Jayapatākā Swami: They went to the temple and saw the catur-vyūha Lord Jagannātha, who is manifest all transcendental happiness and who is accompanied by His devotees.

Purport by Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura: Śrī Jagannātha is nondifferent from Vāsudeva, one of the quadruple expansions of the Supreme Lord. Pradyumna and Aniruddha are included in Him.

Jayapatākā Swami: Lord Baladeva is expanded separately. Pradyumna and Aniruddha are included within Lord Jagannātha, so they are the catur-vyūha.

Caitanya-Bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 2.468

dekhi’ sabe lāgilena karite krandana / daṇḍavata pradakṣiṇa karena stavana /

Jayapatākā Swami: When all the devotees saw Lord Jagannātha, they began to cry. They offered their prostrated obeisances, circumambulated their Lordships, and then recited prayers.

Murāri Gupta Kaḍaca 3.11.16: The all-opulent Lord went with him to the mandira of Śrī Hari, and there He saw the transcendental Personality of Godhead, Puruṣottama Jagannātha, with His eyes resembling blue lotuses.

Caitanya Carita Mahā Kāvya 12.6: With Sārvabhauma’s son, he arrived at the temple and happily but cautiously entered. He saw the jewel in the crown of Nīlācala, Jagannātha, and sunk in an ocean of bliss.

Murāri Gupta Kaḍaca 3.11.17: Upon seeing Him, the slender form of Gaurāṅga, which resembled a golden mountain peak, became entranced with blossoming mellows. Tears of love formed waterfalls which inundated His effulgent moon-like face and flooded His broad chest. Then trembling profusely, He tumbled to the ground as if struck by a hurricane. Jayapatākā Swami: This explains some of the ecstatic symptoms of Lord Caitanya as He had the darśan of Lord Jagannātha, Baladeva and Subhadrā Deity.

Caitanya Carita Mahā Kāvya 12.7: Gazing at the Lord, he offered repeated respects and prayers, and bathed his body in his tears. Circumambulating five times, with difficulty he left the temple.

Caitanya Carita Mahā Kāvya 12.8: Seeing the Lord, the jewel in the crown of Nīlācala, he felt bliss. Making a necklace of the jewels of the Lord’s names, he placed this on his neck and shone constantly. Jayapatākā Swami: So, Lord Caitanya when He had the darśana of Lord Jagannātha deity, He was experiencing the supreme symptoms of ecstatic love and that was His darśana of Lord Jagannātha actually seeing Kṛṣṇa Himself. For the atheist they think these are idols, but we can see from this pastime Lord Caitanya was actually having audience with the Lord.

Caitanya Maṅgala, Madhya-khaṇḍa 16.164

garuḍera pāche rahi’ thira-diṭhe cāya / dekhila śrī-mukha-candra tri-jagata-rāya /

Jayapatākā Swami: Lord Caitanya stood behind the Garuḍa-stambha, the column of Garuḍa. He looked steadily at the graceful moonlike face of Lord Jagannātha, the Lord of the three worlds.

ati-ulasita hiyā bharala ānanda / aṅga ācchādila ghana pulaka-kadamba /

āra saba bhaktagaṇa nācaye hariṣe / rādhā-kānu-guṇagāna kīrtana prakāśe /

Jayapatākā Swami: All the assembled devotee danced joyfully. There were manifesting a great kīrtana chanting, glorifying the transcendental qualities of Śri Śri Rādhā-Kṛṣna. So, we can see that Lord Caitanya and His associates were dancing and chanting the glories of Rādhā Kṛṣṇa. they were spontaneously inspired to chant in great bliss and dance in ecstasy.

Murāri Gupta Kaḍaca 3.11.18: Thus, Bhagavān Śrī Caitanya fainted upon the earth. His hands were clenched, and His garments and belt were scattered. Realizing that the Lord was oblivious to externals, the brāhmaṇa-priests at once lifted Him by His two arms and took Him from the temple of Jagannātha.

Jayapatākā Swami: So, first time, when He was in the temple, the guards thought that He was crazy then He was saved by Sārvabhauma Bhaṭṭācārya. But now the priest of the temple understood that He is in ecstasy and He is no longer aware of the externals, now they help Him out of the temple.

Jayapatākā Swami: The brāhmaṇa priests happily brought Lord Jagannātha’s personal flower garlands and offered them to the devotees’ neck.

Translation: Everyone was pleased to receive this garland worn by Lord Jagannātha. Afterwards they all returned to the place where Lord Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu was staying. Jayapataka Swami: So, Lord Jagannātha reciprocated with Lord Caitanya devotees Through His priest He offered the prasāda garlands to the devotees. They were happy to receive Lord’s mercy and then they went where Lord Caitanya was staying, Sārvabhauma Bhaṭṭācārya house.
