Jayapatākā Swami: Lord Caitanya happily passed the entire night with the devotees discussing various confidential topics about Lord Krsna.

Purport (by Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura): The Lord passed the entire night with the devotees relishing uninterrupted happiness by discussing confidential topics regarding Kṛṣṇa, the transcendental form of attraction for all kinds of devotees.

Jayapatākā Swami: At the end of the night, Lord Caitanya did His daily morning duties. And He sat down with all His servitors, surrounding Him on all sides.

Jayapatākā Swami: So the devotees said, “O Lord, do as You wish. Who has the power to make You do otherwise?

Purport (by Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura): In the Chāndogya Upaniṣad (3.14.2) the Lord is described as satya-saṅkalpaḥ, “He whose desire always comes to pass.” In the Nārada-pañcarātra (1.12.26) it is stated: “The Lord is unapproachable by the Vedas. He is supremely independent, the controller of all, eternal, truthful, transcendental to mundane qualities, effulgent, and primeval.”

tathāpiha haiyāche durghaṭa samaya
se rājye ekhana keha patha nāhi vaya

Jayapatākā Swami: Still it is time of dangers. Nobody travels to that kingdom, along the path, at this time.

Purport (by Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura): Since the Mohammedan kings of Bengal made a huge arrangement to attack the kingdom of Orissa, travelers from Bengal to Nīlācala became greatly apprehensive. The Mohammedan king of Bengal had for a long time instigated his subordinates to attack Orissa. What to speak of this, shortly thereafter the King even planned to personally lead an attack to destroy Orissa with Sanātana Gosvāmī at his side. The same year that Śrī Gaurasundara returned from Kānāi Nāṭaśālā while on the way to Vṛndāvana, the devotees had warned Him of the dangersof traveling to Vṛndāvana.

Jayapatākā Swami: So the Nawab Hussain Shah of Bengal, he was arranging to attack Odisha, and therefore the devotees were apprehensive, that if at this time the Lord travels, it may be dangerous.

Caitanya-Bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 2.012

Jayapatākā Swami: “There is great animosity between the two kingdoms, and great thieves are creating havoc at various places

Caitanya-Bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 2.013

yāvat utpāta nāhi upaśama haya
tāvat viśrāma kara' yadi citte laya”

Jayapatākā Swami: “Until such disturbances subside, until then, You can wait here, if You like.”

Caitanya-Bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 2.014

prabhura nīlācala gamane dṛḍha saṅkalpa—

prabhu bale,—“ye-se-kene utpāta nā haya
avaśya caliba muñi kahinu niścaya”

Jayapatākā Swami: Lord Caitanya said, I have decided, I must go, regardless of any disturbances.

Caitanya-Bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 2.015

advaitera ukti—

bujhilena advaita prabhura citta-vṛtta
calilena nīlācale, nā haila nivṛtta

Jayapatākā Swami: Lord Advaita understood Lord Caitanya’s intention. He could not be stopped from going to Nīlācala.

Caitanya-Bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 2.016

yoḍa-haste satya kathā lāgilā kahite
“ke pāre tomāra patha-virodha karite?

Jayapatākā Swami: So Lord Advaita folded His hands and spoke, the following truth. Who can obstruct Your path?

Caitanya-Bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 2.017

yata vighna āche sarva kiṅkara tomāra
tomāre karite vighna śakti āche kāra

Jayapatākā Swami: “All the obstacles are Your servitors. So therefore, who has the power to place obstacles before You?

Purport (by Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura): In the Brahma-saṁhitā (5.50) it is stated:

yat-pāda-pallava-yugaṁ vinidhāya kumbha-
dvandve praṇāma-samaye sa gaṇādhirājaḥ

vighnān vihantum alam asya jagat-trayasya
govindam ādi-puruṣaṁ tam ahaṁ bhajāmi

“I worship the primeval Lord, Govinda. Gaṇeśa always holds His lotus feet upon the pair of tumuli protruding from his elephant head in order to obtain power for his function of destroying all obstacles on the path of progress in the three worlds.” In the Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam (11.4.10) it is stated: “The demigods place many obstacles on the path of those who worship You to transcend the temporary abodes of the demigods and reach Your supreme abode. Those who offer the demigods their assigned shares in sacrificial performances encounter no such obstacles. But because You are the direct protector of Your devotee, he is able to step over the head of whatever obstacle the demigods place before him.” So, the obstacles may come from many places. So one has to take shelter of Lord Kṛṣṇa. By His mercy, one can cross over all the obstacles, if one performs the saṅkīrtana-yajña, then the devas also receive their share, and they should be happy.

Caitanya-Bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 2.018

śuniyā advaita-vākya prabhu sukhī hailā

Jayapatākā Swami: On hearing Lord Advaita's words, the Lord Caitanya became pleased. With great satisfaction He began chanting the names of Lord Hari. Haribol! Haribol!

Caitanya-Bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 2.020

prabhura nīlācala-yātrā—

Jayapatākā Swami: At that moment Lord Caitanya Mahāprabhu departed for Nīlācala, walking like a maddened lion on his auspicious journey.

Jayapatākā Swami: All the devotees were running behind Him, no one of them could stop their crying. Devotees were feeling such separation that they ran behind Lord Caitanya and crying in ecstasy.

Caitanya-Bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 2.022

kata dūra giyā prabhu śrī-gaurasundara

Jayapatākā Swami: After walking some distance, Lord Śrī Gaurasundara solaced everyone by speaking sweet words. So, Lord Caitanya had addressed all the devotees, who were following Him, with sweet words, requesting them (to go home.)

Caitanya-Bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 2.023

“citte keha kona kichu nā bhāviha vyathā

Jayapatākā Swami: “Do not feel any sadness in your heart. for I will never leave all of you, under any circumstance.

Caitanya-Bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 2.024

kṛṣṇa nāma laha sabe vasi' giyā ghare
āmiha āsiba dina-kataka-bhitare”

Jayapatākā Swami: “Chant the name of Lord Krsna, while sitting at your house. I will come within a few days.”

Purport (by Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura): While sending the devotees home, Śrī Gaurasundara solaced them as follows: “Go home and chant the names of Kṛṣṇa. I am going to Nīlācala with the desire to glorify the Supreme Lord from place to place. In due course of time, I will return and meet you. By the strength of chanting the pure name of Kṛṣṇa, you will not face any difficulties, even while living at home. You are all liberated souls. Therefore you are all qualified to chant the name of Kṛṣṇa. As a result of perfection in chanting the name of Kṛṣṇa, you will be attracted to Kṛṣṇa's forms, qualities, associates, characteristics, and pastimes. Then I will meet you again and reveal to you the states of immortality and freedom from lamentation and fear.”
