20190205 Lord's Abhiṣeka by Devotees (Part-4)

5 Feb 2019|Duration: 00:23:33|English|Śrī Kṛṣṇa Caitanya Book|Chennai, India

Come join us as His Holiness Jayapatākā Swami Mahārāja reads from the new Śrī Kṛṣṇa Caitanya Book on February 5th, 2019 in Chennai, India.

mūkaṁ karoti vācālaṁ paṅguṁ laṅghayate girim
yat-kṛpā tam ahaṁ vande śrī-guruṁ dīna-tāraṇam
paramānandaṁ mādhavaṁ śrī caitanya iśvaram

Hariḥ oṁ tat sat!

Introduction: So today we went in the morning to the Rela Institute/Hospital.

Our physical therapist did not come.

I did some physical therapy on my own with the help of local devotees and then the whole day I was at the Institute.

I saw three or four doctors.

They said I was basically doing well.

They adjusted some of my medications and diet.

So, it was a bit tiring, spending the whole day like that, going from one doctor to the next and so one doctor agreed to come to Māyāpur.

One doctor said that she was chanting on my request; but she is doing 108.

I told her that 108 mantras is equal to over 6 lakh names of Kṛṣṇa!

And if she does two mantras a day.

She will be doing 1 million 250 thousand names of Kṛṣṇa in a year.

So, like this we were getting diagnosed and at the same time we were giving some spiritual medicine!!!

But it was a bit tiring.

So, anyway I gathered my strength to share the class with you.

Now we are listening to Gaurasundara Mahāprabhu revealing His indebtedness to Advaita Gosāñi.

And how Advaita Gosāñi had brought Lord Caitanya to this material world.

So if there is any word that you think you have difficulty in understanding, if you are here physically then you can give those words to Ekarāṇī devī dāsī and she is raising her beautiful hand in the air!

And if you are on the internet, send it in and we will have someone pick it up.

Lord's Abhiṣeka by Devotees [Part-4]

Caitanya Maṅgala Madhya-khaṇḍa 3.76

mora pādapadma nija mastake dhariẏā
tulasī-mañjarī diẏā pūjile kāndiẏā

Jayapatākā Swami: You bowed down Your head before My lotus fees.

You offered Me tulasī-mañjarīs in worship, and You were crying while worshipping Me.

Caitanya Maṅgala Madhya-khaṇḍa 3.77

bhāgavatacitta tumi huṅkāre ānilā
tomāra pīriti lāgi’ more sahe pāilā

Jayapatākā Swami: With the heart of a true devotee, You loudly called for Me, and brought Me.

Because of Your love for Me, I have come here with all My devotees!!

Caitanya Maṅgala Madhya-khaṇḍa 3.78

ihā bali’ mahāprabhu khaṭāẏa basilā
‘nācaha’ baliẏā ācāryere ājñā dila

Jayapatākā Swami: Saying these words, the Lord Gaura Mahāprabhu sat on the throne of Viṣṇu and He ordered Advaita Ācārya, ‘dance!!’

Caitanya Maṅgala Madhya-khaṇḍa 3.79

tabe sei advaita-ācārya dvijavara
daśa-avatāra gīte nācilā vistara

Jayapatākā Swami: Then the great brāhmaṇa Advaita Ācārya, singing the ten avatāras song, danced very expressively!

Caitanya Maṅgala Madhya-khaṇḍa 3.80

śrīvāsapaṇḍita-ādi yata bhaktagaṇa
ānande libhora kare guṇa-sankīrtana

Jayapatākā Swami: All the other devotees led by Śrīvāsa Paṇḍita, overwhelmed with bliss, chanted the holy names and qualities of the Lord Hari!!

Caitanya Maṅgala Madhya-khaṇḍa 3.81

tā dekhiẏā mahāprabhu gaura bhagavān
hṛṣṭa haïẏā baila tāre prasannabaẏāna

Jayapatākā Swami: Gaura Bhagavān, the Lord Gaura Mahāprabhu, became very happy seeing all this!!

He said to Advaita, the following.

Caitanya Maṅgala Madhya-khaṇḍa 3.82

e tora bālaka saba prema māge more
diva premabhaktidāna kahila tomāre

Jayapatākā Swami: Your children, asked Me to give them pure ecstatic love - I will give them.

I will give, pure loving devotion, this I tell to You!

Caitanya-bhāgavata Madhya-khaṇḍa 9.018

āra saba dine prabhu bhava prakāśiyā
vaisena viṣṇura khāṭe yena nā jāniyā

Jayapatākā Swami: On those days when the Lord manifested His ecstasy and sat on the throne of Lord Viṣṇu, He acted like He was unaware of His actions!

Caitanya-bhāgavata Madhya-khaṇḍa 9.019

sāta-prahariyā-bhāve chāḍi sarva māyā
vasilā prahara-sāta prabhu vyakta haiyā

Jayapatākā Swami: In the 21-hour ecstasy, He gave up all coverings of illusion.

He revealed His glories for 21 hours.

So the Viṣṇu’s throne refers to the Supreme Lord’s siṁhāsana or His throne.

The Bengali word is khaṭ. Khaṭa.

On other days, Mahāprabhu acted as if unaware and sat on the throne of Viṣṇu, in His own ecstasy.

But on this day He concealed His mood and pastimes as a devotee, and sat on the throne of Viṣṇu for 21 hours, in the mood of the Supreme Personality of Godhead.

This day He did not hide Himself in any way, but fully revealed Himself.

In other words, He accepted the worship of His devotees, by fully revealing Himself as Lord Viṣṇu, the object of all worship!!

Because Gaurasundara Śacī-nandana was the devotee incarnation of the Lord, normally He acted as a devotee, but Advaita Gosāñi had prayed, worshiped and bowed down and many other things, to bring the Lord down from the spiritual world to this material universe.

So He wanted to show Advaita Gosāñi that He had answered His plea.

He was the Lord He had prayed for, and He had come down to liberate the fallen souls, to give them all kṛṣṇa-prema.

Whoever wanted, they can have it!

Haribol!

So this is the end of the Caitanya Maṅgala.

Now we go into the Caitanya-carita Mahākāvya.

We will do that tomorrow.

Hare Kṛṣṇa! Are there are any questions? Are there any questions for me?

I want to serve you! (Guru Mahārāja sang this in the tune we sing Hare Kṛṣṇa to You for birthdays!!) Ha! Isn’t it wonderful? Lord Caitanya’s pastimes! Those who were present to see the Lord were very fortunate.

We have to hear the Lord’s pastimes; we are also very fortunate!!

Many people in this world still are believing in God, but what He does, How He looks like, they have no idea!

So, Lord Caitanya is revealing how the Lord is!

and He is showing us how we can serve the Lord.

He normally doesn’t accept any worship, but then on this rare occasion for 21 hours He accepted!

Everyone could see that He was actually the Supreme Personality of Godhead!! and they started chanting and dancing and Advaita was offering ārati.

Lord Nityānanda was holding an umbrella over His head.

Different devotees were doing different services.

It was very ecstatic.

He brought different devotees in front of Him and asked them what they want.

Hare Kṛṣṇa!

Satyamedha Gaurāṅga dāsa: Whoever saw Lord Caitanya’s pastimes was a pure devotee?

Jayapatākā Swami: Those who say the pastimes of the Lord Caitanya and participated in it favorably, they are considered as not only pure devotees, but eternal associates of the Lord.

Like Murāri Gupta.

He is actually the incarnation of Hanumān.

So all the great devotees, Hanumān, Prahlāda and so many came.

Nārada Muni, Rādhārāṇī, Satyabhāmā, Viśākhā, Lalitā, so many came from the spiritual world, to accompany the Lord.

These are not only pure devotees; they are eternal spiritual associates of the Lord.

Some of them maybe from a distance, were pure devotees, but we consider them as associates of the Lord, and you can also become an associate of the Lord in the next birth, in His pastimes.!!

Of course, in this life you can also get His mercy!

Gaurāṅga! Nityānanda!

Gaurāṅga! Nityānandaa!

Hare Kṛṣṇa, Hare Kṛṣṇa! Guru Mahārāja, said this three times in answer to the devotee’s Hare Kṛṣṇa!)

Question: Is Gaura-ārati by Bhaktivinoda Ṭhākura, a description of this pastime that we are discussing? Since the Lord is sitting on the Viṣṇu throne and accepted worship?

Jayapatākā Swami: It seems like that.

Jaya Jaya Gauracāndera - it seems like one version or vision of the Lord - Lord’s ārtīka.

So we want to welcome those who have visited us on the internet and please chant the name of Gaurāṅga.

śrī kṛṣṇa caitanya prabhu nityānanda
śrī advaita gadādhara śrīvāsa ādi gaura-bhakta-vṛnda

Then you can always get spiritual bliss when you are chanting

Hare Kṛṣṇa, Hare Kṛṣṇa, Kṛṣṇa Kṛṣṇa, Hare Hare
Hare Rāma Hare Rāma, Rāma Rāma, Hare Hare!
