to Chant the Blissful Names of Kṛṣṇa Part 2

The following is a Śrī Kṛṣṇa Caitanya Book Compilation given by His Holiness Jayapatākā Swami Mahārāja on July18th, 2021 in Śrī Dhāma Māyāpur, India.

Hare Kṛṣṇa! Dear Devotees! Today we will continue with the compilation of Śrī Kṛṣṇa Caitanya Book, Today's chapter is entitled as:

Being Requested by Vidyā-vācaspati, Lord Caitanya Comes Out and Induces Everyone to Chant the Blissful Names of Kṛṣṇa Part 2 
Under the Section: The Lord’s Attempt to Go to Vṛndāvana

Caitanya-Bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 3.407

āpana icchāya thāka, calaha āpane
āpane jānāha, teñi loke tomā’ jāne

Jayapatākā Swami: “You Lord Caitanya, stay at one place or move to another according to Your own sweet will. Only when You reveal Yourself can one know You.”

The word teñi means “therefore.”

Caitanya-Bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 3.408

eteke tomāra karma tumi se pramāṇa
vidhi vā niṣedha ke tomāre diba āna

Jayapatākā Swami: “Therefore Lord Caitanya, You alone know Your activities. Who can subject You to rules or regulations?”

The word āna means “someone else” or “another person.”

Caitanya-Bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 3.409

sabe tomā’ sarva loka tattva nā jāniyā
doṣena antare more ‘krūra’ ye baliyā

Jayapatākā Swami: “People do not know the actual truth about You, so they accuse me of being cruel.”

Caitanya-Bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 3.410

tomāre āpana ghare muñi lukāiyāthui
yāchoṅ loke bale tattva nā janiyā

Jayapatākā Swami: “In ignorance they claim that I hid You in my house, not knowing the truth.”

Caitanya-Bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 3.411

tumi prabhu, tilārdheka bāhira haile
tabe more ‘brāhmaṇa’ kariyā loke bale”

Jayapatākā Swami: “Therefore, O Lord Caitanya, if You come out for just a moment, then people will accept me as a brāhmaṇa.”

Purport by Śrīla Bhaktisiddhāta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura: Brāhmaṇas are truthful. When those who came to see Mahāprabhu at the house of Vidyā-vācaspati could not see Him, they assumed that Vidyā-vācaspati was a liar. Therefore they went to Kuliyā and requested Mahāprabhu to come out of Chakaḍi Caṭṭopādhyāya’s house. Then only would they believe that Vidyā-vācaspati was a truthful person, for then it would be proved that the Lord was not in Vidyā-vācaspati’s house.

Jayapatākā Swami: So, this arrangement was conceived by Vidyā-vācaspati to answer the accusations of the people and also just to give the blessings of Lord Caitanya to all the people and they would appreciate and forget all the fault finding on Vidyā-vācaspati.

Caitanya-Bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 3.412

vācaspatira vākye prabhura lokasamūhake darśana dāna evaṁ nāma-rase pramatta karaṇa— 
hāsite lāgilā prabhu brāhmaṇa-vacane
tāṅra icchā pāliyā calilā sei kṣaṇe

Jayapatākā Swami: After hearing that brāhmaṇa’s request, Lord Caitanya smiled and immediately went outside to fulfill his request. Caitanya-Bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 3.413

The Lord is independent but He is knows as ‘bhakta-vatsala’ He takes care of His devotes so since the brāhmaṇa Vidyā-vācaspati has made this appeal very properly therefore Lord Caitanya smiled and fulfilled his request.

Caitanya-Bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 3.413

yei-mātra mahāprabhu bāhira hailā
dekhi’ sabe ānanda-sāgare magna hailā

Jayapatākā Swami: As soon as Lord Caitanya Mahāprabhu went outside, everyone became merged in an ocean of transcendental ecstasy. Lord Caitanya's appearance immediately changed the consciousness of everyone and they all felt overwhelmed in spiritual bliss.

Caitanya-Bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 3.414

catur-dike loka daṇḍavat hai’ paḍe
yāra yena mata sphure, sei stuti paḍe

Jayapatākā Swami: People offered full prostrate obeisances from all directions. Everyone offered prayers according to their realization and ability.

Caitanya-Bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 3.415

ananta arbuda loka hari-dhvani kare
bhāsila sakala loka ānanda-sāgare

Jayapatākā Swami: Unlimited millions of people chanted the name of Lord Hari, Hari Bol! and floated in an ocean of transcendental ecstasy.

Caitanya-Bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 3.416

sahasra sahasra kīrtanīya-sampradāya
sthāne sthāne sabei paramānande gāya

Jayapatākā Swami: There were thousands and thousands of kīrtana groups, and they all sang in transcendental ecstasy from their location.

Caitanya-Bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 3.417

ahar-niśa parānanda kṛṣṇa-nāma-dhvani
sakala bhuvana pūrṇa kailā nyāsi-maṇi

Jayapatākā Swami: In this way the crest jewel of sannyāsīs, day and night filled the entire world with the transcendental sound vibration of Lord Kṛṣṇa’s holy names. So in this way Lord Caitanya got everyone to chant Hare Kṛṣṇa, Hare Kṛṣṇa, Kṛṣṇa Kṛṣṇa, Hare Hare Hare Rāma, Hare Rāma, Rāma Rāma, Hare Hare Haribol! Srila Gurumahārāja Ki!! Jay!!! and the whole world was filled with the transcendental sound vibration by the mercy of Lord Caitanya.
