Jayapatākā Swami: I am very happy to visit Ananta Ānanda deśa. We are reading in the Caitanya-līlā something every day. Today Sārvabhauma Bhaṭṭācārya saw Lord Caitanya and He saw His hands were very long, His neck like a conch, His eyes like the lotus, and His eyes were so long almost reaching up to His ears. He was effulgent like the moon. [inaudible]. When Sārvabhauma Bhaṭṭācārya saw that these were not the characteristics of an ordinary human being. Even if the demigods had them was a doubt. He thought that He was the Lord Nārāyaṇa, who had descended from the spiritual world. Lord Caitanya seeing Lord Jagannātha became so overwhelmed in ecstasy, He wanted to embrace Lord Jagannātha. But He was feeling so much intense love for the Lord that He fainted. Whoever saw this that He had fainted and fallen down so forcefully that He may not survive. The guards wanted to take Him away and thought that some mad man wants to embrace Lord Jagannātha. But Sārvabhauma Bhaṭṭācārya saw that with His characteristics, He was not an ordinary person. He saved Lord Caitanya.
When He was in Navadvīpa the Chand Kazi objected to the Harināma kīrtana. Then he destroyed the mṛdaṅgas and kohl. He threatened that he would kill anyone who did kīrtana. Lord Caitanya said that all the Navadvīpa residents would stage a walk to the Chand Kazi and there were four groups. One group was headed by Advaita Gosāñi. Another group was headed by Haridāsa Ṭhākura. Another group was headed by Śrīvāsa Ṭhākura. The fourth group was headed by Lord Caitanya and Lord Nityānanda and Gadādhara Prabhu. They did so much kīrtana in all Navadvīpa that lakhs and lakhs of people joined. And even the demigods, Indradeva and other demigods came to see the kīrtana. But seeing Lord Caitanya dancing and singing in such ecstasy, the demigods fainted. When they regained their consciousness, they took up the form of humans and joined the kīrtana party. Haribol! Nitāi Gaura Haribol!
This way everyone felt unlimited happiness in the kīrtana. We hope that all of you hearing about Lord Caitanya will also feel unlimited happiness. In the adhivāsa kīrtana, there is a kīrtana – ānander sīmā nai, ānander sīmā nāi, nirānanda dūre jāi, nirānanda dūre jāi. Generally, people, we think that in India we will be very happy. But in India there is happiness and suffering too. Now the corona virus pandemic is going on, and many are suffering. Now in India there are different types of suffering. That way there is some suffering and then some happiness. But in love of Kṛṣṇa, there is no limit. We hope that everyone will get the happiness of kṛṣṇa-prema. Lord Caitanya had come to us to distribute kṛṣṇa-prema. So much so that He liberated the rogues Jagāi and Mādhāi. Now Lord Caitanya’s mercy is unlimited. With His mercy, our lives will be perfected. There are go-dāsas and go-svāmīs. One is that we will serve our senses – these are go-dāsas. And bhakti-yoga is hṛṣīkeṇa hṛṣīkeśa-sevanaṁ bhaktir ucyate. That we serve the Lord of the senses Hṛṣikeśa with our senses. Now the devotees of the Lord get so much happiness. But Lord Caitanya came to show that being a devotee of the Lord gives us so much more happiness. And by serving the Lord, we get more happiness. We are busy experiencing the happiness that animals experience. But we want to stay in the service of the Lord, being His servant and be happy. And by doing kīrtana and chanting His names we can get the association of the Lord. There is no difference between the Lord and His name. If we chant the names of the Lord that way, then Kṛṣṇa will be very happy. I am very happy that this time I am able to visit Ananta Ānanda deśa. Hare Kṛṣṇa!
