Introduction: So, we are reading the:

Part 2 of Viśvambhara pacifying Śacīmātā

With all these multiple meetings my voice is a little weak.

Caitanya Maṅgala, Madhya-khaṇḍa 11.202

āmi āni diba kṛṣṇaprema hena dhana
sakala-sampadamaya kṛṣṇera caraṇa

Jayapatākā Swami: “I will bring and give you kṛṣṇa-prema, pure love for Lord Kṛṣṇa, the treasure of kṛṣṇa-prema, pure love of Lord Kṛṣṇa. Lord Kṛṣṇa’s lotus feet contain all the wealth.” Viśvambhara is telling His mother, He will bring her pure love of Kṛṣṇa.

Caitanya Maṅgala, Madhya-khaṇḍa 11.203

ihaloke, paraloke avināśī premā
ājñā deha vedanī mā–citte deha kṣamā

Jayapatākā Swami: “Pure love of Lord Kṛṣṇa is not destroyed, in this world or the next. My dear pained mother! Please give me the order and forgive Me in your heart.”

Caitanya Maṅgala, Madhya-khaṇḍa 11.204

sakala janame pitā, mātā sabhe pāya
kṛṣṇa-guru nāhi mile bujhiha hiyāya

Jayapatākā Swami: “In every birth everyone gets a father and mother, but in every birth, it is not possible to find a spiritual master and Lord Kṛṣṇa. Please know this truth in your heart.”

Caitanya Maṅgala, Madhya-khaṇḍa 11.205

manuṣa-janame kṛṣṇa guru sabhe jāni
yei guru nāhi kare–paśu pakṣī māni

Jayapatākā Swami: In the human birth everyone knows spiritual master and Lord Kṛṣṇa. A human being who has not accepted a spiritual master, I consider him like one among the beasts and birds.

Caitanya Maṅgala, Madhya-khaṇḍa 11.206

ihā śuni śacīdevī vismita hiyāya
viśvambhara-mukhapadma ekadṛṣṭe cāya

Jayapatākā Swami: Hearing this, Śacī devī was surprised in her heart. She looked with rapt attention, the lotus face of Lord Viśvambhara.

Caitanya Maṅgala, Madhya-khaṇḍa 11.207

caturdaśalokanātha māyā kaila dūra
sarvajīve dekhe śacī eka samatula

Jayapatākā Swami: The Supreme Lord of the fourteen worlds, threw away all the illusory māyā. Mother Śacī saw all the spirit souls/living entities with equal vision.

Caitanya Maṅgala, Madhya-khaṇḍa 11.208

seikṣaṇe viśvambhare kṛṣṇabuddhi haila!
‘āpana tanaya’ bali māyā dūra kaila

Jayapatākā Swami: At that moment mother Śacī realized that Lord Viśvambhara was actually Kṛṣṇa, was in truth, Lord Kṛṣṇa. “My son” saying this māyā was thrown far away.

Caitanya Maṅgala, Madhya-khaṇḍa 11.209

navamegha jini’ dyuti śyāmakalevara
tribhaṅga, muralīdhara, barapītāmbara

Jayapatākā Swami: Mother Śacī saw her son, having a darkish color, a dark form, defeating a host of new monsoon clouds, with a beautiful dark form, effulgent, a three-fold bending form, holding a flute and wearing a yellow garment.

Caitanya Maṅgala, Madhya-khaṇḍa 11.210

gopa, gopī, gopālera sane vṛndāvane
dekhila āpana putra cakita takhane

Jayapatākā Swami: Mother Śacī saw cowherd boys, cowherd girls and Lord Gopāla, in Vṛndāvana-dhāma, and when she saw this, she saw her son and then was startled.

Caitanya Maṅgala, Madhya-khaṇḍa 11.211

dekhi’ śacī camatkāra haila antare
pulake ākula aṅga-kampa kalevare

Jayapatākā Swami: Seeing this, mother Śacī, in her heart she was filled with wonder. Her hair was standing on end, and her body trembled in transcendental ecstasy.

Caitanya Maṅgala, Madhya-khaṇḍa 11.212

sneha nāhi chāḍe śacī āpana sambandha
kṛṣṇa hañā putra hailā bhāgyera nirbandha

Jayapatākā Swami: Mother Śacī did not give up her affection and her relationship with her son. She thought herself immensely fortunate, to have Lord Kṛṣṇa as her son.

Caitanya Maṅgala, Madhya-khaṇḍa 11.213

jagata-durlabha kṛṣṇa āmāra tanaya
kāru baśa nahe–mora-śaktye kibā haya

Jayapatākā Swami: Lord Kṛṣṇa who is difficult to achieve in this universe, is my son. He is not under the control of anyone. What power do I have over Him? So, mother Śacī was having the realization that her son was Kṛṣṇa. Although He was playing the part of a human being, of a devotee, He revealed to His mother, that actually He is Kṛṣṇa. So, their natural relationship was, she was the mother of Viśvambhara. So her realization was more expanded, and then she realized that her son was Kṛṣṇa. But her natural love for Kṛṣṇa never decreased.

Caitanya Maṅgala, Madhya-khaṇḍa 11.214

eta anumāni śacī kahila vacana
svatantra īśvara tumi puruṣaratana

Jayapatākā Swami: Thinking in this way, mother Śacī said, “You are the Supreme, You are the independent Personality of Godhead. You are the jewel of all personalities.”

Caitanya Maṅgala, Madhya-khaṇḍa 11.215

mora bhāgye yatadina chilā mora baśe
ekhana āpana-sukhe karaha sannyāse

Jayapatākā Swami: “Due to my good fortune, for all these days, You stayed under my control. Now for Your own happiness, accept sannyāsa.”

Caitanya Maṅgala, Madhya-khaṇḍa 11.216

eka nivedana mora āche tora ṭhāi
aichana sampada mora ki lāgiyā yāya

Jayapatākā Swami: One request I place before You. How can I lose the priceless treasure that You are?

Caitanya Maṅgala, Madhya-khaṇḍa 11.217

ihā bali’ sakaruṇa bhela kaṇṭhasvara
sāta pāñca dhārā gale nayanera jala

Jayapatākā Swami: Mother Śacī spoke in a voice pleading for mercy, seven or five streams of tears, flowed from her eyes to her neck.

Caitanya Maṅgala, Madhya-khaṇḍa 11.218

phukari phukari kānde śacī sucaritā
māyera kāndane prabhu heṭha kaila māthā

Jayapatākā Swami: Mother Śacī with a saintly character, she loudly cried and cried. When the Lord heard His mother’s crying, He bent His head down.

Caitanya Maṅgala, Madhya-khaṇḍa 11.219

punarapi mukha tuli’ kahe viśvambhara
śuna go jananī tumi āmāra uttara

Jayapatākā Swami: Again, raising His head, Lord Viśvambhara replied. “Oh, dear mother, please listen to My words.”

 Caitanya Maṅgala, Madhya-khaṇḍa 11.220

ye dina dekhite tumi cāha anurāge
seikṣaṇe āmā tumi dekhibāre pābe

Jayapatākā Swami: “Any day you wish or desire to see Me, that day, at that moment, you will be able to see Me at once.”

Caitanya Maṅgala, Madhya-khaṇḍa 11.221

e bola śuniyā śacī karaye krandana
vyathita-hṛdaye kahe e dāsa locana

Jayapatākā Swami: Hearing these words, mother Śacī wept, with pained heart, Locana dāsa speaks these words.

So, Śacī devī realized that her son was Kṛṣṇa. But still it didn’t decrease her love, and she was thinking how she was so fortunate to have Kṛṣṇa as her son. How can she lose Him? So, He promised, whenever she wants to see Him, at once, He will appear to her. So, this whole situation is very intense. Lord Caitanya’s instructions to His mother is more applicable to us, human beings, the conditioned souls. Because obviously Kṛṣṇa has nothing to gain or nothing to lose. He is the Absolute Truth, and everything is coming from Him. Just as Kṛṣṇa was leaving from Vṛndāvana to go to Mathurā, Lord Caitanya’s taking sannyāsa has put the different devotees in great separation, apprehending His departure. So in this way, He somewhat pacified mother Śacī. He promised to her that He will appear whenever she wants to see Him.

Thus ends the chapter, Viśvambara somewhat Pacifies Śacī-devī.
