Āśirvāda-rūpa-maṅgalācaraṇam [Part 3]

Śrī Caitanya-candrāmṛtam Verse 17

antardhvāntavināśaka, svapremāmbudhivarddhaka, viśva-snigdhakāraka gauracandra—

antardhvāntacayaṁ samastajagatāmunmūlayantī haṭhāt

viśvaṁ śītalayantyatīva vikalaṁ tāpatrayeṇāniśaṁ
yuṣmākaṁ hṛdaye cakāstu satataṁ caitanyacandracchaṭā

Anuvāda: Yāhā nikhilajīvera hṛdayasthita ajñāna-andhakārarāśi akasmāt unmūlita kare, yāhā pravalavege premānanda-rasa-vāridhike niravadhi ucchalita kariyā pravṛddha karite thāke, yāhā tāpatraye nirantara abhibhūta jīvajagatke premāmṛta-secane atyanta snigdha kare, śrī-caitanyacandrera sei śrī-aṅgakaumudī tomādera hṛdaye satata dīptilābha karuna.

Translation: That which spontaneously uproots the dense darkness of ignorance within the hearts of all living entities, that which forcefully makes the nectarean ocean of ecstatic love to increase and overflow, and that which cools the greatly overwhelmed living entities in the universe who are tormented by the threefold miseries, may that effulgence of Lord Caitanyacandra’s body always shine within your hearts.

Jayapatākā Swami: Some think Lord Caitanya has a material body, but actually His body is transcendental and it destroys all the sufferings of the three-fold miseries. So, we want the shelter of Lord Caitanya’s lotus feet, and thus we can taste the nectar all the time. People are looking for that shelter that Lord Caitanya’s lotus feet offer and they can only get that if we render devotional service. This way the devotees of Lord Caitanya are always anxious for Lord Caitanya’s mercy. The author is praying that Lord Caitanya’s bodily effulgence will illuminate the inner part of the material body. In this way, one can be feel always under the shelter of Lord Caitanya.

Just like in Māyāpur sometimes, the Ganges over floods and all the earth is covered by water. So, like that the author is praying that our heart will be flooded by love of Kṛṣṇa, by the mercy of Lord Caitanya.

Hare Kṛṣṇa, Hare Kṛṣṇa, Kṛṣṇa Kṛṣṇa, Hare Hare
Hare Rāma, Hare Rāma, Rāma Rāma, Hare Hare!

It said that even if one is not fully engaged in devotional service, even if one time they enter the temple, they can get the mercy. Here we have example of that, how one of the parents of the devotee, he was just chanting a little bit and was attending some of the temple programs. But he became very much inspired by Lord Caitanya’s mercy.

Hare Kṛṣṇa!
