The following is a lecture given by His Holiness Jayapatākā Swami Mahārāja on February 2, 1992 – in Coimbatore, India. The lecture begins with a reading from Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam 2.4.1.
Sa. Jama. Security watcher by. Said Maharaj Parikshit, the son of Uttara, after hearing the speeches of Sukhadev Goswami which are all about the truth of the self, applied his concentration faithfully upon Lord Kṛṣṇa. Report the words the team is very significant. This means existing and chasing. Both imports are perfectly applicable in the case of Mahārāja Rickshaw. The whole Vedic adventure is to draw one’s attention entirely unto the lotus feet of Lord Kṛṣṇa without any diversion as instructed in the Bhagavad Gītā 1515. Fortunately, Mahārāja’s prediction had already been attracted to the Lord from the very beginning of his body in the womb of his mother. In the womb of his mother he was struck by the Brahmastra atomic bomb released by Aswatama. But by the grace of the Lord he was saved from being burnt by the fiery weapon.
And since then the king continuously concentrated his mind upon Lord Kṛṣṇa. Since then the king continuously concentrated his mind upon Lord Kṛṣṇa which made him perfectly chaste in devotional service. So by natural sequence he was a chaste devotee of the Lord and when he further heard from Śrīla Sukhadeva Goswami that one should worship the Lord only and no one else, even though full of all desires or desireless, his natural affection for Kṛṣṇa was strengthened. We have already discuss these topics. To become a pure devotee of Lord Kṛṣṇa, two things are very much essential. Namely, having a chance to be born in the family of a devotee and having the blessings of a bona fide spiritual master. By the grace of Lord Kṛṣṇa Parikshit Maharaj had both opportunities.
He was born in a family of such devotees as the Pandavas and just to continue the dynasty of the Bandos and show them special favor, the Lord specifically saved Maharaj Parikshit who later on by the arrangement of the Lord was cursed by the boy of Abramana and was able to get the association of such a spiritual master as Sukhadev Goswara. In the Caitanya the it is said that a fortunate person by the mercy of the spiritual aspect and Lord Kṛṣṇa achieves a path of devotional service. This was perfectly applicable in the case of Maharash Mauricio. By way of being born in a family of devotees, he automatically came in touch with Kṛṣṇa and after being so contacted, he constantly remembered him. Consequently, Lord Kṛṣṇa gave the King a further chance of development in devotional service by introducing him to Sukadev Goswami.
It’s nowhere divine devotee of the Lord with perfect knowledge and self realization and by hearing From a bona fide spiritual master he was perfectly able to concentrate his changed mind further upon Lord Kṛṣṇa as a matter of course. Thus end the Bhaktivedatta Swami Translation and reply to text 1 of chapter 4 canto 2 of the Śrīmad Bhāgavata in the matter of the process of creation. 505Th year of our Lord Chaitanya Mahavaku on 2nd February 197092 at the. In front of their lord cc chakra morning time his divine grace.
This very important verse of the Śrīmad Bhāgavata the glories of Rukvit Maharaj are revealed that Rickshit Maharaj was personally able to see Lord Kṛṣṇa in the womb of his mother Aswataba wanted to kill the last sion or remnant of being part of our dynasty so out of India’s he sent his Mamastra weapon to kill Parishit in the womb Putara, the mother of Parikshit went to Lord Kṛṣṇa and prayed to him Neighbor did not contain these O Jagad Fatih, Protector of the Universe Please Lord of Lords, have your mercy upon me that the weapon is coming to kill my embryo, the embryo of my child in the womb Let me may be healed but please heal my child if that is your desire so the mother Uttar she was so responsible that she wanted to see her child saved.
Of course this is in contrast to the modern day family planning methods where the mothers are encouraged to kill the babies in the womb before they can take birth. Before it was considered such a great sin that even the Devas could not kill Khalad while he was in the womb of his mother. They waited till he was born and then they would make a kill him. But in the meantime the Rādhā Muni informed them that Prahlad was a great Bhagavat, a great Bhakta so they spared Prahlad. Uttara was very great devotee of Misha. When she was in danger she deeply remembered Kṛṣṇa and went to the Lord directly. Mothers are really bound to protect their children whether in a womb or whether a born. Of course mothers don’t even have such a duty. Generally they are spontaneously loving their children so they are protected.
However, The Parikrit Maharaj was so fortunate that he could have a mother who was a great devotee. He could see Kṛṣṇa while he was in the womb so his whole life he was looking for Kṛṣṇa that’s why his name was parikshit1 who is doing Krisha who is always analyzing so he is testing where Is Kṛṣṇa. What I have seen in my womb is looking at everyone looking for that same person. Once you see the Shah, you can never forget it. So. D. Maharaj also was my highly blessed because he had a bona fide group. He could achieve Sukhariv Goswami, the great, realized devotee of the Lord. This is the. Perfection. Actually, Sukhadev Goswami, excuse me, rich in Maharaj, he was born as the emperor of India.
Of course, he was born as a son, grandson of Arjuna, son of Adhimanu, he was the heir to the throne. He became the next emperor of India. Abharat defending heart included a very wide expanse of land. Practically the whole world, civilized world at that time. When the Pandavas did the Rajasuya Yaquiya, they sent the four brothers one in four directions. And according to Mahabharata, the areas we covered went through the whole of South India, the whole of Indochina and parts of China, all of Tibet and up to far north into Russia, the far east, going entire Asia up to the borders of civilization at that time. So they were covering the whole world, the kings from Hastināpur. So putting in Maharaj, he was not only Indian, he was the emperor of India and the whole civilized world. He was the grandson of Arjuna.
So he was a very highly elevated person. At the same time, he wanted and he needed to find a bona fide guru. Sometimes we find people india, they say, I am already born india, I have got everything in my blood, so I don’t need anything else. But this is not our system of Vedic culture. Just because we are born in a good family, you don’t need a guru. Everyone needs a guru. Even Kṛṣṇa told Arjuna, You should approach a bona spiritual master, you should acquire from him, take lessons from him, listen to his instructions, surrender to him from him. You should know the truth by serving him. He will reveal this truth to you. Because he has seen the truth, he knows the truth. Even Arjuna was called by Kṛṣṇa. He approached the guru Suprikshit Maharaj. He was approaching the guru. This is necessary for everyone.
If it was necessary for Arjun, then why not for the ordinary people of modern day India who have not got the same opportunity, the same development of spirituality as what was present thousands of years before? This is not a true system. This is a time immemorial. One is to surrender to a guru and take instruction, make inquiries on a guru. So when Parikshit Maharaj was cursed to die in seven days. See, normally if somebody is forced to die in seven days, they become very concerned what to do. We learned Kalpata when one became the Buddhist star of Bengali Hill. His name was Uttar. He was told by the doctor, you’re going to die very soon. So what did he do? He grabbed the hand of his doctor. And he told the doctor, save me. I am going to China. I don’t want to die.
You saved me. I want to live. So all the newspaper men, they came to see. The doctor said, doctor, what have you done? Don’t you feel ashamed? Your patient was grabbing your hand, begging him to save him. And you couldn’t save his life. The doctor said, my dear friends, please understand. Many times he requested this of me. Many times I say to him, there’s only this one time. I feel. So. At that moment. Of course there’s a husband called Vandamaraj. He was also told by the Devas. He asked he was the general for the Devas for some time, fighting with them. And then in western, you can have anything you want. You can have wealth, kingdom, women, power, fame, whatever you want. Anything you ask for the mistake. Power.
So the first thing he asks is, tell me, how long do I have to live? You mean that neighbors, you know how hard everyone lives in this life. What is the use of getting so many things if you don’t live to enjoy it? So when he asked us, the neighbors told him, you have one moment. You have one moment. So then he said that I don’t need anything from you. When I got one moment to live, what could I do and what you’re offering me? He said, I want to go immediately to my temple and surrender to Kṛṣṇa and take shelter of the bhaktas. So immediately he went and he paid his dandavar to Kṛṣṇa and surrendered everything to Kṛṣṇa. So because of surrendering, in that one moment, he got deliverance. So when someone is getting the warning you are about to die.
You are guarding the darkest hand. Saving. But the darkness cannot save everybody. Everyone is potentially going to die. Sooner or later Daddy will meet the body. But then we remember Kṛṣṇa Dharana and task with Then we are guaranteed deliverance like Maharaj. So what will we do for the kid Maharaj? He was given seven days. So he asked all the Rishis, all the Moonis, all the Jogis, all the Gyanis, all our Karmis, all the Dharma, Jogis, Raja Jogis. Yes, everyone. What can I do? What is the duty of someone who is about to die? Please tell me. And for everyone’s benefit, what is the duty of those who will Die in the future. Because we’re all going to die and see. Please don’t. So there was a big discussion on the Karma countries. Those who are the smartas. So you do Punya.
By punya you get a good birth. So they’re discussing. But in seven days time they cannot guarantee how to give this man very high position. How they can guarantee a liberation. Seven days. Not enough time to do so many Karma. Then they gar those who study Vedānta Sutra they discuss it. But it takes a long time to study Vedānta Sutra. Seven days, not enough time. So they couldn’t give a guarantee. The Jogis. It takes years together just to learn Hatha Yoga or to speak our Goa to Diyama, Patti Niyama, all the various level. Often it takes a long time. It took Buddha Day with six years of continuous meditation. And that was like a record. And he only realized the material of Nirvana or to speak of Brahman Yavana. So it’s very difficult. So decorate the seven days. What they will do?
What they will teach him what they will do at seven days he needed preparation. So there was a big confusion and everyone was discussing. But nobody could. No one was able to say okay, I have to wait seven days guaranteed. That moment Sukhdav Goswami entered into the assembly. So everyone offered him his bed. He was known son of Yaz. He was a very brave liberated soul. So they all offered their obeisances and respect to him. Stood up in that respect. So then Parikshit Maharaj repeated the same question to what is the duty of one who’s about to die? What is the duty of all those in the world? When he died, I have only got seven days. What should I do? Sukhdev Goswami. He said seven days is a long time. He referred to the same story of Maharash Katvanka.
Maharash Katvanka was doing one more and in that time he achieved. You achieve protection. So you got seven days. What’s the problem? So much time. I will teach you Bhagavad simply by remembering the Shiva and Bhāgavata. You can achieve all the things the Shiva and Bhāgavatam is. Amital is a nectar eternal mort immortality giving nectar. So Sukdam or Sukh Gosari has this glorified Kṛṣṇa as having wondrously will meaning our existence in seven days. 18,000 Verses. He spoke for R for seven days and seven nights. He didn’t heed. Eventually he simply listened and asked questions. So in the few Verses before. He was telling Bharisha Maharaj that Muishad simply fixed his mind on the devotional service of the Lord.
Whether a person is desiring all kinds of material things or whether a person is completely desireless and simply wants to serve the Lord out of Bhakti or whether one is God for book D, They should all engage in serving to the supreme. Someone who wants the grace. Sarva Kava and Moksha Kama is the two side of the same coin. And ocamo is a transcendental position. If one desires material things, then it’s not only one or two things. You have to desire all type of things. Once you desire material things, then you have to have a house. If you have a house, you have to have dcr, you have to have tv, you have to have air conditioner, you have to have this one. That means so many things you need. You have to have car then always better car. Two in one.
We have more than you want to get more. Liz phone. So things are sorry will come. Once you desire material things, it means so many desires to be there. It goes unlimited. And then some great jokes. They want to give up in the material world, give up everything and become one with God. So they want moksha. So that means they give out everything. They don’t want anything. The mantras they neither want to enjoy, neither they want to give up everything. Emergent God they want to serve the Lord. So they see everything as the Lord’s property. So they use all of the Lord’s energy in the Lord’s service. So they don’t give up the things. They don’t have anything to give up. Everything is the Lord’s already. But they lose everything in the Lord’s service.
So these Pharisees are there all desire, no desire, all desire. Desire for the creation and desire to serve Kṛṣṇa. That means all hell go to more desire. So putting sin Maharaj he was. He wanted to use everything in Vishnu’s service. So was judiciary Arjuna. Although they were the emperor, they had the entire empire at their command. The biggest army there. So much unlimited wealth they could put on assuming yakyas using mountains of gold. But they did everything for the pleasure of Kṛṣṇa. If Kṛṣṇa didn’t want them to do it, they won’t do it. Because Kṛṣṇa what the holy they are doing. So they were all novel. One can help. You can help fire and be without desire by devotional service. That is a wonderful thing. But even if a man is a beggar, but he is still carbon humble.
You see, there’s Like a story. There was once one father. And he was trying to get his daughter marry. But he was a very miserable person. So when he finally found a son in law to marry his daughter, he made so many balances. I will give you a bed. I will give you money. I will give this, that everything. But you can take care of my daughter. Very nice. But then when he bought the bed, he bought the worst junk bed. This good looking. But it was worse. Mango wood, this bed all over. But as soon as he got repaired, within a very short time after marrying the daughter of that man. Then Sarila found that his. So then he started telling everyone. Actually I don’t need all this bed and things. It’s much more natural to sleep on the floor in a nice cushion.
And this repose to nature. This a more natural way. The natural path by doing natural bathing. I am sleeping on the floor. He’s telling about how great sitting has a floor is. Actually he seems that he’s very renowned. Oh, what a renowned guy. Sitting in the fore. Actually he has no bed. What he will do? He has no choice. He better broke it. So he just talking loud. Actually it’s not real pronunciation. We had bed him slowly sleeping on the bed. He would be telling about how great it is to sleep at the poor. He is just adjusting. He has no bed. So he is glorifying. How wonderful to sleep at his boy that way. Some people they suffer material distresses. Husband and wife, they have argument. Husband takes her, he takes care. This family life is too much trouble. But that is not your renunciation.
That means you are not getting any peace in the family. You want to leave. That means that if you had peace in the family, you won’t be nursed. Only because some jambala is there. So you want to leave. There is not denunciation. There is a false renunciation or very superficial. Then when in Satya ashram someone is also disturbing. You may think Ale this is also trouble. Let me go back to the family. There is that way. Lord Chaitanya called this Margaret Bhairagya Monkey. Monkey renunciation. Monkeys look very renowned in the forest. They are living. It.
(Side B of the Cassette)
Only because some Jawa is there. So you want to leave. That is not enunciation. There’s a false denunciation or very superficial. Then when in Sanyas Ashram, someone is also disturbing. You may think, Ali, this is also trouble. Let me go back to the family. There is that way. Lord Chaitanya called this market Bhairati monkey renunciation. Monkeys look very renowned in the forest. They’re living naked without any clothing. They’re just eating their fruits. But their mind is only how to enjoy, how to get what they want to be happy. The real transcendentalist is going for spiritual bliss. Because he’s developed a higher taste. Therefore, he wants to taste the spiritual happiness. Because. Not because of rejecting some difficulties facing. But because of actually wanting to experience a higher realization. Therefore, Lord Chaitanya, he didn’t permit that his Vhasta devotees prematurely renounced.
Is somebody the name of Brahmachari. That’s another thing. Or else after fulfilling that rehasant duties, they renounce. That was also another thing. But the last one had developed that taste. The higher taste. He didn’t recommend anybody should suddenly change their situation. It would be very artificial. In fact, Goen Chaitanya, he was very strict Sajas. One of his Brahmacharis was talking improperly with the water. And he rejected and said, you cannot be with me anymore. You cannot see me. You have to stay distant because you are not following properly the room. At the same time, one of his Vihasana. The Lord is Śrī Lanka. He he was over here thinking all the devotees of Bengal to Purī for this Rajyakta festival. He saw that his wife was expecting. That she was fighting pregnant. So he said, you are expecting a child? I said, yes.
So very good. You name that child like this. You call the boy by this name. You’re going to have a son. So he was not only encouraging his Bihas have children. He wants giving name, he wants blessing. So what is a proverb for Vihasta is another proverb for the Brahmachari and vice versa. So those who are in the Bihasta Dharma, they have to follow their Behasta system, raise Vishakat’s children. And also Brahmacharis and Vyas, I mean Sanyasis, Varṇa, Vasudis, they have different degrees. So out of misdream. Sometimes people think, oh, if I do Bhakti, if I do Kṛṣṇa consciousness, I have to give up everything. Kṛṣṇa consciousness means we have to realize we don’t have anything to give up. Everything is Kṛṣṇa and we have to Know how to use Kṛṣṇa’s things for Kṛṣṇa in the way which is reaching the Kṛṣṇa.
Vihastas use their things for Kṛṣṇa following a Vihasta rules and regulations and worshipping Kṛṣṇa from the house and the Brahmacharis and sanyasis. They have to worship Kṛṣṇa from their Ashram and avoid unnecessarily engaging in any kind of unauthorized activity. I mean any kind of entangling exodus. So in this way, according to different Dharma and different prescriptions. Now preaching baras he was given seven days. So where’s the question of worried about family or worrying that he has to leave anyway. So now he has to just focus what to do. I will give him the last chance to write actually putting in Parash. He could have called the Parabaras and told them, look, I want to counteract this curse. This man and his boy cursed me. So let me counteract the curse and survive. He was enough or he was horrible enough. He could have counteracted.
He could have counteracted. But he was already getting that age. His heart was old enough. So he forget that this is Kṛṣṇa’s blessing. I gave an awarding seven days. So now maybe I can give fully back to Kṛṣṇa in this opportunity. You see, modern day politician he stayed through the very vague end of life. One politician was governor. He told Prabhupāda that now I want to leave politics. He Prabhupāda left you the heavenly. These politicians they don’t need to be. But previously the Vedic culture. Whether he has found his suffers old or not. They go in Himalayas and they will do their hydra prast Mahaprastan. When they were just meditate on the Lord and go back to G. They would just walk and walk into the Himalayas chanting the holy names, remembering the Lord. Until they felt that they went in.
They wouldn’t go on walking and walking up through Bhatridan holy places until finally they just passed away like that. It was an honorable way for our Chakti to leave the world. What’s the use of guarding and save me, give me bypass do give me violence. This exact thing at a timely leave with tools all in your body completely. However, to the modern you see development. You can die with the newest hospital pill send to your son. Yes, my sister she was also went to hospital for minor operations. My poor ashram sister. And again a this treatment. And so she got complications and they put her intensive care for something like seven months. He made her on all life support systems. Finally they couldn’t save her life. Although she’s Younger than me, she passed away.
I went to see her twice, but she was almost in coma. She could see me, but she couldn’t speak. I gave her some Tandra jaw and to see anything for your welfare. Finally after passing away, hospitals had to build $900,000 in America. That’s about three quarters of rupees. Three quarter. Now insurance company had to pay 80%. So they wanted my family down pay the other 20%. They say. Why would you get 150,000? $200,000. Sorry, but this is going on a big business. It keep you salam. Save my heart will keep you alive. But where you go after you die, nobody knows. You see Vedas up to you. Your medicine is there. Keep someone alive. If you don’t know where, when you should know where you’re going. It means you have to leave the body. Nobody is going to live forever.
We have to leave this body. So we should know where we are going. This is why Purī Chitwaraji wanted to know what is the duty of someone about to die. Wherever I go, how do I get there to Kṛṣṇa after I leave this body? So then Sukhadev Goswami sleep very clearly. So then Punishin became very happy. He became very happy, very relieved. Because his whole life he was worshipping Kṛṣṇa. Then heard that whether you want material things, you want liberation or you want to simply worship Kṛṣṇa because of devotion to Kṛṣṇa, everyone should worship Kṛṣṇa. Everyone should do one thing to the supreme person. She was very happy because he was already doing that without having guru. He was in such a good family. He was already worshipping Kṛṣṇa. And he could just see how Kṛṣṇa was so merciful.
Even you go to Kṛṣṇa for something, you want some help. He is still in a blessing. If you want to go to Kṛṣṇa because you want to get liberation, still helps you. And if you worship his soul of devotion, that will be next to you eternally with him in his eternal emotion. So Rickshaw Maharaj, he was very happy to hear these things. He was very relieved. But he wanted to know more about Kṛṣṇa. He wanted to get more information. See. But he was really concentrating on Kṛṣṇa. How Kṛṣṇa is so wonderful. Kṛṣṇa grandfather Arjuna by speaking Bhagavad Gītā. The Bhagavad Gītā here refers verse 15, chapter 15. I have seated everyone’s heart and from me come remembrance, knowledge and forgetfulness. By all the Vedas I am to be known.
Indeed, I am the compiler of the Vedānta and I am the knower of the Vedas. In other words, this is Mentioned here by Prabhupāda that Sukadem of the prediction Maharaj is fixing his mind on Kṛṣṇa that this is the purpose of all he made us. Kṛṣṇa himself is explaining that. By all the Vedas I am to be known. The ultimate purpose of the Vedas is to know Kṛṣṇa, to know part of Prabhupāda. Kṛṣṇa is the part of Prabhupāda. So all the nadons are gradually taking us. We do the Yoga, we do Gana, we do Karma, we do everything. What is the ultimate objective that is to know Kṛṣṇa? You go to primary, secondary and then you go to the Bachelor awards, then Masjid PhD. What’s the ultimate goal? So ultimate goal of the Vedant is to know Kṛṣṇa the night Sister.
Amongst all the Vedas the God is originally into normies. In all the Vedas you can find verses which were directly brought by Kṛṣṇa which discuss reaching the supreme verse. When we are doing the installation Devourer, the glory of the Lord from Replay, from Champaign, from Atarba, made from yahshua, from all 11 different śloka glorifying the Lord from Ramayan, from Ahabar, from Upanishads, from the Qurans, from Hagavas, from Gītā, from all the variants, books, Vedas there are verses which are leading one to Kṛṣṇa because this is the ultimate goal. So age of Kali is very difficult to perform all the Agavas, very difficult to perform all of the rituals because Kali Yuga there is no facility for all these very detailed rituals.
But in Angel Kali there’s very good facility to have devotion for Kṛṣṇa to reach Kṛṣṇa is easier in ancient Kali than any other age. All the other systems are very difficult to do. If you want to do Karma, you want to do Asave Yajna where you won’t find any Brāhmaṇa to do proper Yankyas, you won’t get pure ghee to do that third Yankya. If you want to meditate, how do you meditate? Where is the quiet place? You can’t meditate in a city. There’s two wheelers going by overhead the planes are going if it is called Himalayam now here in Nepal as Nepal Airways has special give along a helicopter tour show you all the hidden valleys. So you want to meditate. All of the tourists are looking from England and Germany. Oh look at there’s a yogī meditating.
You have to mine your clubs even if you find a quiet place but your mind will be there. Who can stay away from friendship, family, nation. They are thinking about what am I left? What’s going on what’s the newspaper? So very hard to practice the meditation in the days here. Maybe one very rare person can do so in Gyana. With the intelligence to understand all the variant points and then live by that. It’s very difficult. So many temptations are there. Actually, Gyan Yoga, they say when you take sannyas, you can’t get liberation. So how many sanyasis are there? Even when sanyasis are not strictly following, in many cases. So then the means that we’re just discussing, but we want that she is a real result who’s going to take sannyas.
But Bhakti Yoga, you can practice whether you’re Vihasta or whether you’re sanyasa, because you do everything as a seva Kṛṣṇa. Therefore you are in a transcendental position. So in this age, if anyone is serious about achieving perfection in yoga, it’s not just a hobby, it’s a life and death. We are going to die. Where are we going to go after we die? The Vedas are meant to guide us through life so we can lead life in such a way. We actually achieve liberation. We actually achieve the lotus feet of Kṛṣṇa. Otherwise, what is the use? The Vedas are not just, you see, story books that are giving some interesting stories. They are giving lessons in life. Lessons from the life of great souls of previous times. So we can guide our own life to also achieve the objective of life, the protection of life.
This is a problem with modern society. There is no goal in life. People are living. They don’t know what the future is. I went to the Epcot center in Florida. They said, the experimental prototype community of tomorrow. They want to show what the future is going to be. They don’t know what the future is going to be. They don’t know what the goal should be. Enlightened, they said there will better machines. Finally, they showed two men and women in a spacesuit. And their light is coming from the spacesuit. And they said, tomorrow. A better today. A better tomorrow. Tomorrow. The future will hold. Tomorrow, science future. Tomorrow. And they showed the suit. People turn to spacesuits and start to spin around. Emergency. Each other merge into the light. Tomorrow. We don’t know what tomorrow is. Finished. So they came up with merging.
They don’t know what to what they are trying to design. A better car, better plane, better rocket. But for what? We still dying. Where do we go when we die? I don’t know. Science doesn’t know. So that’s where the Vedas are telling us. There’s A Pura Janma. After you die, you take birth again according to your consciousness. How you develop your consciousness, that’s the next birth you get. If you get develop your consciousness like animal, you get animal birth. If you develop your consciousness like a human being, you’re a human birthday. If you develop your consciousness to God consciousness, you take your position at the side of God, side of Kṛṣṇa Bhagawan eternally you don’t take breath again. So this is what the Sugadeva Wastavi was giving to question. And anyone who takes shelter of Kṛṣṇa promises to come to me.
Mother speaker, I made king like Brigitte or I made Sana Ravana like Sukadev who are already at liberation Gītā Kṛṣṇa is saying. Get me super. Percent. 90%. Then whether you are born in a sinful family, some foreign family or whether someone’s a businessman or whatever, a simple woman or whether they normally women are very intellectual. Some are very intellectual. But normally they are not so intellectual. Or whether one is a worker or whether somebody is a normal background. But if they take shelter of me, the Kṛṣṇa then they have achieve, Then they will come to me. This is Kṛṣṇa’s promise. No matter what their particular birth, no matter what their background, this says Kṛṣṇa also said. That if you said unto me, you should surrender to me, give up all other Dharma, just completely surrender to me. I will protect you from all sin.
I will bring you back to me. This is my comment. This is Asithya means to take shelter. Then if we take shelter of Kṛṣṇa, we go Yati Paradp the supreme destination. What is that supreme destination has to go to Kṛṣṇa. So. Sukhdir was very fortunate because. Excuse me parishion Maharaj is very fortunate because he got the bona fide group. So we also need a bona fide spiritual master to guide us. Maybe very fortunate to be born in a good family or to be born in a wealthy family or many other facilities may be there. But we still we need a Guru. Even you are born india, everyone needs a bona fide guru. Kṛṣṇa himself should Guru imagine Sangha, Pari, Muni and Kṛṣṇa God Chaitanya to Diksha, Ramchandra and Guru. Even avatars have gurus. Just to show the public is so important. Everyone is important.
Like any guru can teach about Kṛṣṇa consciousness or Bhakti, how to reach Kṛṣṇa is a devotee of Kṛṣṇa. The one is not worthy of Kṛṣṇa, not a Maishrava. He is not qualified to be a guru to teach how to reach the supreme destination, how to get devotional Service division. So. Because of the good fortune of Ricket Maharaj informed otherwise there are thousand Rishis there, thousand munis. Thousand. Everyone has chato, muni, chato bhat. As many different munis, so many different opinions. But nobody could conclusively say seven days. I guarantee you just having a guru, you can hire a guru, it’s like. But if you buy, you can go and buy VCR in the market. But if you don’t get a good company with a warranty when it breaks down then you go and you can’t find anyone to service your machine with broken machines.
So while we have guru, you should also have warranty in there. You don’t want one year or six months, a one month warranty. You want life warranty. That if I strengthen to this discipline of succession that when I die I go back to Kṛṣṇa if I follow his instructions. You need that guarantee. So that is why Kṛṣṇa is giving this procedure. We take from a bona fide guru. We get the guarantee as long as we follow the instructions given in the manual for using. Then we are guaranteed lifetime satisfaction and at the end of life back to God him. But if we want to get a cheap thing, we don’t want to pay the price. Then we think we can cry when we get everything broken. And we don’t know we don’t have anywhere to turn. It’s a very good example.
But we are practically facing. So I just take say thank you very much for coming and participating in Rajputra festival. We hope that everyone like Manikit Maharaj will be able to achieve the supreme destination in life. Of course man got the notice. Seven days. We don’t know whether we live seven days. Seven years, 70 years. We don’t know how long we live. It was his advantage. And we all know that nobody is living now and needs more than 100. An average according to insurance company about 67, 71. Like that. But at birth there’s no guarantee that’s average. Somebody’s 85, somebody is 55, somebody’s early. Nowadays there’s cancer, there’s aids. There’s so many things lying around. You don’t know how long you will live. So this is very important. Devotees, they lose that fear of death.
Because they know that whether I live or die, I live with Kṛṣṇa. Whether I die, I go back to Kṛṣṇa. So where’s the anxiety and fear of death is for those who don’t know where we are going after they die. But if we know where we are going, there are no fear. So you Lead our life very peacefully and knowing at the end of life, I am also going back to Kṛṣṇa. Where’s the difficulty? People want a peaceful life. That peaceful life you can get simply, very easily by engaging in devotion to the Lord. Live your life with the family, engage in devotional service, do your natural propensities. And at the end of life you go back home. Back to Ghana. Thank you very much. Excuse me, sir. Yes. I have a question. Why not?
What is the role of ambition in the modern k. Where do you draw the line? Line? Ambition. Ambition. Why didn’t go ahead mean a material ambition to. Increase one’s material situation? What you mean the ambition to spiritually progressed? There’s all kinds of ambitions. I have ambition to realize Kṛṣṇa, to know Kṛṣṇa. So the point is that. Whether or not we have to Ashram naturally there are certain material things that we are doing. If our ambition is also to serve Kṛṣṇa, everything can be doubtful. You see, just like Vipra Suddh Rāma, his wife was very ambitious to have a good house, a good economic position. But Ripur Sarama, he was very poor. But he wasn’t very ambitious. He was disliked with whatever he had. He was very few of our. So he would every day make some diksha and he would bring back.
And they are living very poorly. But his wife said, you are the friend of Kṛṣṇa. Kṛṣṇa Dwarka is your friend. Why you don’t go to him and get something? We’re living like a pauper when you got the richest person in the whole creation. He can give you anything. While you’re just going on like this. Just mentioned he was very happy to give you like this. You are always pushing him. She was getting materially ambitious. So Vipur Sudharma went to see Kṛṣṇa. Taking a few cheetahs from neighbors. He wrapped in his bag and he went to see Kṛṣṇa. You know that story? Very famous story. So I won’t give the whole story since it’s already late. You know how when he went to see Kṛṣṇa received him very nicely and welcomed him. Rukmiṇī was also treating him very nice.
Kṛṣṇa was embracing him and was giving him a very formal welcome. Talking with him very nicely. So he said, anything you want. Viktor Salama he’s my friend. What I don’t want, just I can see him. I am so happy. Why should I ask anything? He won’t ask. He feels shy. How did I ask something to my friend? It will reduce the whole relationship. And Kṛṣṇa is so grateful that this devotee is giving me his devotion. I want to give. I Know, his wife wants to have something, so let me give him. But Kṛṣṇa won’t tell him because he’s feeling shy. The mind of all he’s giving me is love. What is material things compared to love? Material thing is just temporary. So he felt very shy.
If I tell him I am giving him a big house and I am giving him so much money and so many nice servants and everything. But these are all temporary things. And what my devotee is giving me devotion, which is. Kṛṣṇa felt guilty, even shy. How can I just say I am giving these things when he’s giving me something far more valuable. How can you put a price on someone’s affection and love? You cannot buy that. So when you give your devotion to Kṛṣṇa himself is thinking how I can be big. Oh, you want to have money, you want to have fame, you want to have power. All right, what is that? Nothing for Kṛṣṇa, he knows. But if you want nothing but to serve Kṛṣṇa, he will also give you that. Okay, I will give you whatever you want. Plus.
So as far as ambition, say one has got a career. He wants his dash to maintain his family. One he gets more successful. Say that he gets more wealth, he gets more power, he can do also more. He can maintain his family easier. But normally material life, there’s no end to the ambitions. They go on and on, accumulating and they are not satisfied. So for the Bhakta, when I think that everything is Kṛṣṇa. If Kṛṣṇa gives me the other fortune, I should proportionally also give back to Kṛṣṇa. Kṛṣṇa is also my co director of my company. He is also my partner, his owner. Actually I am working on behalf of him. So at least I should give a. It.
