23 Feb 2023|Duration: 00:06:44|English|Navadvīpa Maṇḍala Parikramā|Śrī Māyāpur, India

Vidyānagara: Vidyānagara is the place of learning in Navadvīpa dhāma. Here, the guru of the demigods, Bṛhaspathi, he appeared here. But he was influenced by the Māyāvāda philosophy. So he went to Jagannātha Purī. There he is known as Sārvabhauma Bhaṭṭācārya. So, that pastime will be told by someone. Behind Vidyānagara there is a place of his brother, Vidyā-vācaspati. Lord Caitanya after ten years, He decided to go to Vṛndāvana. And, He went alongside the Ganges, on the other shore of Navadvīpa dhāma. Navadvīpa dhāma, at that time, was on the eastern side of the Ganges. Now it is on the western side because the British made the train station. So, Lord Caitanya, He stopped in the house of Vidyā-vācaspati and called for His mother, Śacī. And the brother came there and explained to her how she was dreaming, that He came and actually ate all His offerings. Meanwhile, the word got out and lakhs of people started assembling around the house. They were chanting, “Gaurāṅga! Gaurāṅga! Gaurāṅga!” They wanted to see Lord Caitanya. Vidyā-vācaspati requested Him, “Please show Yourself, otherwise they will breakdown the house.” So He went out and everybody offered their obeisances. He told them please chant the Hare Kṛṣṇa mahā-mantra. And then He gave them a few nectarine instructions. Then He went into the house, but then He disappeared. And reappeared about two kilometers away on the way to Vṛndāvana. Vidyā-vācaspati, he was telling the people, “He is not here, He is not here.” Then he allowed five people to go into his house and search. They came and they confirmed, He was not there. So, this is what happened here, near Vidyānagara. Behind Vidyānagara is the house of Vidyā-vācaspati, the brother of Sārvabhauma Bhaṭṭācārya. Haribol!
