20201025 Homage to Yaśomatī Nandana Prabhu [ACBSP] Smṛti-sabhā

vāñchā-kalpa-tarubhyaś ca
kṛpā-sindhubhya eva ca
patitānāṁ pāvanebhyo
vaiṣṇavebhyo namo namaḥ

So, it is a very distressful thing, when we have to lose the association of such a dear devotee of Śrīla Prabhupāda. He was sent to Gujarat and he basically established temples in Ahmedabad and Surat. (I know Bāsu Ghoṣa is in Baroda.) Generally, though he (Yaśomati Nandana Prabhu) was responsible for the whole of Gujarat. And sometimes I would visit Gujarat and he was always very kind to me. We were discussing some of his children, how they can be Kṛṣṇa conscious, like that we talked about various things. He was a BBT trustee, Bureau member, he was zonal secretary, so many things.

When I heard he was sick with Covid, I immediately called him up and I talked to him. And I said, we have to doctors who have some experience and they can (handle Covid). At that time, he was saying, “I am feeling better!” So, actually, we use the Russian, Chinese, various Ayurvedic cures, and one cure is there in Ahmedabad, and we tried that on some devotees, it seems to be helping them. Some billionaires from Florida said, “If I would have known that, about Bhakti Cāru Swami’s…” he would have given this medicine. So, we got that medicine from Ahmedabad and we were trying to get him and take that medicine, but this disease is very tricky. It has a honeymoon period. Sometimes, they feel great, then afterward booom! So, this seems to be the thing that he had. Anyway, I was praying to Kṛṣṇa, Narasimhadeva that, “If They so please, let him stay! Because we need his association!” I don’t have much personal exchanges as those in the western India. But I have… definitely very much, “Prabhupāda’s man!” and he always tried to do the most Kṛṣṇa conscious things. And he had very nice, Kṛṣṇa conscious children; and family members. And he had built a beautiful temple in Ahmedabad and Surat. And, while we are trying to develop the congregational preaching, he was always encouraging us. And he was very happy when I called him up, of course, I wish, I could have done more. But certainly, he will live far ever with Śrīla Prabhupāda. I feel that, people like this, who are pioneers in ISKCON, they should have a place in Māyāpur’s Memorial Park. They said that, to do the visarjana in the Ganges, we only need hundred grams (of ashes), rest of the ashes could be kept for the devotees to circumambulate. Somehow, the Bureau should make some request to the GBC, because I am fighting this alone. But I think that such persons like Yaśomatī Nandana Prabhu, who is the pioneer in starting ISKCON in Gujarat. He deserves a special remembrance. Anyway, I still have very… after my stroke I went one time to Gujarat straight. And he was very kindly came and talked for many days actually. So, for me, I feel these are very great generals who did the trailblazing work in ISKCON, (pioneer work). Anyway, I am offering my homage and others have much more. May be more personal experiences. Many of disciples are working under Yaśomatī Nandana Prabhu in Gujarat and they are very happy. He always guides them Kṛṣṇa consciously. Hare Kṛṣṇa.
