Come join us His Holiness Jayapatākā Swami Mahārāja reads from the Śrī Kṛṣṇa Caitanya Book on January 21st,2019 in Chennai, India

mūkhaṁ karoti vācālaṁ paṅguṁ laṅghayate girim
yat kṛpā tam ahaṁ vande śrī gurum dina tarinam
paramānanda mādhavaṁ śrī caitanya īśvaram

Hari oṁ tat sat!

Introduction: So today we are continuing with the Lord Caitanya instructs mother Śacī how she can get rid of the offenses. The sins and offenses are two different things. Sins are in the laws of karma and you suffer and enjoy according to your pious result or sinful result. But offense cuts at the spiritual root, and stops one’s spiritual progress, or slows one down, depending on how grievous is the offence.

So today was Monday, we had our physiotherapy in the morning, and then in the afternoon the dentist came and did a checkup, I went for some cycling and now we are giving class. I had dinner before this, Mexican tacos. Thank you all, And right after class we will have the class we will have the video of “Prabhupāda, if you had not come”, translated into Tamil by Sumitra Kṛṣṇa dāsa and his good wife, Tarini Rādhā devī dāsī.

Caitanya-Bhāgavata Madhya-khaṇḍa 22.30

tumi yāṅra putra prabhu,—se sarva-jananī
 putra-sthāne māyera ki aparādha gaṇi

Jayapatākā Swami: Oh Lord, that person who is Your mother, she is the mother of everyone. Can a mother offend a son? What offence can a son think of his own mother?

Caitanya-Bhāgavata Madhya-khaṇḍa 22.31

yadi vā vaiṣṇava-sthāne thāke aparādha
tathāpiha khaṇḍāiyā karaha praśāda”

Jayapatākā Swami: Even if she has committed an offence against a Vaiṣṇava, even then, please destroy the offence and be merciful to her!

Caitanya-Bhāgavata Madhya-khaṇḍa 22.32

vaiṣṇaba aparādha-khaṇḍanera upāya— prabhu bale,—“upadeśa kahite se pāri/ vaiṣṇavāparādha āmi khaṇḍāite nāri

Jayapatākā Swami: The Lord said, I could give instructions but I cannot destroy a Vaiṣṇava offence.

Caitanya-Bhāgavata Madhya-khaṇḍa 22.32

prabhu bale,—“upadeśa kahite se pāri
vaiṣṇavāparādha āmi khaṇḍāite nāri

It is true that I can instruct anyone said the Lord, about devotional service, but I am never able to deliver one who has offended a Vaiṣṇava, out of envy.

Caitanya-Bhāgavata Madhya-khaṇḍa 22.33

ye-vaiṣṇava-sthāne aparādha haya yāra
punaḥ se-i kṣamile se ghuce, nahe āra

Jayapatākā Swami: If someone makes an offence against a Vaiṣṇava, the offence can be excused by that Vaiṣṇava – no one else.

Caitanya-Bhāgavata Madhya-khaṇḍa 22.34

durvāsāra aparādha ambarīṣa-sthāne
tumi jāna, tāra kṣaya haila kemane

Jayapatākā Swami: You know how Durvāsā’s offence against Ambarīṣa mahārāja was destroyed. Only a Vaiṣṇava who has been offended can excuse the offender. As was the case when Durvāsā offended king Ambarīṣa. So if mother Śacī gets forgiven by Advaita Gosāi, or if she takes the dust of Advaita prabhu’s lotus feet on her head, then Advaita prabhu will forgive her offence. I will be able to instruct her, My mother, about devotional service to the Supreme Lord.

Caitanya-Bhāgavata Madhya-khaṇḍa 22.35

nāḍāra sthānete āche tāna aparādha
nāḍā kṣamilei haya premera prasāda

Jayapatākā Swami: She has offended Nāḍa. So she can attain ecstatic love for Kṛṣṇa when Nāḍa forgives her.

Caitanya-Bhāgavata Madhya-khaṇḍa 22.36

advaita-caraṇa-dhūli laile māthāya
haibeka prema-bhakti āmāra ājñāya”

Jayapatākā Swami: If mother Śacī takes the dust from Advaita prabhu’s lotus feet, and puts it on her head, she will get prema-bhakti!! Ecstatic love for Kṛṣṇa, by My order!!

Thus ends the chapter entitled, “The Lord instructs how to remove the offence of Mother Śacī”, from the book Kṛṣṇa Caitanya, the Supreme Personality of Godhead as a devotee.
