So today we are assembled for the sacred vivaha yajna. In the Bhagavata Gita, 18th Chapter, 6th Verse, says that one should never give up yajna, and there Prabhupada describes how vivaha yajna is meant for the upliftment of the human being.
Now the sanyasis may not be formally engage in the vivaha yajna, but the younger people can encourage them to perform this yajna.
Srila Prabhupada, he was active in many vivaha yajna, and according to the Sankhya Sanskar Dipika, this is the ashram of responsibilities. One is responsible to parents, to the children, to each other, and one has to earn income.
Lord Caitanya was a perfect grihastha in His early life. He would feed 10-20 sanyasis everyday. He would feed and give charities to the poor grihasthas, and His mother was thinking, “How he is feeding so many people, we have no food in the house.”, but then suddenly someone would stop by, and give a donation of food.
So Laxmipriya, Vishnupriya, they would cook for the guests. So like this Lord Caitanya and Nimai Pandit, Gaura Hari was a ideal grihastha. So the grihasthas have a license to enjoy life but there are also many responsibilities, and two together show the ideal example of life.
So we are hoping that this couple would be very successful in their grihastha life. They would be peaceful, happy, responsible. You get the higher taste, and help many people to be also Krishna Consciousness.
We are seeing that many grihasthas now are doing very wonderful preaching work. They are doing bhakti vriksha as well as other kinds of preaching work. So that also… this should be the last birth before you go back to the spiritual world.
Now children are also getting all the opportunities to be Krishna Conscious. Of course it’s their choice, but if their parents are good examples, if their parents are very loving and caring, the children also usually become very nice devotees.
So in this way, the children become suputras and do the sraddha and other rituals when the parents leave.
So we hope that this marriage would be very very (inaudible10.34) and ideal.
Hare Krishna.
So they should treat each other very nice. You should have a lot’s of patience, and with Krishna Consciousness.
Hare Krishna.
