Jayapatākā Swami: “Oh my dear king’s son, now is your time to play, pride and honor you are feeling in your heart, for no reason.”

Caitanya Maṅgala, Madhya-khaṇḍa 11.82

ekhana vana yāvāre tomāre nahe vidhi
vṛddhakāle bhajiha govinda guṇanidhi

Jayapatākā Swami: Now it is not right for you to traverse in the forest. When you are old, you can worship Govinda, the treasure house, the ocean of transcendental qualities.

Caitanya Maṅgala, Madhya-khaṇḍa 11.83

dhruva vele-vṛddhakāle kṛṣṇa seṁbo yadi
yuvākāle marile kemana tāra vidhi

Jayapatākā Swami: And Dhruva said to him, “If I worship Lord Kṛṣṇa when I am old, what will happen to me if I die in my youth? What will happen to me then?”

Caitanya Maṅgala, Madhya-khaṇḍa 11.84

ihā śuni mahāmuni haraṣita haila
dvādaśa akṣara-mantra dhruvere kahila

Jayapatākā Swami: The great muni, Nārada, hearing these words, he became happy. He gave a twelve syllables mantra to Dhruva Mahārāja. The word Dhruva means determined, so Dhurva was very determined, and seeing his determination, Nārada Muni awarded him initiation and gave him the twelve syllables mantra. So, his mother told Dhruva, please make the name I gave you, be true. So, he is doing that.

Caitanya Maṅgala, Madhya-khaṇḍa 11.85

pūrve kṛṣṇa nā bhajiyā pāila eta dukha
satāira vākyabāṇe viddha haila buka

Jayapatākā Swami: Dhruva said, I got so much suffering because previously I did not worship Lord Kṛṣṇa. Arrows of my step mother’s words have wounded my heart. Dhruva is explaining, why he wants to worship Lord Kṛṣṇa now.

Caitanya Maṅgala, Madhya-khaṇḍa 11.86

tumi baḍa dayāvān-muñi abhāgiyā
duḥkha dūra kara kṛṣṇa-upadeśa diyā

Jayapatākā Swami: You are very kind and I am very unfortunate. Please teach me about Lord Kṛṣṇa. Please cast my sufferings far away.

Caitanya Maṅgala, Madhya-khaṇḍa 11.87

hena pada laiba kṛṣṇa-sevāra prabhāve
yāhā nāhi pāya mora bāpa baḍabāpe

Jayapatākā Swami: By the power of serving Lord Kṛṣṇa, I will attain an exalted post which even my father or my grandfather had not attained.

Caitanya Maṅgala, Madhya-khaṇḍa 11.88

madhuvane yāha dhruva kālindīra tire
susthira āsana kari basi raha sthire

Jayapatākā Swami: “My dear Dhruva”, said Nārada muni, “go to the Madhuvana. On the Yamunā’s bank, sit in the yogic position, very calmly, always stay calm and determined.”

Caitanya Maṅgala, Madhya-khaṇḍa 11.89

bījamantra sadā tumi karaha sahāya
Oṁ namo bhagavate vāsudevāya

Jayapatākā Swami: You should take shelter of this bīja-mantra always – Oṁ namo bhagavate vāsudevāya.

Caitanya Maṅgala, Madhya-khaṇḍa 11.90

ei mantra sadā tumi kariha japa
sātadivasera mājhe pābe anubhava

Jayapatākā Swami: Always chant japa of this mantra, within seven days you will attain spiritual realization.

Caitanya Maṅgala, Madhya-khaṇḍa 11.91

dīkṣā-śikṣā pāñā dhruva hariṣa haila
praṇāma kariyā vṛndāvanere calilā

Jayapatākā Swami: Attaining initiation and getting the instruction, Dhruva became very happy. Offering his obeisances to Nārada Muni, he went to Vṛndāvana.

Caitanya Maṅgala, Madhya-khaṇḍa 11.92

kathokadivase āsi madhuvana pāila
kalpataru vṛkṣa dekhi avidyā chāḍila

Jayapatākā Swami: So he arrived in Madhuvana after some days and seeing the desire trees, kalpa-vṛkṣa trees, he became free of all ignorance.

Caitanya Maṅgala, Madhya-khaṇḍa 11.93

uttānapādera beṭā madhuvana pāya
ānande locanadāsa gaurāguṇa gāya

Jayapatākā Swami: In this way, Uttānapada’s son achieved Madhuvana. Locana dāsa Ṭhākura happily sings the transcendental qualities of Lord Gaurāṅga.

We see how Lord Caitanya is instructing His mother. Right now He is telling the story of Dhruva Mahārāja. We see that Dhruva Mahārāja, he wanted to achieve a kingdom, greater than his father’s or his grandfather’s. So he had some material desire, in the beginning. But being in Vṛndāvana, bathing in the holy Yamunā river, and then chanting this mantra he received from Nārada Muni, we can see what he will attain in the future. Dhruva’s pastime, we will continue tomorrow. Thank you very much!
