Śrī Kṛṣṇa Caitanya Book Compilation
The following is a Śrī Kṛṣṇa Caitanya Book Compilation given by His Holiness Jayapatākā Swami Mahārāja on March 2nd,2023 in Śrī Dhāma Māyāpur, India.
mūkaṁ karoti vācālaṁ paṅguṁ laṅghayate girim
yat-kṛpā tam ahaṁ vande śrī-guruṁ dīna-tāraṇam
paramānandaṁ mādhavaṁ śrī caitanya iśvaram
Hariḥ oṁ tat sat!
Hare Kṛṣṇa! Dear Devotees! Today we will continue with the compilation of Śrī Kṛṣṇa Caitanya Book, Today's chapter is entitled as:
Part-2 Ornaments of Lord Nityānanda,
Under the section: The Pastimes of Nityānanda
Caitanya Bhāgavata, Antya-khaṇḍa 5.334
icchā mātra sarva-alaṅkāra sei kṣaṇe
upasanna āsiyā haila vidyamāne
Jayapatākā Swami: As soon as Lord Nityānanda desired to have ornaments, all the ornaments appeared at that moment, ready to worship Him, they came and they were personally present there.
Caitanya Bhāgavata, Antya-khaṇḍa 5.335-336
sūvarṇa rajata marakata manohara
nānā-vidha bahu-mūlya kateka prastara
maṇi su-prabāla paṭṭavāsa muktā hāra
sukṛti sakale diyā kare namaskāra
Jayapatākā Swami: Pious people offered their obeisances and gave Lord Nityānanda attractive ornaments made of gold, silver, various precious stones like diamonds, emeralds,and also corals, fine silk cloth, and pearl necklaces.
Caitanya Bhāgavata, Antya-khaṇḍa 5.337
kata vā nirmita kata kariyā nirmāṇa
parilena alaṅkāra—yena icchā tāna
Jayapatākā Swami: With the many ornaments that were already made and many that were custom made, Lord Nityānanda decorated Himself with these ornaments according to His own desire.
Caitanya Bhāgavata, Antya-khaṇḍa 5.338
dui haste suvarṇera aṅgada balaya
puṣṭa kari’ parilena ātma-icchā-maya
Jayapatākā Swami: He decorated His two wrists and arms with gold bracelets and armlets that were sufficiently wide, He decorated Himself according to His own desire.
So, Lord Nityānanda simply desired to decorate with ornaments, and suddenly people came and offered Him such ornaments.
Caitanya Bhāgavata, Antya-khaṇḍa 5.339
suvarṇa mudrikā ratne kariyā khicana
daśa-śrī-aṅgule śobhā kare vibhūṣaṇa
Jayapatākā Swami: Golden rings with jewels shining brilliantly on His ten fingers on His hands, they beautifully decorated His hands.
Purport (By His Divine Grace Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura Śrīla Prabhupāda): The word mudrikā refers to rings made of gold and other metals from objects like mohara (gold coins), rupees, and payasā. The word khicana means “studded with” or “set with.”
Caitanya Bhāgavata, Antya-khaṇḍa 5.340
kanṭha śobhā kare bahu-vidha divya hāra
maṇi-mūktā-prabālādi-yata sarva-sāra
Jayapatākā Swami: His neck was decorated with many varieties of fine necklaces made of diamonds, pearls, and corals, etc. all that were opulent.
Caitanya Bhāgavata, Antya-khaṇḍa 5.341
rudrākṣa viḍālākṣa dui suvarṇa rajate
bāndhiyā parilā kaṇṭhe maheśvara prīte
Jayapatākā Swami: He put rudrākṣa and viḍālākṣa (cat’s-eye) on two golden necklaces, He wore on the neck to please Lord Śiva.
Caitanya Bhāgavata, Antya-khaṇḍa 5.342
muktā-kasā-suvarṇa kariyā suracana
dui śruti-mūle śobhe parama śobhana
Jayapatākā Swami: Shiny white pearls that were set in the pure golden earrings, they dangled beautifully on His two ears adorning most beautifully.
Caitanya Bhāgavata, Antya-khaṇḍa 5.343
pāda-padme rajata-nūpura suśobhana
tad-upari mala śobhe jagata-mohana
Jayapatākā Swami: On Lord Nityānanda’s lotus feet, silver ankle bells beautifully adorned. On top of that a mālā (a silver band) adorned His legs shining were splendrous, enchanting the whole universe.
Caitanya Bhāgavata, Antya-khaṇḍa 5.344
śukla-paṭṭa-nīla-pīta—bahuvidha vāsa
apūrva śobhaye paridhānera vilāsa
Jayapatākā Swami: White, blue, and yellow silk clothes of various types wonderfully decorated Lord Nityānanda, having dressed in an attractive way.
Caitanya Bhāgavata, Antya-khaṇḍa 5.345
mālatī, mallikā, yūthī, campakera mālā
śrī-vakṣe karaye śobhā āndolana-khelā
Jayapatākā Swami: He was wearing flower garlands of mālatī, mallikā, yūthī, and campaka on His divine chest beautifully moving playfully.
Caitanya Bhāgavata, Antya-khaṇḍa 5.346
gorocanā-sahita candana divya-gandhe
vicitra kariyā lepiyāchena śrī-aṅge
Jayapatākā Swami: There is a special ingredient which comes from the cow called Gorocanā this Goracanā and sandalwood was creating a divine scent, and wonderful pictures and designs were drawn on His transcendental body.
Caitanya Bhāgavata, Antya-khaṇḍa 5.347
śrī-mastake śobhita vividha paṭṭavāsa
tad upari nānā-varṇa-mālyera vilāsa
Jayapatākā Swami: His lotus head was decorated with a beautiful turban of varieties of silk cloth. Above the turban was a splendid and graceful garland of different-colored flowers.
Caitanya Bhāgavata, Antya-khaṇḍa 5.348
prasanna śrī-mukha—koṭi śaśadhara jini’
hāsiyā karena niravadhi hari-dhvani
Jayapatākā Swami: His pleasingly Lotus face defeated the beauty of millions of moons. Laughingly He constantly vibrated the names of Hari, Hari Bol! Hari Bol!
Caitanya Bhāgavata, Antya-khaṇḍa 5.349
ye-dike cāhena dui-kamala-nayane
sei-dike prema-varṣe, bhāse sarva-jane
Jayapatākā Swami: In whatever direction Lord Nityānanda glanced with His two lotus eyes, in that direction an ecstatic spiritual love showered and inundated everyone.
Caitanya Bhāgavata, Antya-khaṇḍa 5.350
rajatera prāya lauha-daṇḍa suśobhana
dui-dike kari tathi suvarṇa-bandhana
Jayapatākā Swami: Almost like silver, an iron rod glistened and two sides of it were bound with gold.
Caitanya Bhāgavata, Antya-khaṇḍa 5.351
niravadhi sei lauha-daṇḍa śobhe kare
muṣala dharilā yena prabhu haladhare
Jayapatākā Swami: Lord Nityānanda always held on to that iron rod which looked splendid as if a club, He was holding the plow muśala (club) like (Lord Balarāma, the carrier of the plow).

Under the section: The Pastimes of Nityānanda
Sometimes Lord Nityānanda He like to wear different decorations and this was reminding of His pastimes as Lord Balarāma. So although Lord Caitanya was showing renunciation, but Lord Nityānanda was showing opulence, in this way He would attract the minds of the whole universe.
