20220507 Śrī Rāmakeli Dhāma Bhūmi-pūjā Address

The following is a talk given by His Holiness Jayapatākā Swami Mahārāja on May 7th,2022 at Śrī Rāmakeli dhāma (Malda, W.B India)  on the occasion of Bhūmī pūjā.

Jayapatākā Swami: Hare Kṛṣṇa! Śrīla Prabhupāda kī jaya! Rāmakeli is that place where Lord Caitanya met Śrīla Rūpa and Sanātana Gosvāmī. And there, Lord Caitanya enacted many pastimes there. The Muslim king, Hussain Shah asked Śrīla Rūpa and Sanātana Gosvāmī, “Who is this Lord Caitanya?” They feared that if they told the truth the king would harm Lord Caitanya, so they said that, “Lord Caitanya is a fakir and He just keeps walking around.” Śrīla Rūpa Gosvāmī then told Hussain Shah that as He was also a representative of God, what did he feel about Lord Caitanya? He said, “I feel that He is nondifferent from Allah. Because, why do you all work for me?” They said, “Oh, you are the king, so we work for you.” “No, no, I pay you that is why you work for me! My army, ministers, all of them, if I don’t pay them they will not work for me. I feel that even my queen, if I don’t give her gifts, I am not sure if she will stay with me or not! Caitanya Mahāprabhu, He does not give any money or anything, but so many people are following Him all along. Other than Allah, no one can do this. So I feel that He is a representative of Allah or something.”

So this way, Rāmakeli is a very nice place, Lord Caitanya’s pastime place, and the pastime place of Śrīla Rūpa and Sanātana Gosvāmī. Their brother was the father of Śrīla Jīva Gosvāmī. This way, Lord Caitanya instructed Śrīla Rūpa and Sanātana Gosvāmī to go to Vṛndāvana. This way, now we wish to do something here in Rāmakeli as this place is one of our important places.

Anyway, I am the servant of the servant of Śrīla Rūpa and Sanātana Gosvāmī, Jayapatākā Swami!
