20210831 Vyāsa-pūjā Offering to His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupāda

nāma oṁ viṣṇu-pādāya kṛṣṇa-preṣṭhāya bhū-tale
śrīmate bhaktivedānta-svāmin iti nāmine
namas te sārasvate deve gaura-vāṇī-pracāriṇe

nirviśeṣa-śūnyavādi-pāścātya-deśa-tāriṇe

Jayapatākā Swami: Śrīla Prabhupāda, I surrender at your lotus feet. You told me to travel, you also told me to stay in Mayapur. You said to work through my assistants. So, somehow or another, you have brought Krsna consciousness to 108 cities! And you have brought Krsna consciousness to every continent of the world. So your disciples and grand disciples have brought Krsna consciousness to every country, practically. Now, in many cities. We heard from Bhakti Purusottama Swami how it is also reaching the forests! We know from our Namahattas and Gita Course that we are reaching many villages. But you want to satisfy Lord Caitanya’s prediction, that in every town and village of the world, there will be the name of Lord Caitanya sung. So, we have a lot of work yet to do. And I thought the generations of devotees should engage in trying to fulfill the Gaura Vani that you have started. And in this way, the mercy of Lord Caitanya, Panca-tattva can be expanded over the whole world.

We were reading in the Caitanya-caritāmṛta, how the Panca-tattva are so happy when all the people are chanting Hare Krsna! When the whole world is flooded with love of Krsna! And then the seed of material enjoyment, because of the flood waters, is not sprouting. So, Lord Caitanya, the Panca-tattva, They are very happy to see people chanting Hare Krsna. You have brought this message all over the world.

And you said we should have thousands, tens of thousands, hundreds of thousands of gurus. In fact, eventually, millions and tens of millions. So you had the vision to see that the whole would become Krsna conscious. We heard from Harisauri prabhu, how you wanted to save the world! That the world would look back and say the Krsna consciousness moment of Srila AC Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada saved us! So, we should carry out your instructions – you had said that actually, you could take over the world in something like 18 days, if the devotees would follow your instructions. We are yet to follow all the instructions and pretty soon, your disciples will leave this world, we have lost already His Holiness Bhakti Caru Swami and many others. So the future generations have to carry on this movement. You have given your books which should be studied minutely, and for that reason you gave the Bhakti Sastri, Bhakti Vaibhava, Bhakti Vedanta and Bhakti Sarvabhauma, and so the devotees should dedicate themselves to studying your purports and then to take this knowledge and distribute it to everyone. If we please Krsna, we are part of Krsna and naturally we become happy. But unfortunately we are thinking we are the body, and that our senses will satisfy us. And in this way, we are not following your instructions. So please, benedict us so that we can follow.

Here in Mayapur, I remember that you were very kind, you would stay a month and a half, translate your books, and at the sunset, Jananivasa prabhu would go with his dhuna and fumigate your room and chant the Purusa Sukta, and then you would personally teach us how to treat the guests. And you personally would sit down with some VIPs and would have us distribute them prasadam. In so many ways - you would walk around, you would see, you wanted Mayapur to have a very clean environment. And, you made Mayapur as the World Head Quarters. Before this, I think Los Angeles in the 1970s before Mayapur was established, was the World Head Quarters. So you were teaching Srila Bhakti devi dasi how to do Deity worship, how to have six aratis a day, how to do mangala arati. So all these things were not in ISKCON. But you established, and so now we are doing so many things because YOU established. So in this way, now we have very nice standards throughout the world, and in this way the Krsna consciousness movement can expand, and is expanding. But we want to reach all the people in every town and village. Thank you for giving us this inspiration. I think you did the most important things, and you said that varnasrama was left. So what you did establishing bhakti, we don’t want to throw that out for the sake of varnasrama. But how we can establish Daiva varnasrama? That is an interesting question. Because many people have very different ideas of varnasrama. So this is something that we are still working on. And certainly protecting cows is an important aspect.

So I wanted to thank you for all the mercy you gave us in Mayapur, and I hope that the Mayapur community will grow and grow, and that we will be able to fulfill your dreams! Hare Krsna!
