Jayapatākā Swami: So I wanted to be in Kolkata for Śrīla Prabhupāda’s appearance day. And therefore, the Janmāṣṭamī would have been there also. But Sumitra Kṛṣṇa reminded me that now is the 10th anniversary of this temple. So we may make plans, but Kṛṣṇa has His own plans! So, we observe the Janmāṣṭamī in our sampradāya today. So by Kṛṣṇa’s will, I am observing it here. This is the tenth anniversary. 5,000 years ago, Kṛṣṇa appeared in the prison house of Kaṁsa where His mother Devakī and father Vasudeva were kept. We are all kept in the prison house of the material world. But Kṛṣṇa, He is transcendental to all things. We are forced to take birth, we have no choice. But Kṛṣṇa, He appeared with four hands, saṅkha, cakra, padma and gada. It is explained this is the third birth. First birth was during the Svayambuva Manu that Vasudeva and Devakī were Pṛśni and Sutapā that time. Then Kṛṣṇa had come as Pṛśni Garbha. They had done tapasya for ten thousand years and they wanted to have a son like Kṛṣṇa. So there is no one like Him, so He agreed to be their son for three births. The second birth, they took birth as Kasyapa and Aditi. He came as Vāmanadeva. Then the third birth – and He assured them that I have taken three births, after this you will go back home back to Godhead. We want all the devotees here to go back to Kṛṣṇa. [Audio break] So Vasudeva put the baby Kṛṣṇa there next to Yaśodā and took the baby girl back and tied himself up. So Vasudeva was glorifying that Kṛṣṇa as Mahā-Viṣṇu breathes out many universes. As Garbodakaśāyī Viṣṇu He enters into each universe and gives birth to Brahmā. Then in each universe He expands as Kṣīrodakaśāyī Viṣṇu. [Audio ended abruptly]
