mūkaṁ karoti vācālaṁ paṅguṁ laṅghayate girim
yat-kṛpā tam ahaṁ vande śrī-guruṁ dīna-tāraṇam
hariḥ oṁ tat sat

Jayapataka Swami: I will answer some questions now.

Question: Guru Mahārāja could you please describe more about the baka-vrata and vaiḍāla-vrata.

Jayapataka Swami: The baka, the ducks are always looking down and quack, quack, I am very humble, I am most humble. No one is as humble as me in the whole world. To get some lābha, pūjā, pratiṣṭha. That is the imitator baka-vrata. And the cat vrata, he is little tricky. He wants to get the people to respect him by hook or by crook.

Question: In our gṛhastha life how can we have a Kṛṣṇa conscious child?

Jayapatākā Swami: I was just reading the sixth canto of the Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam about King Citraketu, he was the emperor of the world and had many wives, but everyone was barren. He had no children. So he was very morose. But the king needs a child to hand the kingdom. The normal thing for the gṛhastha is that the children do the saṁskāras like śrāddhā and so on. That saves the parents from hell. So he got a child by the blessing of Aṅgīra Muni. He was told by Aṅgīra Muni this son will give you distress and happiness. So when the child was born he was very happy, wow! He gave out cows and gold! Wow! How many ringgits for a kilo of gold? One ounce is about 1800 dollars. 8 million ringgits. He was giving kilos and kilos of gold. So he was very happy because he had a son. Then he gave lot of affection to the queen for giving the son. The other queens became envious. We are not getting any more affection from the king. Because of this child. So they gave the child poison and killed him. Then the king was very sad. Then Aṅgīra Muni and Nārada Muni came and talked to the king. They told him how this material world is like a dream. So we can have different relationships like wife, children, country, all these things, but when life is over everything finishes. It is actually like a dream you experience it but when you wake up then you leave it behind. The gṛhasthas, they should want to have a Krsna conscious child. Śrīla Prabhupāda said that Śrīla Bhaktivinoda Ṭhākura was a gṛhastha. He begot a child like Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura. So Śrīla Prabhupāda said we need many such children. And he wanted all his gṛhastha devotees to be paramahaṁsas and have kṛṣṇa-bhaktas as their children. We can pray to the Deities for a Kṛṣṇa conscious, long lived, healthy suputra. Just having a child is not the goal. To have a Kṛṣṇa conscious healthy long lived suputra is better. There is also some Ekādaśī which is called Putradā Ekādaśī. People by observing that Ekādaśī, by doing nirjalā staying up the whole night, then they get a child.

Question: Can devotees donate organs or blood? Can they receive the same from non-devotees?

Jayapatākā Swami: You mean, why not? The Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam there was a brāhmaṇa, he was asked to give his bones. If you give all your bones, you will die! But he did it. Normally in their will, people say when I die, I will give my organs. I was on dialysis. I had cirrhosis of the liver. Couple died in a car accident. I have the liver and kidney from one of them I don’t know who. We believe we are the soul we are not the body. Once the soul leaves the body the body is dead. Then the body if it can be of any use for anyone, why not?

Thank you all very much! See you tomorrow!
