20220423 Spiritual Safari Address (Day 2)

23 Apr 2022|Duration: 00:08:28|English|Safari Lectures|Śrī Māyāpur, India

The following is a Spiritual Safari address on day-2 given by His Holiness Jayapatākā Swami Mahārāja on April 23rd,2022 in Sri Dhama Mayapur, India.

Jayapatākā Swami: I am glad to hear the story of Katoshka. I am a little sad that my class is not going on but I see everybody is here on the Spiritual Safari. So we want to observe Kṛṣṇa consciousness as strictly as possible, as a daily festival. So I saw that for all the Safari was a festival. And many temples, in many cities all over India, Nepal and Bangladesh, they appreciated seeing all the devotees and hearing them speak their realizations.

Aṅgīra Gaurāṅga was talking about caste brāhmaṇas. I will read today on what Lord Caitanya said:

kibā vipra, kibā nyāsī, śūdra kene naya
yei kṛṣṇa-tattva-vettā, sei 'guru' haya
(Cc Madhya 8.128)

Many people are brāhmaṇas by birth but if they don’t believe in Kṛṣṇa, then they are very unfortunate. So by association with the devotees, they can get a boost in their faith. Śrīla Prabhupāda said that Indians are like coal with ashes. When they see a devotee and it is like blowing the ashes off the coal. What you are doing in the safari, you are helping the people gain faith. Because they are thinking that all the Westerners are enjoying the Kali-yuga, but when they meet devotees from all over the world, they appreciate. Just like we were reading how the Māyāvādī sannyāsīs in Banaras got converted by Lord Caitanya.

Thank you very much for sharing your realization and thank you to those who are on the safari. I could speak more but everyone is saying I should take rest. And I will hear some of the realizations. I thank the Swamis who are present and others who have given their association in the safari. Because in recent years I have not been able to attend all the travel. But I try to meet up with the safari from time to time. I want to thank Bhakti Dhīra Dāmodara Swami, Kavicandra Swami, Bhakti Vignavināśana Narasiṁha Swami and others who were going on the safari. So I just wanted to mention that.

Hare Kṛṣṇa!
