15 Sep 2022|Duration: 00:14:04|English|Initiation Address|Śrī Māyāpur, India

The following is a Diksa ceremony given by His Holiness Jayapatākā Swami Mahārāja on September 15th, 2022 in Śrī Dhāma, Māyāpur,India.

mūkaṁ karoti vācālaṁ paṅguṁ laṅghayate girim
yat-kṛpā tam ahaṁ vande śrī-guruṁ dīna-tāraṇam
paramānandaṁ mādhavaṁ śrī caitanya iśvaram

Hariḥ oṁ tat sat!

Jayapatākā Swami: Who has come from North Bengal? Raise your hand.

Jalpaiguri?

Cooch Behar?

Alipur Dwar?

Darjeeling?

Māyāpur? Haribol! Now the first initiation that is given, there are certain rules that we follow.

Not only Harināma.

There is yajña, nāma, I give japa-mālā and then kaṇṭhi-mālā and then you are bound with oath.

Who all have taken oath, please raise your hand.

4 regulative principles and 16 rounds of chanting are the rules.

I pray that Śrīla Prabhupāda the instructions that he gave me, you will help me fulfill those.

I want that all of you go back to Godhead.

May this be the last human birth.

Now if we do karma then we go to heaven.

Vikarma if we do we go back to hell.

We have to do akarma means, whatever we do we do for the pleasure of the Lord.

This is called yukta-vairāgya.

We don’t work for the satisfaction of our material senses.

If we live in this material world, there will be happiness and distress.

There will be more distress.

That is why Lord Kṛṣṇa said in the Bhagavad-gītā, this material world is duḥkhālayam aśāśvatam.

Now, all the time there should chanting of the Lord, kīrtana of the Lord, remembering the Lord, this way we can go back to the Lord.

Now Nāmahaṭṭa has opened the doors that the devotees can surrender to the Lord and go back to Godhead.

The non devotees who are made devotees by preaching, this is a special service to Lord Kṛṣṇa.

This way, every day those who read Bhagavad-gītā and Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam they are fortunate.

Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu said to Devānanda Paṇḍita that at the beginning, middle and end of Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam is said Kṛṣṇa’s service!

Wherever the mango is got from we get the flavor of mango.

In the Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam there is always teachings of service to the Lord.

We want that all of you should do service to the Lord.

Make Kṛṣṇa the center of our life.

Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu said, gṛhe thāko vane thāko sadā hari bole ḍāko.

If we chant the names of the Lord, read the Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam, eat kṛṣṇa-prasāda, then this way we can serve Lord Caitanya.

Now Śrīla Bhaktivinoda Ṭhākura said that the temple is like a bazar and the place of pilgrimage is a big bazar.

Nāmahaṭṭa is like a shop.

There are many shops in a bazar, liquor shop etc.

What do these people sell in Nāmahaṭṭa – the name.

And you buy the name with your śraddhā, faith.

This is the special path given by Śrīla Bhaktivinoda Ṭhākura.

We have tried to reestablish the Nāmahaṭṭa.

Those who have come to take initiation, I am very happy.

Dīkṣā means that all your life, the rest of your life, you will dedicate to the service of Kṛṣṇa.

In Kali-yuga going on now, māyā will test you in many ways.

Give you happiness and distress and test you.

We have to be very steadfast and tolerate everything and think I will only serve Kṛṣṇa and don’t want anything else.

Haribol! You have heard a lot today. I wont talk much now. Will end now.
