Jayapatākā Swami: In this way Lord Caitanya Mahāprabhu He arrived, HE went and after a few days He arrived in the bank of river of Suvarṇarekhā River.

Purport by Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura: Mahāprabhu came to one particular village on the bank of the Suvarṇarekhā River. Gaurasundara arrived at the place on the bank of the Suvarṇarekhā River where all travelers to Jagannātha Purī cross the river.

Caitanya-bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 2.191

suvarṇarekhāra jala parama nirmala
snāna karilena prabhu vaiṣṇava-sakala

Jayapatākā Swami: The water of the Suvarṇarekhā River was supremely pure and Lord Caitanya and all the Vaiṣṇavas took their bath in the river.

Caitanya-bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 2.192

snāna kari' svarṇarekhā-nadī dhanya kari'
calilena śrī-gaurasundara narahari

Jayapatākā Swami: Śrī Gaurasundara, Lord Hari in the form of a human being, made the Suvarṇarekhā river glorious by taking His bath in her waters and then continuing on in His journey.

Caitanya-bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 2.193

jagadānandera sahita bahu paścāte śrīnityānandera avasthāna—
rahilā aneka pāche nityānanda-candra
saṁhati tāṅhāra sabe śrī-jagadānanda

Jayapatākā Swami: Lord Nityānanda-candra in the company of Śrī Jagadānanda Paṇḍita fall far behind.

Caitanya-bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 2.194

kata-dūre gauracandra vasilena giyā
nityānanda-svarūpera apekṣā kariyā

Jayapatākā Swami: Lord Gauracandra went some distance ahead and then sat down to wait for Lord Nityānanda Svarūpa.

Caitanya-bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 2.195

śrī-caitanyera āveśe nityānandera avasthā—
caitanya-āveśe matta nityānanda-rāya
vihvalera mata vyavasāya sarvathāya

Jayapatākā Swami: Lord Nityānanda prabhu was intoxicated in ecstasy. Being absorbed in thoughts of Lord Caitanya, He was always restless and He was as if overwhelmed in thoughts of Lord Caitanya. So Nityānanda prabhu who was thinking of Lord Caitanya, he totally became ecstatic and overwhelmed in mood of Lord Caitanya.

Caitanya-bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 2.196

kakhana huṅkāra kare, kakhana rodana
kṣaṇe mahā aṭṭa-hāsya, kṣaṇe vā garjana

Jayapatākā Swami: Sometimes He shouted loudly, and sometimes He was crying. Sometimes He loudly laughed, and sometimes He made thundering roaring sounds. Lord Nityānanda was absorbed in the mood ecstatic love inspired by Lord Caitanya.

Caitanya-bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 2.197

kṣaṇe vā nadīra mājhe eḍena sāṅtāra
kṣaṇe sarva-aṅge dhūlā mākhena apāra

Jayapatākā Swami: Sometimes He would swim in the middle of the river, and sometimes He would smear dust all over His body.

Caitanya-bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 2.198

kṣaṇe vā ye āchāḍa khāyena prema-rase
cūrṇa haya aṅga hena sarva-loke vāse

Jayapatākā Swami: Sometimes in ecstatic love He would fall so forcibly to the ground that everyone would think His limbs and body were broken.

Caitanya-bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 2.199

āpanā’-āpani nṛtya karena kakhana
ṭalamala karaye pṛthivī tata-kṣaṇa

Jayapatākā Swami: Sometimes He would dance on His own, and the earth would then sway back and forth. This is describing Lord Nityānanda ecstatic dancing.

Caitanya-bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 2.200

e sakala kathā tāne kichu citra naya
avatīrṇa āpane ananta mahāśaya

Jayapatākā Swami: All such pastimes are not so astonishing for Him, for He was Lord Ananta mahāśayadeva who has descended in this world.

Caitanya-bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 2.201

nityānanda-kṛpāya e saba śakti haya
niravadhi gauracandra yāṅhāra hṛdaya

Jayapatākā Swami: By Lord Nityānanda's mercy, all these pastimes were possible. Constantly Lord Nityānanda kept Lord Gauracandra in His heart. So if someone keeps Lord Gaurāṅga or Lord Caitanya in his heart then he can also feel ecstasy all time. By the mercy of Lord Nityānanda we may have Lord Gaurāṅga in our heart.

Thus Ends the Chapter, Bathing in Suvarṇarekhā and Nityānanda Prabhu's Ecstasy

I want to thank all the devotees, for their generous contribution for prasāda distribution and sponsoring, and distributing different books. We heard that His Holiness Kadamba Kānana Swami has tested for COVID 19. We are praying for his quick recovery, and recovery of other devotees with him. Hare Kṛṣṇa, Hare Kṛṣṇa, Kṛṣṇa Kṛṣṇa, Hare Hare/ Hare Rāma, Hare Rāma, Rāma Rāma, Hare Hare. If Kṛṣṇa so pleases, may His Holiness Kadamba Kānana Swami and other devotees recover.

Question: Hare Kṛṣṇa Guru Mahārāja! Please accept my respectful obeisances. All glories to Śrīla Prabhupāda. I have two questions. First question is what is the significance of breaking Ekādaśī-vrata on time? Is it an offence if I fail to do so? If it is so, what is my atonement? If at all we breakfast after the said time, is it equivalent to not fasting at all?

Jayapatākā Swami: Apparently one should break the fast, at the time which is called parāṇa. At that time, one should take grain. If one doesn’t do that then I think they have to do the Ekādaśī fast again, on the Trayodaśī.

Question: Can Mātājīs worship Śālagrāma-śilā? – Nakulānda Gaurāṅga dāsa, Malaysia.

Jayapatākā Swami: Many are doing; I don’t know if any particular which śāstra prohibits it. If there is any śāstra prohibiting, please send me.
