We will hear what that is! Wow!

Caitanya-bhāgavata Madhya-khaṇḍa 28.181

hena mate sannyāsa kariyā prabhu dhanya
prakāśilā ātma-nāma `śrī-kṛṣṇa-caitanya’

Jayapatākā Swami: The glorious Lord Gaurāṅga accepted sannyāsa, in this way manifesting His own name, Śrī Kṛṣṇa Caitanya! Haribol!

Caitanya-bhāgavata Madhya-khaṇḍa 28.182

caitanyalīlāra nityatā

sarva-kāla caitanya sakala līlā kare
yāṅhāre yakhana kṛpā, dekhāyena tāṅre

Jayapatākā Swami: So, Lord Caitanya Mahāprabhu’s pastimes are eternal. And He is performing them eternally. And when He gives someone His mercy, they are visible to them. So, Lord’s pastimes are eternal. When they are visible to everyone, they are called prakaṭa. When they are only visible to those who He gives His special mercy to, they are called aprakaṭa. But they are going on eternally.

Caitanya-bhāgavata Madhya-khaṇḍa 28.183

nityānandai caitanyera samyag jñātā, tāṁhāra ādeśe granthakārera caitanyacarita-racanā—

āra kata līlā-rasa haila sei sthāne
nityānanda-svarūpe se saba tattva jāne

Jayapatākā Swami: Only Nityānanda Svarūpa knows all the many pastimes and mellows, which had taken place there.

Caitanya-bhāgavata Madhya-khaṇḍa 28.184

tāṅhāra ājñāya āmi kṛpā-anurūpe
kichu-mātra sūtra āmi likhila pustake

Jayapatākā Swami: According to His merciful instructions, I have written a little something, in a condensed form in this book.

Caitanya-bhāgavata Madhya-khaṇḍa 28.185

granthakārera sarvavaiṣṇava-caraṇe praṇāmapūrvaka svadainya prakāśa-mukhe madhyalīlāra upasaṁhāra—

sarva-vaiṣṇavera pāye mora namaskāra
ithe aparādha kichu nā labe āmāra

Jayapatākā Swami: I offer my respectful obeisances at the lotus feet of all the Vaiṣṇavas, devotees of the Lord, that they may not consider any offence.

Caitanya-bhāgavata Madhya-khaṇḍa 28.186

vede ihā koṭi koṭi muni vedavyāse
varṇibena nānā mate aśeṣa-viśeṣe

Jayapatākā Swami: Millions of Veda Vyāsa munis will elaborately describe Lord Gaurāṅga’s pastimes in the Vedas.

Caitanya-bhāgavata Madhya-khaṇḍa 28.187

ei mate madhya-khaṇḍe prabhura sannyāsa
ye kathāśunile haya caitanyera dāsa

Jayapatākā Swami: So, in this Madhya-khaṇḍa, Lord Caitanya’s accepting of sannyāsa is described. Whoever hears this pastime, will certainly become a servitor of Lord Śrī Caitanya.!

Haribol! Gaura Haribol!

Caitanya-bhāgavata Madhya-khaṇḍa 28.188

madhya-khaṇḍe īśvarera sannyāsa-grahaṇa
ihāra śravaṇe mile kṛṣṇa-prema-dhana

Jayapatākā Swami: In this Madhya-khaṇḍa, Lord Gaurāṅga’s acceptance of sannyāsa, whoever hears these pastimes will achieve the wealth of kṛṣṇa-prema, pure love for Kṛṣṇa.

Caitanya-bhāgavata Madhya-khaṇḍa 28.189

śrī-kṛṣṇa-caitanya nityānanda dui prabhu
ei vāñchā ihā yena nā pāsari kabhu

Jayapatākā Swami: O Śrī Kṛṣṇa Caitanya and Lord Nityānanda! Two Lords, this is my only desire that I should never forget these Two.

Caitanya-bhāgavata Madhya-khaṇḍa 28.190

hena dina haibe ki caitanya-nityānanda
dekhiba veṣṭita catur-dike bhakta-vṛnda

Jayapatākā Swami: Will that day ever come, when I will see Lord Caitanya and Lord Nityānanda, surrounded on all sides by Their devotees?

So Vṛndāvana dāsa Ṭhākura is expressing his heart felt desire that he wants to never forget Lord Caitanya and Lord Nityānanda. He is hoping to see Lord Caitanya and Lord Nityānanda surrounded by Their devotees.

Caitanya-bhāgavata Madhya-khaṇḍa 28.191

āmāra prabhura prabhu śrī-gaurasundara
e baḍa bharasā citte dhari nirantara

Jayapatākā Swami: My Master’s Master is the Lord Śrī Gaurasundara. This is my great expectation, in my heart, which I will keep forever in my heart.

So Vṛndāvana dāsa Ṭhākura had accepted Lord Nityānanda as his Master. And Lord Nityānanda is the servant of Lord Gaurāṅga.

Caitanya-bhāgavata Madhya-khaṇḍa 28.192

mukheha ye jana bale ‘nityānanda-dāsa’
se avaśya dekhibeka caitanya-prakāśa

Jayapatākā Swami: Whoever says with his mouth “I am the servant of Lord Nityananda!" He will certainly attain darśana of Lord Caitanya’s manifestation.

Purport (by Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura): Even if one has not realized that he is a servant of Nityānanda, who is the original spiritual master, if one externally accepts himself as servant of the spiritual master, then he will certainly attain the darśana of Śrī Caitanya.

Jayapatākā Swami: So here His Divine Grace Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura is explaining that if one accepts, himself or herself as the servitor of the spiritual master, then he will certainly attaint he darśana of Lord Śrī Caitanya. Haribol!

Caitanya-bhāgavata Madhya-khaṇḍa 28.193

caitanyera priyatama nityānanda-rāya
prabhu-bhṛtya-saṅga yena nā chāḍe āmāya

Jayapatākā Swami: Lord Nityānanda is the most dear to Lord Śrī Caitanya. May I never become bereft of association with the Lord’s servitors.

Purport (by Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura): “May I never engage in any activity other than the service of my gurudeva, Śrī Nityānanda Prabhu.”

Caitanya-bhāgavata Madhya-khaṇḍa 28.194

jagatera prema-dātā hena nityānanda
tāna hañā yena bhajoṅ prabhu-gauracandra

Jayapatākā Swami: Lord Nityānanda is the bestower of pure love for Kṛṣṇa, to the entire universe. Therefore, let me worship Lord Śrī Gauracandra, through Lord Nityānanda.

Caitanya-bhāgavata Madhya-khaṇḍa 28.195

saṁsārera pāra hai' bhaktira sāgare
ye ḍubibe se bhajuka nitāi-cāndere

Jayapatākā Swami: Whoever wants to cross the ocean of birth and death, and enter into the sea of pure devotional service, should worship Lord Nityānandacanda.

Caitanya-bhāgavata Madhya-khaṇḍa 28.196

kāṣṭhera putalī yena kuhake nācāya
ei-mata gauracandra more ye bolāya

Jayapatākā Swami: Just as a puppet master makes his wooden puppets dance, in that way Lord Gauracandra makes me speak.

Caitanya-bhāgavata Madhya-khaṇḍa 28.197

pakṣī yena ākāśera anta nāhi pāya
yata śakti thāke, tata dūra uḍi' yāya

Jayapatākā Swami: A bird cannot read the end of the sky - as much as their strength allows, they can rise that high in the sky.

Caitanya-bhāgavata Madhya-khaṇḍa 28.198

ei-mata caitanya-kathāra anta nāi
yāra yata-dūra śakti sabe tata gāi

Jayapatākā Swami: In this way, there is no limit to the transcendental topics of Lord Caitanya. Only one can narrate them as far as his strength allows.

Caitanya-bhāgavata Madhya-khaṇḍa 28.199

śrī-kṛṣṇa-caitanya-nityānanda-cānda jāna

Jayapatākā Swami: Accepting the lotus feet of Lord Śrī Kṛṣṇa Caitanya and Lord Nityānanda, as my life and soul, I Vṛndāvana dāsa, sing the glories of Their lotus feet.

Translation: “O Śrī Caitanya-candra, I offer You my repeated obeisances. You are the personification of Kṛṣṇa’s blissful pastimes, and You are extraordinarily beautiful, having a dazzling golden luster. You have awarded to the people of the world the topmost mellows of ecstatic love for Kṛṣṇa.”

Jayapatākā Swami: You see, normally all the scriptures of the world tell us about love for God. That we should love God. But actually, Lord Caitanya was giving out love for Godhead freely. And therefore, although this is the highest perfection, He is giving it to everyone, without discriminating who is qualified, who is not qualified.

So therefore, we all get the special mercy of the Lord. His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupāda, distributed this mercy of Lord Caitanya all over the world.

Haribol!

Śrī-gaurāṅga-līlā-smaraṇa-maṅgala-stotram-34
—Śrila Bhaktivinoda-ṭhākura

Translation: When He was overwhelmed by the gopīs love, some fools criticized Him. When with stick in hand the Lord struck them, they became enemies and planned their revenge. I meditate on Lord Gaurāṅga, who became a splendid lion to punish those averse to Him.”

Jayapatākā Swami: Śrīla Bhaktivinoda Ṭhākura, is summarizing the situation, prior to the Lord taking sannyāsa, to deliver the people who are averse to Him.

Śrī-gaurāṅga-līlā-smaraṇa-maṅgala-stotram - 35
Śrila Bhaktivinoda-ṭhākura

Translation: With a mind to remove their offenses, when He was 24 years old, He accepted sannyāsa from Keśava Bhāratī at Katwa in the month of Māgha. I meditate on Lord Caitanya, who is worshiped by the learned, His head shaved and a daṇḍa in His hand.

Jayapatākā Swami: So, Lord Caitanya, at the age of 24, He accepted sannyāsa. This was predicted in the Vedas, that this avatāra would come and would spend 24 years as a householder, and 24 years as a sannyāsī.

Caitanya-bhāgavata Madhya-khaṇḍa 28.101

prabhura sannyāsa-kathā-śravaṇera phala—
śuna śuna āre bhāi, prabhura sannyāsa
ye kathāśunile karma-bandha yāya nāśa

Jayapatākā Swami: Listen, listen, my dear brother! To the Lord’s accepting sannyāsa. Hearing these descriptions or this narration, will destroy one’s bondage resulting from fruitive activities or karmic reactions.

Murāri Gupta Kaḍaca 2.18.31-32:

Then on another day, Kṛṣṇa went to the best of places, Kaṇṭaka-grāma, accepted Keśava Bhāratī as His guru. He gave complete fulfilment to that person (Keśava Bhāratī) who was conversant with all the Vedas.

Jayapatākā Swami: Lord Kṛṣṇa Caitanya who is actually an avatāra of Kṛṣṇa, He went to Katwa which was known as Kaṇṭaka-nagara, in ancient India. There He took sannyāsa from Keśava Bhāratī Mahārāja, who was the knower of all the Vedas and who was actually a devotee.Although he had taken sannyāsa from the Saṅkara school, as it was very hard to find a Vaiṣṇava sannyāsī in North India.

Murāri Gupta Kaḍaca 2.18.33

He who hears attentively this narration of Śrī Hari, immediately gives up sins, attains shelter at Śrī Nṛhari's feet, the incomparable bhakti and detachment from all that does not lead to Śrī Hari's noble shelter.

Jayapatākā Swami: So, listening to this narration of Lord Śrī Gaurahari’s taking sannyāsa, one gives up all his karmic sinful reactions. He gets the shelter of Lord Gaurahari’s lotus feet. He gets incomparable pure devotion for the Lord, and he is detached from all things which are not favorable to the shelter of Lord Śrī Gaurahari.

Murāri Gupta Kaḍaca 3.2.19

One who hears this auspicious narration of the Lord's acceptance of sannyāsa, which awakens bliss in the hearts of the twice born, achieves complete freedom from the bondage of material existence and attains whatever his heart may desire.

Thus ends the chapter: Phalaśruti: The Result of Hearing About Nimai’s sannyāsa.

Jayapatākā Swami: So, we see that by hearing this pastime of the Lord, we can achieve pure love for Kṛṣṇa, will achieve all our heart’s desires. After hearing the pastime, my heart only desires more and more devotion for Lord Caitanya.

Gaurāṅga! Nityānanda!

Hare Kṛṣṇa!
