20201011 Zoom Address on Bhādra Pūrṇimā Realization Night

The following is a zoom address on Bhādra Pūrṇimā Realization Night by His Holiness Jayapatākā Swami Mahārāja on October 11th, 2020 in Śrī Dhāma Māyāpur, India.

nama oṁ viṣṇu-pādāya kṛṣṇa-preṣṭhāya bhū-tale
śrīmate bhaktivedānta-svāmin iti nāmine

namas te sārasvate deve gaura-vāṇī-pracāriṇe
nirviśeṣa-śūnyavādi-pāścātya-deśa-tāriṇe

Jayapatākā Swami: Since of course this COVID-19 mahāmāri, I have been in a kind of self-imposed lockdown. But using Zoom, I tried to inspire different devotees to participate in this Bhadra Pūrṇimā. We know that it is a special opportunity to worship the Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam. And also, to give the Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam to someone. So, in my daily classes, I tried to spend a little time highlighting the Bhadra Pūrṇimā festival. And I would also have a book table, a virtual book table. And people were ordering books or Bhāgavatam sets, or donating Bhāgavatam sets. So on Bhadra Pūrṇimā, I delivered Bhāgavatam sets to different Gauḍīya Maṭhas. I thought let them read Śrīla Prabhupāda’s books, and they will understand why we appreciate Śrīla Prabhupāda so much! But then also, I had books distributed to the libraries, to the colleges, and universities, and various institutions, who had libraries. So that people could have access to Śrīla Prabhupāda’s books. So, in my virtual table, just sitting here in one place, I was able to distribute like 495 sets of Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam. I think that if every guru, every sannyāsī has a virtual table, and promotes the Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam, they could also distribute many books. So in this way, we can try to increase the consciousness of the Bhāgavatam and make the Bhadra Pūrṇimā a big success. I am very grateful to the BBT, to Vijaya das, and to His Grace Vaiśeṣika dāsa, for their inspiration and we tried to do our special pūjā on Bhadra Pūrṇimā. Actually, in Assam, where Śaṅkaradeva preached, they would have the Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam in a special altar and worship the Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam. So because they are not brāhmaṇas, they did not feel themselves qualified to have deities. But everyone can worship the Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam. Haribol!

Lord Caitanya specially advised that we should study the teachings of Lord Kṛṣṇa— Gītā is spoken by Kṛṣṇa and Bhāgavatam is spoken about Kṛṣṇa. So everyone who took the Bhāgavatam set, we gave them a free Bhagavad-gītā. So they had all Kṛṣṇa’s śikṣā.
