The following is the reading from the new Śrī Kṛṣṇa Caitanya Book by His Holiness Jayapatākā Swami Mahārāja on 22nd July 2020 in Śrīdhāma Māyāpur, India.

mūkaṁ karoti vācālaṁ paṅguṁ laṅghayate girim
yat-kṛpā tam ahaṁ vande śrī-guruṁ dīna-tāraṇam
paramānandaṁ mādhavaṁ śrī caitanya iśvaram
hariḥ oṁ tat sat

Introduction: So today we continue - the drama had ended, the sun rose, and the devotees were lamenting, that they were experiencing so much ecstatic love - because of the sunrise, the drama ended. So, they were praying to Lord Caitanya. Actually, every avatāra has a particular mood. Like Lord Narasiṁhadeva is very angry. But also, He is Bhakta-vatsala. He is angry because His devotee was being abused. So, He came to protect Prahlāda. In the same way, Lord Caitanya is merciful, that is His main mood. But He is also Bhakta-vatsala. So, since the devotees were lamenting, He was thinking how to give His mercy to the devotees.

Caitanya Maṅgala Madhya-khaṇḍa 9.126

eikṣaṇe ekajana,                kahena ei vacana,
murārīke cāha dayā-diṭhi

Jayapatākā Swami: Then someone said, this request, “Please cast Your merciful glance on Murāri gupta.”

e tomāra nijadāsa,                e bola śuniñā hāsa
amiyā-adhika mahu miṭhi

Jayapatākā Swami: “Murāri Gupta is Your servant” When the Lord heard these words, He smiled, which was sweeter than nectar.

Caitanya Maṅgala Madhya-khaṇḍa 9.127

nayāna karuṇājale,                prema chalachala kare
karuṇa aruṇa mukhacandra

Jayapatākā Swami: Tears of love and mercy flowed from the Lord’s eyes. His moonlike face was red with mercy."

henakāle śacīdevī,                āpane śrīpādasevī,
premānande bhela paratantra

Jayapatākā Swami: At that time, Śacī-devī, overcome with ecstatic love, she worshipped the auspicious lotus feet of the Lord.

Caitanya Maṅgala, Madhya-khaṇḍa 9.128

mātā-putre yena haya,                 sneha anurāga ei mata
sabāre dilena putra-bhāva

Jayapatākā Swami: The love and affection that exists between a mother and a son, in this way Lord Gaurāṅga made all the people feel like a son, feeling like a son.

tabe sei kātyāyanī,                 sarvajana kāche āni,
nija suta kari hena mane

Jayapatākā Swami: In the mood of Kātyāyanī, Durgā, thinking of all the devotees as His children, He brought them close to Him.

Caitanya Maṅgala, Madhya-khaṇḍa 9.129

mātṛsneha kare loke,                 sarvajana dekhi’ tāke,
premajale bhare du-nayāne

Jayapatākā Swami: Being filled with motherly affection for all the people, when He looked at all the devotees, loving tears flowed from His two eyes.

henakāle seikṣaṇe,                  āsi’ eka brāhmaṇe,
prabhu bali’ ḍāki uccanāde

Jayapatākā Swami: At that moment, at that place, one brāhmaṇa arrived. He loudly called out, “Prabhu!”

ārttajana-ārtti dekhi’,                  chalachala kare āṁkhi,
bhaigela īśvara unmāde

Jayapatākā Swami: Seeing the suffering of all the distressed persons, tears flowing from His eyes, He became mad with grief. The Lord became mad with grief. So, it seems the Lord’s mercy combined with Bhakta-vatsala, cared for His devotees. Lord Gaurāṅga was extremely affected, by the suffering of the devotees.

Murāri Gupta Kaḍaca, 2.16.21: Then the Lord, who is known as the annihilator of the armies of the demons, gave breast milk to those most exalted of godly men. And as they gazed upon the Supreme Lord, whose beautiful eyes were filled with tender compassion, His associates felt joy.

Caitanya-Bhāgavata Madhya-khaṇḍa 18.203

mātṛ-bhāve viśvambhara sabāre dhariyāstana
pāna karāya parama snigdha haiyā

Jayapatākā Swami: Lord Viśvambhara, in the mood of the universal mother, He grabbed all the people and He gave His breast milk, being supremely affectionate to them

Caitanya-Bhāgavata Madhya-khaṇḍa 18.204

kamalā, pārvatī, dayā, mahā-nārāya
ṇīāpane hailā prabhu jagata-jananī

Jayapatākā Swami: The Lord in His form of the universal mother, assumed the form of Kamalā, Pārvatī, Dayā, and Mahā-Nārāyaṇī.

Lord Caitanya was displaying His pastimes of His different energies. And how the energy is always serving the Supreme Lord, Viṣṇu. The Supreme Lord Viṣṇu is never actually a servant. But since Lord Caitanya was acting as His energies, He was showing His mercy as an energy. But this is to make clear to us, that we should not approach Viṣṇu or Kṛṣṇa, for satisfying our material desires. Just as a small child is cared for by the mother, at that time the child is not able to reciprocate with the love of the mother. But actually, when the child grows up, he should want to serve his mother. But many times, the conditioned soul does not recognize how he was completely dependent on his mother’s affection. And now instead, he wants to be the master of sense gratification. So, in this way, Lord Caitanya, by showing the pastime of His energy, is showing how the energies are always dependent on Viṣṇu.

Caitanya-Bhāgavata Madhya-khaṇḍa 18.205

satya karilena prabhu āpanāra gītā
“āmi pitā, pitāmaha, āmi dhātā, mātā

Jayapatākā Swami: In the Bhagavad-gītā, Lord Kṛṣṇa has stated, that He is the father, the grandfather, the supporter, and the mother. So, by this pastime, He has proven that.

Purport (of Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura): The Supreme Lord is the Absolute Truth. There is an eternal relationship between the Supreme Lord and the living entities, who are His parts and parcels. The Supreme Lord is vibhu, or unlimited, and the aṇu, or limited, living entities, who are related to Him, are among His subordinate energies. The function of His illusory energy is to manipulate the Lord's various energies according to time, place, and circumstance. While confirming these topics, the Lord also established that even though the material designations of a living entity have no relationship with his svarūpa-lakṣaṇa, or original characteristics, they certainly have a relationship with his taṭastha-lakṣaṇa, or marginal characteristics.

Jayapatākā Swami: The jīvas are considered the marginal potency. The jīvas can serve the Lord, and be under the influence of the internal energy, or they can serve the material nature, and be under the control of the material energy.

Caitanya-Bhāgavata Madhya-khaṇḍa 18.206

tathāhi (gītā 9/17)
pitāma’masya jagato
mātā dhātā pitāmahaḥ

Jayapatākā Swami: “I am the father of this universe, the mother, the support, and the grandsire.” (Bhagavad-gītā 9.17)

Caitanya-Bhāgavata Madhya-khaṇḍa 18.207

bhāgyavanta puruṣerai stanyapāne adhikāra—
ānande vaiṣṇava-saba kare stana-pāna
koṭi koṭi janma yārā mahābhāgyavān

Jayapatākā Swami: For millions and millions of births, those most fortunate Vaiṣṇavas, blissfully drank milk from the Lord’s breast.

Caitanya-Bhāgavata Madhya-khaṇḍa 18.208

stanyapāne sakalera premamattatā—
stana-pāne sabāra viraha gela dūra
prema-rase sabe matta hailā pracura

Jayapatākā Swami: The separation that everyone was feeling, disappeared by taking the Lord’s breast milk, and they were greatly maddened in the mellows of ecstatic love, for sure.

Caitanya-Bhāgavata Madhya-khaṇḍa 18.209

gauralīlāra nityatva—
e saba līlāra kabhu avadhi nā haya
‘āvirbhāva, tirobhāva’ vede mātra kaya

Jayapatākā Swami: These transcendental pastimes have no end. In the Vedas, it is simply stated to be appearance and disappearance.

Murāri Gupta Kaḍaca 2.16.22: At that moment, Gaura's mood as the reservoir of all opulence and the Supreme Master arose once more. Perceiving this, those eminent twice-born men bowed down and offered praises with moistened eyes and enlivened hearts to the Lord of the cosmic manifestation.

Jayapatākā Swami: Lord Caitanya, He was manifesting the pastime of being His energy. But now He reverted to the consciousness of being the Mahāprabhu or Supreme Master. So, the Vaiṣṇavas were sensitive to this change in the Lord’s mood, suddenly began to bow down to Him and offer Him appropriate prayers.

Caitanya Maṅgala, Madhya-khaṇḍa 9.130

āpani īśvara hañā,                  nijaprema prakāśiñā,
nijaguṇe kare ṭhākurāla

Jayapatākā Swami: So, manifesting His mood as the controller, He distributed His own pure love. By His sweet will, by His own qualities, He established Himself as the Supreme Lord.

savajana beri beri,                  daṇḍaparaṇāma kari’,
dekhi’ īśvara-āveśa punarvāra

Jayapatākā Swami: Seeing that Lord Gaura had again manifested His mood as the Lord, all the devotees offered their obeisances, falling like a stick, they offered their prostrate obeisances.

Caitanya Maṅgala Madhya-khaṇḍa 9.131

ei mane saba niśe,                  goṅāiyā rasāveśe,
prabhāte calilā nijaghare

Jayapatākā Swami: So, in these nectarean pastimes, the night passed. Everyone remembered the transcendental, loving ecstasy that they experienced. At dawn, everyone returned to their homes.

yata jana saṅge yāya,                  dekhe yena gaurārāya,
kevala pracaṇḍa daṇḍa dhare

Jayapatākā Swami: Accompanied by His associates, was seen Lord Gaura, with a stout staff in His hand.

Caitanya-Bhāgavata Madhya-khaṇḍa 18.210

mahāprabhura etādṛśa abhinayera kāraṇa—
mahārāja-rājeśvara prabhu viśvambhara
ei raṅga karilena nadīyā-bhitara

Jayapatākā Swami: Lord Viśvambhara Mahāprabhu, the King of kings, performed these transcendental pastimes within Nadia.

Caitanya-Bhāgavata Madhya-khaṇḍa 18.211

nikhila brahmāṇḍe yata sthūla-sūkṣma āche
saba caitanyera rūpa—bheda kare pāche

Jayapatākā Swami: The subtle and gross elements in the entire universes, are actually forms of Lord Caitanya, difference should not be made later.

Purport (by Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura): The gross and subtle ingredients that have, according to their various qualities, manifested in this material world, which is a transformation of the external energy, are regarded as the variegatedness of the primary and secondary energies of consciousness. There is a difference between pastimes and activities. In the different concepts of temporary time and eternal time, various material and spiritual energies are situated. These energies are directly and indirectly related to individuals under particular circumstances.

Jayapatākā Swami: Activities or karmas are performed by the conditioned souls, and they have to suffer or enjoy the reactions. The pastimes of the Lord are transcendental, and He is not subject to any reactions. By His sweet will, He creates; by His will, He annihilates, all the unlimited millions of universes, He creates, as one of His pastimes.

Caitanya-Bhāgavata Madhya-khaṇḍa 18.213

icchā-maya maheśvara icchā-kāca kāce
tāna icchā nāhi kare, hena kon āche?

Jayapatākā Swami: The Supreme Personality of Godhead is fully independent in His desires. And everything acts according to His desires. He appears in whatever form He wants to, who does not operate according to His will?

Caitanya-Bhāgavata Madhya-khaṇḍa 18.214

tathāpi tāṅhāra kāca—sakali susatya
jīva tāribāra lāgi’ e saba mahattva

Jayapatākā Swami: Nevertheless, all the various forms of the Lord are all the supreme truth. He manifests such glorious forms to deliver the living entities.

Caitanya-Bhāgavata Madhya-khaṇḍa 18.215

bhāgyahīnera dṛṣṭite viṣaya-igrahera āśrayocita līlā bhrānti-ānayanakāriṇī
ihā nā bujhiyā kona kona pāpī janā
prabhure balaye ‘gopī’ khāiyā āpanā

Jayapatākā Swami: Not understanding these glories of the Lord, some rare, sinful persons, ruin themselves calling Lord Gaurāṅga as a gopī.

Purport (by Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura): “The Supreme Lord is the object of worship. If He is considered in the category of āśraya-vigraha, or devotee, and described as a gopī, the Lord would then be relegated to merely an energy rather than the energetic. The Māyāvādīs and nondevotees cannot understand Lord Gaurasundara as the source of all viṣṇu-tattvas. The exhibition of pastimes appropriate to an āśraya by the viṣaya-vigraha, or shelter of all devotees, impedes unfortunate persons' realization of the truth.

Jayapatākā Swami: Since Lord Caitanya is Kṛṣṇa Himself, although He is sometimes manifesting the pastimes of His energy, in order to do some research on this confidential topics, on this confidential topics, He still always remains the Lord. It is just that the Lord, He can do anything He wants, if He wants to take the mood of a devotee, He can do that, but He doesn’t become a devotee. He is always the Lord. If people misunderstand the actual position of Lord Gaura, then they don’t understand the confidential aspects of these pastimes.

Thus, ends the chapter, Gaurasundara Proves the Statement of Bhagavad-gītā by Breast feeding.

Since in the Bhagavad-gītā, the Lord said He was the mother, father, grandfather, mother, so He has established that, by manifesting this pastime. Hare Kṛṣṇa!
