20210711 Go to Goloka - Bhādra Pūrṇimā Campaign Address

Jayapatākā Swami:  My obeisances to all the assembled devotees, and best wishes for a successful Bhādra Pūrṇimā. Before me was speaking His Holiness Gopāla Kṛṣṇa Goswami. Śrīla Prabhupāda told us in Calcutta there should be ten temples. But Gopāla Kṛṣṇa Goswami had surpassed that in the Delhi region! He has made about twelve or fourteen temples, and all of them are very dedicated to distributing books. Sometimes, in Māyāpur they tried to surpass Delhi, but usually, Delhi is number one! So, if we have this dedication, then India is assured success.

Yesterday was the disappearance day of Bhaktivinoda Ṭhākura. I was reading, how he was trying to find a copy of the Caitanya-caritāmṛta. But he could not find one. So, Śrīla Prabhupāda made all the Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam, Caitanya-caritāmṛta, Bhagavad-gītā readily available, all over the world in different languages. In India, there are many languages. Bengāli, Hindi, Marathi, Gujarati, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Assamese etc. So Śrīla Prabhupāda, had the BBT publish all the books, not only in English, but in all these languages, all over the world. So, this is a great opportunity we have to “Go Back to Golokā,” by following the footsteps of our great acarya, Sril Bhaktivinoda Ṭhākura. And in this way, we can be successful.

This morning we read a letter from Śrīla Prabhupāda, where he confirmed that our guru has to stay in this material world until his disciples are transferred “Back to Golokā, to Vaikuṇṭha.”

So, we hope that all the devotees will take advantage of this opportunity to Go Back to Golokā, by distributing sets of Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam on Bhādra Pūrṇimā. This shortage, it was there in the time of Srila Bhaktivinoda Ṭhākura, now by the blessings of Śrīla Prabhupāda and the BBT, the books are available. We should see that people get the book, that they read the books. Actually, I was reading in Bhāgavata-māhātmya, that, "Someone who has a Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam set in their house, their house becomes a place of pilgrimage! All the devas from the heavenly planet, they come down to pay their obeisances to the literary incarnation of Kṛṣṇa.”

So, make every house into a place of TRANSCENDENTAL PILGRIMAGE! Give them the copies of the Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam. How much blessed they are is beyond calculation! By this idea you gave out, last year I got hundreds of Bhāgavatams. I gave the copies to the libraries, to the Gauḍīya Maṭhas. Let everybody understand what a great contribution Śrīla Prabhupāda has done to the world. He has given these Bhāgavatam, Śrī Caitanya-caritāmṛta etc all over the world. Srila Bhaktivinoda Ṭhākura could not find one! One copy of Caitanya-caritāmṛta! Now there is no shortage. But people should receive them. So that they can make their house  a home of pilgrimage.

They can read the Bhāgavatam, get blessings. Gītā and Bhāgavatam, these are the essential items that Lord Caitanya recommended. “bolo-kṛṣṇa, bhaja-kṛṣṇa, kara-kṛṣṇa-śikṣā” Kṛṣṇa-śikṣā is in two aspects. One is that Kṛṣṇa personally spoke the Bhagavad-gītā, second is that “The Bhāgavatam” which is spoken about Kṛṣṇa. So, this was Lord Caitanya’s simple request. He requested everyone to read Bhagavad-gītā and Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam. We hope that the devotees takes this study very seriously.

I asked some devotees, “How many books of Śrīla Prabhupāda and Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam they have read?” Most of them, just read a minimum to get second initiation.One disciple read all of Śrīla Prabhupāda books. And one up to the eighth canto. I am asking different leaders throughout India. And one read Bhāgavatam twenty times. Twenty times! Think of it. I was so happy to hear that! Anyway, I hope that everybody distributes the books. Follow the example of His Holiness Gopāla Kṛṣṇa Gosvāmī Maharaja, and also follow the example Vaiśeṣika Prabhu. We should flood the world with Kṛṣṇa-śikṣā, and “Go Back to Golokā.” Don’t stay here and make your guru come back!
