20231107 Initiation Address

The following is an initiation class with the Manglore Yatra Devotees by His Holiness Jayapatākā Swami Mahārāja on November 7th, 2023 in Śrī Dhāma Māyāpur, India. 

Actually, we have to complete one year chanting 16 rounds and follow the four regulative principles. But anyway, since twelve devotees are like 11 months. So, it says we should not be niyamāgraha. 

I am very grateful to His Grace Nāmaniṣṭha Prabhu for having engaged you in devotional service. And I do hope that you will continue to engage in devotional service. So in the aspect of initiation, we give a new name, which should that normally have the same letter. And all you have been doing up to now it is practice, from now on this is your commitment, your vow, and you have to do it very carefully. And, of course, have you taken your vows? 

Jayapatākā Swami: The whole secret is that now you have been practicing, now you will seriously always think of Kṛṣṇa. As I mentioned, Kaṁsa was Kṛṣṇa conscious, but he was negative. But we want you to be Kṛṣṇa conscious in a positive way. (Aside: You can come here in the shade.) There are nine practices of bhakti-yoga – śravaṇam, kīrtanam – hearing and chanting… so should always be engaged in a different nine practices of devotional service.

So, Nāma-niṣṭhā Prabhu and his assistance will be ready to offer you to answer your questions. Right?

Nāma-niṣṭhā dāsa: Yes!

Gopati Kṛṣṇa dāsa: He says ‘Yes!’ Guru Mahārāja.

Jayapatākā Swami: Hindi anuvāda! If he cannot answer, then you can come to me. Don’t think that it is a botheration, you going to bother me. I want to see that you get back to Godhead in this life. It is not a botheration. Why am I here for? So, I want you to always think of Kṛṣṇa, He is most kind, most merciful and He wants to help you all. We are acting as His representative, I am there. So they will take their vows now? And tell me, when you are ready.
