20201021 Zoom Shelter Ceremony Address to School Preaching Department

The following is a Zoom Address to School Preaching Department in Śrī Dhāma Māyāpur, India by His Holiness Jayapatākā Swami Mahārāja on October 21st, 2020.

mūkaṁ karoti vācālaṁ paṅguṁ laṅghayate girim
yat-kṛpā tam ahaṁ vande śrī-guruṁ dīna-tāraṇam
paramānandaṁ mādhavaṁ śrī caitanya iśvaram

Hariḥ oṁ tat sat!

Jayapatākā Swami: Caitanya Mahāprabhu had said gṛhe thāko vane thāko sadā hari bole ḍāko. Be a gṛhastha, brahmacārī or a vairāgi, we have to perform special services in Kṛṣṇa consciousness and sing and chant the names of the Lord.

When Lord Caitanya went to Śāntipura after taking sannyāsa, then all the gṛhastha devotees from Navadvīpa came there to see Him. Lord Caitanya embraced each of the devotees. And He told me to go back home and chant the names of Kṛṣṇa. Now that is our system to chant the names of Kṛṣṇa. Now in this time, there is the pandemic going on. Because many people have broken the laws of nature and are eating meat. That is why the disease has spread from the animals to humans. In India less number of people have died. Many people have recovered from the disease. But when they get the disease, people suffer. And, we don’t know what will happen. We hope that everyone will chant the names of God, which will please the Lord. And that way, after death will go back home back to Godhead. This way, every one of you are studying the Bhagavad-gītā, which is very good. Caitanya Mahāprabhu says, bolo-kṛṣṇa, bhaja-kṛṣṇa, kara-kṛṣṇa-śikṣā. Kṛṣṇa’s śikṣā, teachings are the Bhagavad-gītā which was spoken by the Lord Himself. And the other is Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam which is about the pastimes, qualities and characteristics of Lord Kṛṣṇa. This way when we read the Bhagavad-gītā and Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam, the instructions of Lord Caitanya will be fulfilled. And if we read and study the various pastimes of Lord Caitanya, then we will understand the movement of Lord Caitanya. And there are many books concerning Śrīla Prabhupāda from which we understand many things about Śrīla Prabhupāda. The way how on receiving the instructions, he preached and spread the instructions of Lord Caitanya all over the world.
