20200928 Zoom Session with Tripura Devotees

The following is a Zoom Session with Tripura Devotees by His Holiness Jayapatākā Swami Mahārāja on September 28th,2020 in Śrī Dhāma Māyāpur, India.

mūkaṁ karoti vācālaṁ paṅguṁ laṅghayate girim
yat-kṛpā tam ahaṁ vande śrī-guruṁ dīna-tāraṇam
paramānandaṁ mādhavaṁ śrī caitanya iśvaram

Hariḥ oṁ tat sat!

Jayapatākā Swami: I am very happy that I could come to Tripura. The Mahārāja of Tripura in ancient times, he was a trustee in Māyāpur in the Yogapīṭha or maybe a patron. Anyway, there has been a connection of Tripura with Lord Caitanya over a long period of time. I am very happy that we have a saṅgha in Tripura. Earlier there was His Holiness Svarūpa Dāmodara Swami. He came from Manipur. He was a PhD scientist. He tried to serve Śrīla Prabhupāda in various ways. He went back to Godhead. Now, we are trying to see that Tripura advances. There is His Holiness Bhakti Puruṣottama Swami, who is preaching. I am very grateful that Śrīdhāma Govinda is trying to preach there. From ancient times, Prema Datta Prabhu is serving there. Now I hope that Kṛṣṇa consciousness expands in Tripura.

Lord Caitanya came in Navadvīpa dhāma. He came to liberate the fallen souls and came to do so in Navadvīpa dhāma. Kṛṣṇa was in Dvāpara-yuga. If one wanted His Prema one would have to surrender completely to Him. But Lord Caitanya and Lord Nityānanda were so merciful that all the sinners and miscreants, all were delivered by the Harināma. Lord Caitanya did kīrtana in Navadvīpa and there were lakhs and lakhs of people present. And that kīrtana was extremely attractive. So much so that devas from Svarga like Lord Indra came. When they saw the Supreme Personality of Godhead doing kīrtana, singing, dancing, they fainted in ecstasy. When they regained consciousness, they took human form and joined the kīrtana. Haribol! Nitāi Gaura Haribol! Haribol! Hari Hari Haribol! Vṛndāvana dāsa Ṭhākura said that the way ladies were doing ulu-dhvani, if we were to describe that, it would take about one lakh years! Can the ladies in Tripura do ulu-dhvani? Rukmiṇī Devī told Lord Kṛṣṇa that, “You know what Lord Brahmā is doing in Satyaloka. You know what Lord Śiva is doing in Kailāsa. But You don’t know one thing. I know, Rādhārāṇī knows, but You don’t know!” “Oh what is that I don’t know?” Kṛṣṇa said. Rukmiṇī said, “Yes, You don’t know!” Kṛṣṇa asked, “What is it?” Rukmiṇī said, “You don’t know how much Your devotees love You and in what way they love You.” Kṛṣṇa took up this challenge. He took the mood of a devotee and came as Lord Caitanya. Haribol! Gaurāṅga! Gaurāṅgadeva came with the mood and color of Rādhārāṇī. Balarāma came as Nitāi. Rukmiṇī Devī told Lord Kṛṣṇa that, “You know what Lord Brahmā is doing in Satyaloka. You know what Lord Śiva is doing in Kailāsa. But You don’t know one thing. He took the mood of a devotee and came as Lord Caitanya. Haribol! Gaurāṅga! Gaurāṅgadeva came with the mood and color of Rādhārāṇī. Balarāma came as Nitāi. Nitāi-Gaura, They enjoyed so much in the mood of devotees.

Yesterday we were reading that Lord Nitāi came from Katwa to Navadvīpa. On the way, He held a flute and took the three-fold form of Śyāmasundara. He would suddenly sit down on the road and would cry loudly. Ha! Ha! He would sometimes laugh loudly. He felt so much ecstasy in love of Lord Caitanya. Lord Caitanya’s clothes became wet and had hairs standing on end. He fainted sometimes. This way Nitāi-Gaura being devotees felt so happy. When Lord Caitanya left Navadvīpa to take sannyāsa, the Navadvīpa-vāsīs were almost dying in separation. They were unconscious. Śacīmātā was fasting for 12 days. Nityānanda Prabhu came and He told everyone to come as Lord Caitanya Mahāprabhu would be coming to Advaita Gosāñī’s house in Śāntipura. And He told Śacīmātā that, “I am hungry, please cook and give Me kṛṣṇa-prasāda.” Śacīmātā forgot all her sorrows and offered kṛṣṇa-prasāda to Nityānanda Prabhu. The Navadvīpa-vāsīs were in so much separation then. We are so unfortunate they said that in His absence we did not feel separation. Lord Caitanya Mahāprabhu has taught us that serving Lord Kṛṣṇa in separation is the best path.

His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupāda has given us so much blessings. He went around the world 14 times and spread Kṛṣṇa consciousness all over. He distributed the mercy of Lord Caitanya. Now, Tripura is a special place. And here everyone can get the mercy of Lord Caitanya. If we want Lord Caitanya, He will give us mercy.

The Bhagavad-gītā teaches that we are not this body, we are the eternal spirit soul. And whether we are gṛhasthas or sannyāsīs, our body should be offered in the service of Kṛṣṇa. Gṛhe thāko vane thāko sadā hari bole ḍāko. If we chant the names of Kṛṣṇa, our life will be successful. In previous yugas, there was meditation, homas and temple worship but in Kali-yuga we are not qualified to do any of these. That is why in the Kali-yuga Kṛṣṇa came in the form of His holy name. There is no difference between Kṛṣṇa and His name. Nāmnām akāri bahudhā nija-sarva-śaktis. All the strength and potency of the Lord is present in His holy name. That is why if we chant His name then we can get the association of the Lord and all our obstacles will be removed.

Every day I give class at 7pm India time. I don’t know if you all see this class. It is shown in Facebook Bangla, English and other languages. I had wanted to come to Tripura for long and now we had the opportunity. I hope that I will be able to come time and again.
