Caitanya-bhāgavata Madhya-khaṇḍa 27.27

dharma bujhāite bāpa, tora avatāra
jananī chāḍibā e kon dharmera vicāra?

Jayapatākā Swami: My dear son, you incarnate to preach religious principles, but what kind of religious principle is it, to leave Your mother?

Caitanya-bhāgavata Madhya-khaṇḍa 27.28

tumi dharma-maya yadi jananī chāḍi
bāke-mate jagate tumi dharma bujhāibā?”

Jayapatākā Swami: You are the personification of religious principles. If You will leave Your mother, how will You teach religious principles in the world?

Purport by Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura: Śrī Gaurasundara was a preacher of religious principles and the personification of religious principles, so Śacīdevī wanted to know how He would protect religious principles by abandoning the service of His mother. This question came to the mouth of Mother Śacī for the purpose of teaching the Bhāgavata principle: sa vai puṁsāṁ paro dharmo—“The supreme occupation [dharma] for all humanity.” Service to the Supreme Lord is more important than temporary worldly dharmas.

Caitanya-bhāgavata Madhya-khaṇḍa 27.29

prema-śoke kahe śacī, śune viśvambhara
premete rodhita kaṇṭha, nā kare uttara

Jayapatākā Swami: Mother Śacī spoke with grief, with love and Lord Viśvambhara listened. His throat became choked with love, and He was unable to answer, He didn’t answer.

Caitanya-bhāgavata Madhya-khaṇḍa 27.30

“tomāra agraja āmā' chāḍiyā calilāvai
kuṇṭhe tomāra bāpa gamana karilā

Jayapatākā Swami: “Your elder brother has left Me and gone. Your father, he went to Vaikuṇṭha.”

Caitanya Maṅgala, Madhya-khaṇḍa 11.29

pitṛhīna putra tumi-dila dui vibhā
apatya santati kichu nā dekhila ihā

Jayapatākā Swami: You are a son without a father. I arranged for You two marriages. I still have not seen any progeny.

Caitanya Maṅgala, Madhya-khaṇḍa 11.30

taruṇa-vayase nahe sannyāsera dharma
gṛhastha-āśrame thāki sādha sara karma

Jayapatākā Swami: A young man is not meant to perform sannyāsa dharma, stay as a householder and perform Your religious duties.

Caitanya Maṅgala, Madhya-khaṇḍa 11.31

kāma krodha lobha moha yauvane prabala
sannyāsa kemane tora haibe saphala

Jayapatākā Swami: Lust, anger, greed and illusion are very strong during the youth, “How will You succeed in sannyāsa?”

Caitanya Maṅgala, Madhya-khaṇḍa 11.32

manera nivṛtti kalikāle nāhi haya
manera cāñcalye sannyāsera dharmakṣaya

Jayapatākā Swami:Controlling the mind, during this age of Kali, is not easy, A restless mind destroys the religious principle of sannyāsa.”

Caitanya Maṅgala, Madhya-khaṇḍa 11.33

gṛhi-jana manaḥpāpe nāhi haya baddha
sannyāsīra dharma yāya manojayaśuddha

Jayapatākā Swami: A householder’s mind is not accountable for sinful thoughts. But a sannyāsī’s religious principle is lost, by impure thoughts in the mind.

Caitanya-bhāgavata Madhya-khaṇḍa 27.31

tomā’ dekhi’ sakala santāpa pāsariluṅ
tumi gele prāṇa muñi sarvathā chāḍimu

Jayapatākā Swami: Yet, I forget all grief by looking at Your face, by looking at You. If You go, I will certainly give up my life.

So, mother Śacī, in the mood of vātsalya-prema, she was revealing her mind to Lord Viśvambhara, requesting Him to stay in the gṛhastha āśrama, and not to leave her, or His wife. So, this is the normal advice for gṛhastha men, and they could stay in the household and not give up the household life, unless they are older. But Lord Caitanya had His special purposes to fulfill. He is not an ordinary person, He is the Supreme Person. So, He will do what He wants to do, to fulfill His purposes.

Caitanya-bhāgavata Madhya-khaṇḍa 27.32

karuṇa bhāṭiyārī (rāga)—

prāṇera gaurāṅga hera bāpa,
anāthinī chāḍite nā yuyāya

Jayapatākā Swami: My dear son Gaurāṅga, You are my life, It is not proper for You to leave Your widowed mother.

Caitanya-bhāgavata Madhya-khaṇḍa 27.33

sabā’ lañā kara’ nija-aṅgane kīrtana,
nityānanda āchaye sahāya

Jayapatākā Swami: With Your devotees, perform kīrtana, congregational chanting, in Your own courtyard. Nityānanda is there to assist You.

Caitanya-bhāgavata Madhya-khaṇḍa 27.34

prema-maya dui āṅkhi, dīrgha dui bhuja dekhi,
vacanete amiyā variṣe

Jayapatākā Swami: I see Your two eyes filled with love, when I see Your two long arms, Your sweet words shower nectar.

vinā-dīpe ghara mora, tora aṅgete ujora,
rāṅgā pāye kata madhu variṣe”

Jayapatākā Swami: My house has no lamp, but the courtyard is illuminated by the effulgence of Your body. How much honey like nectar rains from Your reddish lotus feet.

Caitanya-bhāgavata Madhya-khaṇḍa 27.35

prema-śoke kahe śacī, viśvambhara śune vasi’,
(yena) raghunāthe kauśalyā bujhāya

Jayapatākā Swami: Mother Śacī became grief-stricken with love while speaking, Viśvambhara was listening, sitting. It appeared as if, Kausalyā was instructing Rāmacandra Raghunātha.

śrī-caitanya nityānanda, sukhadātā sadānanda,
vṛndāvana dāsa rasa gāya

Jayapatākā Swami: Śrī Caitanya and Lord Nityānanda, bestow transcendental happiness, and are always filled with ecstasy. Vṛndāvana dāsa Ṭhākura sings Their blissful mellows.

Caitanya-bhāgavata Madhya-khaṇḍa 27.36

ei-mata vilāpa karaye śacī-mātāmukha
tuli' ṭhākura nā kahe kona kathā

Jayapatākā Swami: As mother Śacī lamented, speaking in this way, the Lord neither raised His head nor spoke anything.

Caitanya-bhāgavata Madhya-khaṇḍa 27.37

vivarṇa hailāśacī-asthi-carma-sāra
śokākulā devī kichu nā kare āhāra

Jayapatākā Swami: Mother Śacī had become pale. She appeared like skin and bones. The goddess was overwhelmed by lamentation and did not eat anything.

Caitanya-bhāgavata Madhya-khaṇḍa 27.38

prabhu dekhi' jananīra jīvana nā rahe
nibhṛte vasiyā kichu gopya kathā kahe

Jayapatākā Swami: When Lord Gaurāṅga saw His mother would not survive, He took her to a solitary place, and spoke some confidential words to her.

Caitanya Maṅgala, Madhya-khaṇḍa 11.34

eteka vacana yadi śacīdevī baila
śuni prabodha-vāṇī māyere kahila

Jayapatākā Swami: Hearing Śacī devī speak these words, Lord Gaurāṅga spoke some pacifying words to His mother.

So, we see that mother Śacī, in the mood of vātsalya-rasa, extreme love for her son, she is thinking that she will not survive if He leaves. And Lord Gaurāṅga understanding this, He took mother Śacī and tried to pacify her. See, there are five principle rasās. The śānta, dāsya, sakya, vātsalya and mādurya-rasa. Neutral, servitude, friendship, parental and conjugal. So, mother Śacī was in this parental rasa and she is the avatāra of Devakī in Yaśodā. So when Krsna left Vṛndāvana, Yaśodā was constantly crying in separation for Kṛṣṇa. At least Yaśodā had Nanda Mahārāja. But mother Śacī had no one. So, if Lord Gaurāṅga left, she feared she would die. When Lord Nityānanda left Ekacakrā, Haḍāi Paṇḍita, he also died in separation. So, Lord Caitanya is saying something to His mother, which will save her life.
