Oṃ tat sat !

Jayapatākā Swami: Lord Caitanya, He walked through Vijayawada. He went also to Maṅgalagiri. On the hill going up are the lotus feet of Lord Caitanya. I tell people at the foot of the Maṅgalagiri is a new temple, established by Yudhiṣṭhira Mahārāja. Because Maṅgalagiri temple is so ancient that it exists yuga after yuga. And the temple at the foothill is 5000 years old, which is relatively new. Anyway, Lord Caitanya visited Vijayawada so this place is blessed. So His foot dust has come on this city. Also, the Kṛṣṇa river is a holy river, and our temple is near to the Kṛṣṇā river.

Lord Caitanya, He appeared in Navadvīpa where I am staying. He stayed as a gṛhastha for 24 years. And then He took sannyāsa and He visited for six years to South India. He came from Jagannātha Purī to Andhra Pradesh and He gave similar orders all over South India. Yāre dekha, tāre kaha ’kṛṣṇa’-upadeśa (Cc. Madhya 7.128) Whosoever you meet tell them the message of Lord Kṛṣṇa. Āmāra ājñāya guru hañā tāra’ ei deśa— on my order be a guru and deliver your country. He also told that the people of India should perfect their lives and help others.

bhārata-bhūmite haila manuṣya-janma yāra
janma sārthaka kari’ kara para-upakāra

(Cc. Ādi 9.41)

Those who have human birth in the land of Bhārata, they should perfect their lives and help others. Lord Kṛṣṇa visited a few houses. But Lord Caitanya would visit a new house every day for six years! Except for the four months of the rainy season when He would stay in some place. One year He stayed in Śrīraṅgam for the rainy season.

So then while He was in Navadvīpa He started the saṅkīrtana movement. The Chand Kazi forbade Him to chant. He broke the mṛdaṅga drum. But Lord Caitanya said to organize a massive protest kīrtana. Lakhs and lakhs of people gathered together. Some estimate that millions of people gathered. Carrying a torch in one hand and a pot of oil in another. There were four parties, one led by Advaita Ācārya, one led by Śrīvāsa Ṭhākura, one led by Haridāsa Ṭhākura and one by Lord Caitanya with Lord Nityānanda and Gadādhara. The kīrtana sound was so great that it covered the whole universe. It penetrated the universe and went to Vaikuṇṭha, the spiritual world. Different devas like Indra and others came down to see. When Lord Indra, Vāyudeva and other devas saw the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Bhagavān, chanting, crying in kīrtana, they fainted in ecstasy! When then gained consciousness again, they took human form and joined in the kīrtana. The Apsarās from the heaven were showering flowers. The road was covered with flower petals. All the doorways were decorated with pūrṇa-kumbhas, with banana trees and banana bunches, sugarcane stalks, mango leaves. Everything auspicious was happening. When the atheists, the pāṣaṇḍīs saw this, they became swept away by kṛṣṇa-prema! They started raising their hands and chanting and dancing, rolling on the ground! Haribol! Haribol! Gaurāṅga! Everyone was chanting, dancing, there was a huge kīrtana. Like Lord Kṛṣṇa had the Kurukṣetra war, Lord Caitanya had this saṅkīrtana-yajña. It is said that by carrying a torch oil at the same time they were clapping and playing on musical instruments. How is that possible? Vṛndāvana dāsa Ṭhākura said that people of Navadvīpa manifested four arms but they did not know that! And with the other two hands they were playing mṛdaṅga, karatālas and clapping. When the Chand Kazi heard the kīrtana coming he thought it was some Hindu wedding or something. He sent some of his guards out to check. When they saw the huge crowd of people, they became frightened, oh no, we cannot stop, this is a huge crowd! They threw off their turbans and they tried to hide their beards. They raised their hands and started chanting with others so that nobody knew, ‘Haribol! Haribol! Haribol!’ Such was the transcendental kīrtana of Lord Caitanya Mahāprabhu. The Supreme Personality of Godhead had descended from Goloka Vṛndāvana to give blessing to the people of this earth.

Normally to get kṛṣṇa-prema one has to completely surrender to Kṛṣṇa. But Lord Caitanya and Lord Nityānanda, They are giving out the mercy without considering who is qualified, who is unqualified, They gave out to everyone. Every avatāra has a certain mood. Like Lord Narasiṁhadeva has an angry mood because Hiraṇyakaśipu was abusing his son Prahlāda who was His devotee. Kṛṣṇa came, He was very sweet, very beautiful. But Lord Caitanya, He is the mercy incarnation. His mood is mercy! So by His mercy we can easily get the mercy of Rādhā and Kṛṣṇa. So it is very important that we get the mercy of Nitāi-Gaura to get the mercy of Rādhā Mādhava. Same Lord but different moods. So, Lord Caitanya also visited Tirumala and saw Bālājī. So Lord Caitanya was giving His mercy to everyone.

We hope that all the devotees will take the mercy of Nitāi-Gaura. 8,400,000 species. Many species are disappearing as we are destroying the habitat. Species are disappearing as humans are destroying their living spaces. There are 400,000 human beings. And human beings have the opportunity to think what is our relationship with Kṛṣṇa. So we should try to go back home back to Godhead. That is the perfection of human life. Because we are breaking the laws of nature, breaking the laws of God, people are suffering the worldwide pandemic. So, the sacrifice for this age is chanting the holy name. So, that is why we are known as the Hare Kṛṣṇa movement. His Holiness Rādhānātha Swami is doing wonderful kīrtana. When His Holiness Svarūpa Dāmodara Goswami Mahārāja was here, he also did wonderful kīrtana. It seemed like the Manipuris are like Gandharvas! So, somehow or another, we should chant the holy names. In this way people can be liberated and we can return back to the spiritual world.

This month is the Puruṣottama month. Not good for karma-kāṇḍa. But very good for bhakti. VERY GOOD FOR BHAKTI! If you want to go to Svarga, not good! If you want to go to Goloka, very good! VERY GOOD! So worship this Puruṣottama month and go back to Goloka Vṛndāvana. All the other months put together do not equal 1/16th of the benefit of this Puruṣottama month. This is a good month to give charity to the temple. Offer a lamp every day to Rādhā and Kṛṣṇa. Chant the mantra,

govardhana dharam vande
gopālam gopa-rūpinam
gokulotsava īśānam
govindam gopikā-priyam

So we have a website called www.purusottamamonth.com. Also, if you want I have a Jayapatākā Swami App, you can download from Android or IOS. And I update the messages every day what I do. I will mention today I went to Vijayawada. And how Cakradhārī welcomed me and updated me with various news. So we try to keep in contact with the devotees using the modern technology. So, how long have I spoken? So I over spoke! Spoke too long! I get carried away talking about Caitanya-līlā!! Gaurāṅga! Nityānanda!
