Hariḥ oṁ tat sat!

Jayapatākā Swami: I am very happy to be visiting my dear devotees in Serbia, Croatia, Bosnia and Macedonia. I learned a word in Serbia and Croatia – spreman sam, I am ready. This word contains the word prema, love, Spreman. It has S at the beginning and n at the end but in the middle it has prema. Spreman becomes prema. Like that, in the Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam, Sukadeva Gosvami avoided saying the name of Rādhārani. But he said one of the gopīs has worshipped Kṛṣṇa better and he used the word, arādhitā. So in that way he said the name Rādhā. The great ācāryas said that although he tried to avoid because he would be put in such ecstasy, but somehow or another he said the name Rādhā.

I asked what the word ready is in Serbian. I was told it is spreman. That word contains prema or love. Anyway, like that there may be some words that contain the name of Gaura or Nitāi or something! Like in English, you call this ‘knee’, the joint between the thigh and the calf. And then when you wear some cloth around the neck and you call it ‘tie’. You say knee tie – Nitāi! Nitāi! Nitāi-Gaura! Somehow or another, I don’t know much of the Croatian or Serbian language, but you can try to find out and see how to make the people chant Gaura, Gaurāṇga, Nitāi or something! We were reading how Lord Caitanya led the kīrtana to protest to the Cand Kazi. Usually we don’t hear much about the kīrtana, we just hear about the discussion with the Cand Kazi. But this kīrtana was a universal kīrtana. There were four groups – one group was led by Advaita Gosāñī. One group was led by Haridāsa Ṭhākura. One group was led by Śrīvāsa Ṭhākura. The fourth group was led by Lord Caitanya with Lord Nityānanda and Gadādhara. There were millions of people. They were carrying a flaming torch and oil in another hand. It is said that they were also clapping their hands and playing mṛdangas and karatālas. How is that possible? Vṛndāvana Dāsa Ṭhākura said they actually manifested four arms! But they were in such ecstasy that they did not notice! Actually Lord Caitanya He flooded the universe with love of Kṛṣṇa. So many angels and devas from heaven, like Indra, Vāyudeva, they came down and saw Lord Caitanya chanting and dancing. Seeing the Supreme Personality of Godhead chanting, crying in ecstasy, they fainted! When they regained consciousness, they took human form and joined the kīrtana! The sound was penetrating through the whole universe. Because it was a spiritual sound it crossed the limit of the universe and reached Vaikuṇṭha-loka. The author said it would take him hundreds of years to explain the transcendental sound coming from the ladies! There were some atheists and criticizers standing by, watching. But they got flooded with love of Kṛṣṇa. They started to chant and started to raise their hands. Some of them rolled on the ground overwhelmed with bliss! Kṛṣṇa had the Kurukṣetra war, Lord Caitanya had this universal kīrtana! Saṅkīrtana kī jaya! When people of Navadvīpa they came out and saw Lord Caitanya dancing and chanting, they became overwhelmed. Everybody was chanting. Lord Caitanya went throughout the town of Navadvipa. Although by normal calculation one night went by, but for the devotees it was actually a day of Brahmā! The Cand Kazi heard the kīrtana from a distance, he thought, oh! this is some Hindu wedding, go on and see what is going on. But when his servants went out and saw millions of people chanting and dancing, they pulled off their turban and started dancing with the people so that they would not be discovered. Anyway, we know that there are many obstacles in spreading the saṅkīrtana movement in your part of the world. But by the mercy of Lord Caitanya, everything is possible! Haribol! Gaurāṅga!

So, we are very happy that husband and wife are cooperating together and helping spread the saṅkīrtana movement of Lord Caitanya. Although I have not been able to visit, previously because of health issues and now because of the corona virus, you are all very dear to me and you should know that! Haribol!
