20210902 Homage to His Holiness Gopāla Kṛṣṇa Goswami Mahārāja

Following is a Homage to His Holiness Gopāla Kṛṣṇa Goswami Mahārāja by His Holiness Jayapatākā Swami Mahārāja via zoom on 02^nd September 2021, from Māyāpur Dhāma, India.

Jayapatākā Swami: Please accept My śraddhāñjali to Gopāla Kṛṣṇa Goswami Mahārāja. [3:10 – 3:12 not auditable]

He was very dedicated, he came to the temple, he would work outside, he came to the temple, he would chant his japa very devotionally in front of the each picture. So, I was very impressed by his devotion. Later he left office - material engagements and he came to India. He was the BBT’s Trustee. He was situated in western India eventually he became the GBC for Northern India and western India. And I was for Eastern India and Southern India. So this way, we had to cooperate with each other.

I am very impressed by his dedication, how he has spent so much time to cultivate the Government in Delhi. And several Prime Ministers have attended the programs in Delhi including the present Prime Minister, Narendra Modi. I think he was over three different programs in Delhi. The latest being the 125^th anniversary of Śrīla Prabhupāda.

So he is very dedicated to Śrīla Prabhupāda, and just as when he was in Montreal he was so serious about his japa, now we see that he worships the Deities every day and has śālagrāma-śilās, Nitāi Gaura, various Deities. Still, he comes and does maṅgala-ārati in the temple where he is staying. In this way, he is a pillar of Kṛṣṇa consciousness. We are very grateful for having his association.

In anyway I can help, we are always happy to do so. He took his sannyāsa-āśrama from me. I do hope that our connection will be eternally favorable. I just wanted to say a few words and I appreciate very much, he is a member of the MVT, a member of the Māyāpur Executive Board, MEB. So also, we are together in the BBT. So, in many different ways, we are working together. I appreciate very much his dedication.

Śrīla Prabhupāda told us, in Kolkata we should have ten temples, we haven’t reached that yet. But Gopāla Kṛṣṇa Goswami Mahārāja he has now 12 or 13 temples in the Delhi region. So, he is a great achiever! In Mumbai, not only in, Juhu, but in new Mumbai Mira Road, he expanded many temples. So I am very happy to have such a very strong godbrother. I hope that he will live for many decades to come. I just wanted to say these few words, and there is nothing that is sufficient to actually describe how dear he is to Śrīla Prabhupāda.
