yat-kṛpā tam ahaṁ vande śrī-guruṁ dīna-tāraṇam
paramānandaṁ mādhavaṁ śrī caitanya iśvaram

Hariḥ oṁ tat sat!

Introduction: Haribol! Gaurāṅga Nityānanda! Gaurāṅga Nityānanda! Gaurāṅga Nityānanda! Gaurāṅga Nityānanda! Nitāi-Gaura Haribol! Haribol Haribol! Haribol! Today we had physical therapy and also voice therapy and after prasāda we had rest and then went cycling and I did 648 cycles!! That is six times 108!! Then we had a meeting with the senior devotees of South India and then I had some dinner prasāda and now we are having class.

Caitanya-bhāgavata Madhya-khaṇḍa 24.56

nagara-bhramaṇarata nityānandera mahāprabhura līlā-hṛdgocara o śrīvāsa gṛhe gamana—

parama ānande prabhu nityānanda rāya
paryaṭana sukhe bhrame sarva nadīyāya

Jayapatākā Swami: Nityānanda Prabhu, meanwhile was wandering around Nādia district, happily. He was wandering throughout Nādia in great ecstasy, parama-ānande!

Caitanya-bhāgavata Madhya-khaṇḍa 24.57

prabhura prakāśa saba jāne nityānanda
jānilena haiyāchena prabhu viśva-aṅga

Jayapatākā Swami: Nityānanda Prabhu knows the Lord’s manifestations and He knew that the Lord was displaying His universal form. Some people with the mundane vision were unable to see the Lord in His transcendental form. They would see themselves as the doer, and thus they could not see the Absolute Truth - they could not see the source of all incarnations, who has manifested in this world as Gaurāṅga Mahāprabhu! and they accepted the Lord as being simply a part of the Absolute Truth. Although the materialists, the conditioned souls, were unable to realize the completeness of Caitanya Mahāprabhu, Śrī Nityānanda prabhu understood Lord Caitanya, as the most complete Personality. Although, the narrow minded materially conditioned souls, think the Supreme Lord is a product of material nature. All this material world is actually a part of the Lord. This is understood in the philosophy, viśiṣṭādvaita, since this was realized by Lord Nityānanda, who was totally in the service mood. Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam explains that the creation, maintenance and destruction of this material world, is simply a secondary part of the Lord. It is a manifestation of the secondary characteristic of the Lord. So the Lord is so great, ordinary people are not able to understand His greatness! Lord Nityānanda prabhu could understand it, and some of the surrendered devotees, who are totally absorbed in devotional ecstasy, could realize part of it.

Hare Kṛṣṇa!

Caitanya-bhāgavata Madhya-khaṇḍa 24.58

nityānandera viṣṇu-gṛhadvāre garjena o prabhura dvārodghāṭana—

satvare āilā yathā āchena ṭhākura
viṣṇu-gṛha-dvāre giyā garjena pracura

Jayapatākā Swami: Lord Nityānanda quickly came to Śrīvāsa Ṭhākura’s house where the Lord was situated and He roared loudly, outside the Viṣṇu-mandira temple door!

Caitanya-bhāgavata Madhya-khaṇḍa 24.59

nityānanda āgamana jāni' viśvambhara
dvāra ghucāiyā prabhu āilā satvara

Jayapatākā Swami: Lord Viśvambhara, realizing that Lord Nityānanda had arrived, He opened the door quickly and came there!

Caitanya-bhāgavata Madhya-khaṇḍa 24.60

viśvarūpa-darśane nityānandera daṇḍavatpatana

ananta-brahmāṇḍa-rūpa nityānanda dekhi'
daṇḍavat haiyā paḍilā buji' āṅkhi

Jayapatākā Swami: Seeing the Lord’s form of unlimited, millions of universes, Lord Nityānanda, He offered His prostrate obeisances. He closed His eyes and fell to the ground!

Caitanya-bhāgavata Madhya-khaṇḍa 24.61

prabhu bale,—“uṭha nityānanda, mora prāṇa
tumi se jānaha mora sakala ākhyāna

Jayapatākā Swami: The Lord said, rise, Nityānanda! You are My life and soul!! You know everything about Me!

Caitanya-bhāgavata Madhya-khaṇḍa 24.62

ye tomāre prīti kare, muñi satya tāra
tomā'-bai priyatama nāhika āmāra

Jayapatākā Swami: Who loves You, I truly belong to Him! There is no one dear to ME than You!

Caitanya-bhāgavata Madhya-khaṇḍa 24.63

tumi āra advaite ye kare bheda-buddhi
bhāla-mate nā jāne se avatāra-śuddhi

Jayapatākā Swami: You and Advaita, anyone who sees or distinguishes between You and Advaita, do not properly know, about the truth of the incarnation. So the Lord, He is known as Ananta-rūpam. He has unlimited forms. So both Lord Nityānanda and Advaita Prabhu are Viṣṇu-tattvas Therefore Their body and Their self are non-different. So they don’t know Their oneness, they cannot really understand the Lord’s incarnation.

Lord Nityānanda Prabhu, is the first direct expansion of the Supreme Lord. And Śrī Advaita Prabhu is Viṣṇu in the form of Kāraṇodakaśāyī or Mahā-viṣṇu. So Lord Caitanya is the svayaṁ-rūpa of original form. He is Kṛṣṇa. So Lord Nityānanda is His first expansion and there are many expansions after that, and then comes the Mahā-Viṣṇu or Kāraṇodakaśāyī Viṣṇu, who in Caitanya-līlā came as Advaita Gosāñi, and He is the one who manifests all the unlimited, millions of universes. In each universe, there is a form of Garbhodakaśāyī Viṣṇu and He gives birth to Lord Brahmā. Then there is a form of Kṣīrodakaśāyī Viṣṇu, who expands in the heart of every living entity. He is known as the Paramātmā or in Christianity He is known as the Holy Ghost. In English you say Supersoul, He accompanies the living entity, birth after birth.

Caitanya-bhāgavata Madhya-khaṇḍa 24.64

advaita nityānandera nṛtya—

nityānanda-advaite dekhiyā viśvambhara
ānande nācaye viṣṇu-gṛhera bhitara

Jayapatākā Swami: Nityānanda Prabhu and Advaita Prabhu saw the form of Viśvambhara in great ecstasy, they danced in the Viṣṇu temple room!

Caitanya-bhāgavata Madhya-khaṇḍa 24.65

huṅkāra garjana kare śrī-śacī-nandana
dekha dekha 'kari' prabhu ḍāke ghana ghana

Jayapatākā Swami: The son of Śacī, Śrī Śacīnandana, loudly roared and repeatedly said, look here, look here, look, look!

Caitanya-bhāgavata Madhya-khaṇḍa 24.66

dui prabhura mahāprabhura stuti—

prabhu prabhu' bali' stuti kare dui jana
viśvarūpa dekhiyā ānanda-maya mana

Jayapatākā Swami: Prabhu, Prabhu! Said the two, Advaita and Nityānanda Prabhu, and they offered prayers to the Lord. Their minds were filled with transcendental bliss in ecstasy, seeing the Lord’s universal form! So, Lord Nityānanda is a manifestation of Śrī Caitanya. But His role is that He is a servant of Lord Caitanya. So the author, Vṛndāvana dāsa Ṭhākura explains, Nityānanda-svarūpa is My Lord, and Gaura-sundara is the Lord of My Lord! So He considered Lord Nityānanda as his spiritual master, and he had firm faith in his heart that by the mercy of his guru, he would get the mercy of the Lord. So, he also had faith that some time, he would be recognized as the servant of the servant of the servant of the servant by Mahāprabhu.

Caitanya-bhāgavata Madhya-khaṇḍa 24.67

mahāprabhura etādṛśī līlā sādhāraṇera darśane asāmarthya

e saba kautuka haya śrīvāsa-mandire
tathāpi dekhite śakti anya nāhi dhare

Jayapatākā Swami: These confidential pastimes happened in Śrīvāsa Ṭhākura’s temple. But no one else had the potency or power to see these transcendental pastimes.

So we will stop here, and we will continue after this tomorrow. Any questions? Hare Kṛṣṇa! Gurumahārāja!

Question: We understood that there is expansion of Advaita Ācārya further into Garbhodakaśāyī Viṣṇu and Kṣīrodakaśāyī Viṣṇu. So we see that always the Lord is accompanied by His associates. So when the Lord is in our heart does He come with His associates and dhāma? Also, how is the Lord Paramātmā in the heart?

Jayapatākā Swami: You see Viṣṇu and Kṣīrodakaśāyī Viṣṇu, He has His own planet and there He has many associates, Lakṣmīs etc. But as His expansion He is in the heart of every living entity, and He is simultaneously in the heart and in His planet. So it doesn’t say that the associates are with Him in the heart, but simultaneously in His transcendental abode, He has many associates.

Question: You mentioned that considering himself as a doer, an ordinary being could not understand God, could not see Caitanya Mahāprabhu as God. Could you please give some explanation on that as how I consider myself a doer and that stops me from seeing God?

Jayapatākā Swami: So, in the Bhagavad-gītā there is a verse that everything is done by the material nature, but the living entity thinks that he is the doer. kartāham iti manyate. So if we see that we simply desire and the Lord provides us, that he is the doer - that material energy is the doer, we are simply desiring. So He remembers what we desired and He provides us the opportunities. So if someone thinks he is the doer, then he can’t really understand the Supreme Lord who is actually doing everything for us.

Question: Why should we forgive one who has done wrong with us and how?

Jayapatākā Swami: Because we want the Lord to forgive us for the offences we are doing. So therefore we want to forgive others do to others as you would have done to you.

Thank you all!
