20230920 Initiation Address

mūkaṁ karoti vācālaṁ paṅguṁ laṅghayate girim
yat-kṛpā tam ahaṁ vande śrī-guruṁ dīna-tāraṇam
paramānanda-mādhavam śrī caitanya īśvaram
Harihi oṁ tat sat

Jayapataka Swami: You heard many lectures today, I got a bit late, so I will not talk much. Now, this is bhāgavata-dhama, where the shelter of the Lord and initiation is given. Now human beings have the special facility that getting this human form of life, we can surrender unto the lotus feet of the Lord. And getting the mercy of the Lord, our lives are perfected. And after that Lord Caitanya said, we have to help those who need help. Bhārata-bhūmite haila manuṣya-janma yāra/ janma sārthaka kari' kara para-upakāra (Cc. Ādi 9.41). Now, we will try to go back to Godhead and as far as we are able to get others also to go to Godhead! Haribol! Do any of you here want to go back to God? You will also take another deserving person also along? So this is the main secret of the initiation ceremony. I hope that you will not be shy – conditioned souls are entitled to get the mercy of the Lord.

Now, my gurudeva said that I should make 50,000 disciples. That has been achieved. Now I have ordered many of my disciples and among them prominently His Holiness Gaurāṅga Prema Swami to take disciples. Those who have taken shelter from me for initiation, if they have desired to me my disciples, I will give them initiation. But after this my disciples I hope will give initiation. But the rule is that they will take guru-āśraya, shelter, and then after six months get initiated. Hare Kṛṣṇa!
