(translator RJ:) How to neutralize the offences we have committed to those

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: Acha! The second part

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: How to neutralize offences

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: Of course now-a-days you can ask a person by phone, fax, email

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: for forgiveness

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: But if a person just not at all available

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: Then you can sincerely pray to Kṛṣṇa that you can be forgiven for this offence that you repent for any offence you made

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: And continue to chant Hare Kṛṣṇa all the time

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: And by chanting the holy names eventually one can get forgiven for offences.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: Of course you can directly somehow get the dust from that person’s feet then we can get forgiven immediately.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: So thank you for these spiritually very high level questions.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: Dealing with the behaviour of devotees.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: Hare Kṛṣṇa!

(devotee:) Question

(translator RJ:) She says, recently joined us in this broadcast of Kṛṣṇaloka Radio station and then she is most fond of the music, her name is Ena. She understands that the main progress of our life is to come back of Godhead, isn’t it. So here question is does is mean if a person is pious, it doesn’t matter in which way does he return or comes, does he come back home back to Godhead? And what is your attitude towards other religious traditions like Buddhism and Christianity? Do you think for example christianity to be a misleading teaching or it is a bonafide teaching that leads us back to Godhead?

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami:

(aside:) Ena, thank you for your, spasiba! We hope you keep listening to this wonderful radio show.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: And chant Hare Kṛṣṇa and be happy

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: So the question about going back to Godhead is a very wonderful question

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: Definitely to go back to Godhead and to develop love for God, these are the goals of human life.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: They are mentioned in the Bhagavad Gita and the vedic literatures as a goal of life, goals of life.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: Kṛṣṇa says, ‘whoever comes back to My spiritual abode doesn’t come again to the material world’

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: In the spiritual world there is no birth, no death, no old age, no disease

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: There everyone is engaged in loving service of the Lord.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: Everyone is conscious of God.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: And everything is alive and dynamic.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: So that abode is beyond the material worlds.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: And the only way we can reach that abode is through devotional service to the Lord.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: We have to actually develop a desire to want to know and love Kṛṣṇa or God and to be with Him and to serve Him.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: Lord Jesus he also said that we should love the Lord, our father with our heart, all our soul and mind.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: Islam also teaches that we should surrender to God.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: And in the holy Quran it also mentions that loving Allah is the perfection of life.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: So we see that basically the goal of all religions is the same or similar.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: Now in the vedas, it explains that pious activity is different from direct devotional service to God.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: A pious activity is a good karma.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: which produces good material results.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: You give charity

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: You feed the poor

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: You plant trees for the public

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: Different types of pious activities are there which are meeting basing and helping other people’s existence.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: The result of pious activity is a good birth.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: A beautiful body

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: good education

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: money

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: things like that

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: People who don’t do pious activity

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: who do impious activities

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: Activities which harm others

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: violence

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: theft

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: and so on

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: They get, the result for that is the absence of the good results.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: In other words, you get the opposite of good results

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: Instead of good health you get bad health

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: So to the beautiful body you get ugly body

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: or crippled body

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: instead of the healthy body you get a sick body

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: instead of a good education you get no education or poor education

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: instead of a very favourable birth from aristocratic parents, you may get more ordinary birth or unfortunate birth in difficult situations.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: So this is the laws of pyramid that cause us to take different kinds of birth according to our activities.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: And in the vedas they say, there’s also a higher dimension of the universe called heaven.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: Where people with many pious activities go and enjoy very healthy bodies and very happy times.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: But eventually they fall down from that

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: And again they have to take birth on this plane

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: So Lord Caitanya said sometime we take a birth in the universe which is very happy birth, sometime a very hellish birth.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: What is the value of that?

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: We’re just going up and down, up and down.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: So, actually Kṛṣṇa consciousness might look like pious activity.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: But Kṛṣṇa consciousness is actually yoga for developing this pure love of Godhead which is the goal of all religions.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: To practice Kṛṣṇa consciousness one doesn't have to change their religion.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: Person can be a christian or a muslim and still practice Kṛṣṇa consciousness.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: We have buddhists.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: So in this way Kṛṣṇa consciousness is, techniques can be used by anyone if they like.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: How to develop love for Godhead? That is the difficulty. Everyone says develop it, but how to do that?

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: We need to know about God

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: We need to appreciate His great qualities.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: We need to direct our energy to Him, not just to do pious activities, we need to direct the energy to Him through devotional acts.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: In this way we get purified from our material attachments

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: From our bad habits.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: And we become very fixed in spiritual life.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: And we start to develop the taste, a very sweet taste for the beauty and wonderfulness of serving Kṛṣṇa.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: We start to see God in everything, in everyone

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: We can appreciate how everyone is a part of God.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: And then we feel naturally we are compassionate love for all living entities.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: We don’t want to cause harm on any living entity

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: And we wish the upliftment of all.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: In this way we become attached to serving Kṛṣṇa.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: And that attachment is deepening our relationship.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: And I said, attachment further deepens.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: Finally it becomes ecstatic love for Kṛṣṇa.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: And we start feeling, our hairs stand on end in ecstasy.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: Tears fall from our eyes.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: Tears of love

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: Sometimes we feel so much joy in chanting the Lord’s names that we can’t help but laugh in ecstasy.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: Like this there are 8 different ecstatic symptoms said. Automatically and naturally appear in the body when one reaches the level of ecstatic love for Godhead.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: So these are the result of devotional service.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: And when one is so much in love with Kṛṣṇa then naturally at the time of death all the devotee can think about is to go back to God.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: Then they don’t go to a better birth, they go beyond birth and death to the spiritual worlds.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: We leave behind these mortal bodies and achieve a spiritual form.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: So this is a basic difference between Kṛṣṇa consciousness goal and just pious activities.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: In the vedas it also talks about pious activities and their many results.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: But this Kṛṣṇa conscious considered the, the final step before the Supreme liberation from all material bondage.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: As far as other religions

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: To the extent that any religion can deliver one to pure love for Godhead, we respect that.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: Religion is laws and spiritual guidance given by God through some representatives.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: And given at different times and places and circumstances for the particular people of those areas.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: So we respect the truth that exists in all religions

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: But naturally we look through the eyes of the vedic scriptures.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: There we can see how there are common relationships in many common preachings. So it’s easy for us to understand this.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: Recently in Calcutta in July, on January 12th there was the second World Congress for the Synthesis of Science and Religion.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: The Dalai Lama was supposed to come to inaugurate but he suddenly had a, was not, had to decline because of some other problem he was facing.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: One of the Ayatollahs from Iran was a distinguished guest speaker.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: They were representatives from the Jewish faith and great fellowgens from christian faith.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: And then that was on the religion, and of course there were representatives from the Hare Kṛṣṇa.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: Then there were also many scientists

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: from all over the world

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: including one Nobel guys Lorette Physics.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: Dr. Thomas

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: who discovered the laser

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: So in this way we are trying to see how to synthesize religion and science to make a better world.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: We are very open for interfaith dialogue and for greater understanding amongst religions as well as with scientists.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: The Bhaktivedanta Institute had that big congress and they are all scientists, so they were able to discuss on the scientific issues.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: I was speaking there on behalf of the vedic tradition

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: And the retired assistant secretary general of the United Nations, he spoke there about the ecology and about peace in the world.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: So he also requested all the religions should try to get together so that no wars are fought in the world on the basis of religion.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: Srila A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada wanted that all theologists, all theists should unite together to create a better world.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: Hare Kṛṣṇa!

(devotee:) Question:

(translator RJ:) He has two questions and he wants to receive qualified answers to these two questions. That is his one problem, I thought spiritual masters of ISKCON speak, Kṛṣṇa about demoniac and Godly qualities manifest in one person now in this age. And I seem to suffer from this problem, I feel simultaneously a feeling of love and envy and envy towards God. I can’t understand where these feelings come from and what is the source of these. Could you kindly tell me how to get rid of these. My second question is I, for long time, devotees say that this mysticism story increase one’s spiritual, so I wanted to ask whether it is possible to make progress in devotional service on the spiritual way and the same time developing powers by means of bhakti yoga.

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: What kind of mystic powers do you want?

(devotee:) Question:

(translator RJ:) For example transportation in spiritual world or some other world. I read hoptic and Jewish book on mysticism because, so I do not know exactly what?

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: Spasiba!

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami:

(aside:) If everyone is asking two questions it takes twice as  long to answer.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami:

(aside:) I think we have many people calling in.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami:

(aside:) So rather we put to ask one question and somebody else get a chance too.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: Well, very grateful for this call from our christian friend

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: Actually I am very sad to hear that he’s facing these conflicting feelings towards God.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: Many times we feel bad about God because we don’t know enough about Him.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: My mother is also a christian

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: And she has read the Bhagavad Gita several times

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: And she found that it gave her a much deeper understanding now by reading Bhagavad Gita of what a Bible means.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: Everything starts to make sense to her.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: Many times we blame God for things which are not really His fault.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: That they do to our own activities and the reactions of our karmas.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: In the Bhagavad Gita Kṛṣṇa says, although He creates the worlds

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: And although He is the Lord of the worlds

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: But He doesn’t, He lets the world go on according to the laws of nature.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: Even means, aloof

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: At the same time if He wants to, He can intervene.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: And sometimes He does for His devotees.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: So many other sufferings that people are doing it’s, it’s not directly Kṛṣṇa's fault, but it’s that He’s allowing us to get the reactions that, to the activities we have done in the past.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: And Kṛṣṇa who is, we call God the father Kṛṣṇa. So when I say Kṛṣṇa you just think of God the father.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: And because Kṛṣṇa says that I’m the seed giving father of all living entities and everything is coming from Me.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: So Kṛṣṇa doesn’t want us to suffer

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: Therefore he comes here himself sometimes to give us spiritual knowledge like the Bhagavad Gita

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: Or He send His own son

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: Like Jesus Christ

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: Well He sends different spiritual masters and representatives

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: to guide people on the correct path

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: Everyone should have a personal spiritual master to help them in their spiritual life.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: And develop a disciple relationship with the spiritual master.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: Now regarding this both divine and demoniac nature that are within us that are fighting with each other to be supreme.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: The way we can overcome that is by sacrifice.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: By purification

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: God is all good.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: Absence of God is bad

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: That means we are partially we are conscious of God and partially we’re not conscious, and that’s allowing the darkness to come in.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: There is a saying in the vedas, vedic literatures

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami:

kṛṣṇa-sūrya-sama; māyā haya andhakāra

yāhāṅ kṛṣṇa, tāhāṅ nāhi māyāra adhikāra

That Kṛṣṇa is like the sun

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: In other words God is like the sun.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: Maya or material illusion is like the darkness

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: Wherever there is Kṛṣṇa

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: or God consciousness

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: there’s no darkness

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: there’s no maya, no illusion

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: So in other words in order to free ourself from demonic influence we have to add more God consciousness in our life.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: Just like cleanliness is the absence of dirt

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: Everyday we bathe our body

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: that’s how we stay clean

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: but how do we clean the consciousness?

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: Demoniac thoughts, envious thoughts against God, thoughts which are envious against other parts of God, living entities

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: these are like dirt

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: that are coming on our pure consciousness

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: So how to cleanse this dirt away?

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: Lord Caitanya tells us

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: If we chant the names of God

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: This is, cleanses away the dirt of the consciousness.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: If you took the consciousness to be like a mirror that’s reflecting our thoughts and our feelings and our spiritual aspirations

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: but that mirror has become covered with some thick dust

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: we cannot see anything clearly

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: everything is distorted and dim

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: what will we do?

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: we’d wipe off the dust

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: and see things as they are.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: see things purely and clearly

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: So how to cleanse off that dust from the consciousness?

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: Is chanting the holy names of God

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: Those names have this ability to counteract the dirts of demonic influence.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: We recommend the sanskrit names of God

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: Hare Kṛṣṇa Hare Kṛṣṇa Kṛṣṇa Kṛṣṇa Hare Hare / Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare. However, if you have more faith in names in another language

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: If you want to chant them in Russian or in Arabic or in Hebrew

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: Then you can chant them in any language you like. If they are bonafide names of God they will have some effect.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: I know one nun, she was chanting the name Jesu Christo Jesu Christo, Christo Christo Jesu Jesu. That’s up to you can try, you can try chanting the names of any names of God and see how that will help to counteract this demoniac influence. We pray for you, we want you to overcome this.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: You should understand that Kṛṣṇa, God is your well-wisher.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: He’s your best friend

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: Bhagavad Gita explains

bhoktāraṁ yajña-tapasāṁ

sarva-loka-maheśvaram

suhṛdaṁ sarva-bhūtānāṁ

jñātvā māṁ śāntim ṛcchati

That when you understand that I’m the Lord of all the universes

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: I am the one who’s receiving all the prayers and all the religious offerings of all the religions.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: I am the friend of all living entities

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: suhṛdaṁ sarva-bhūtānāṁ, when you know Me in truth

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: you will achieve peace.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: Hare Kṛṣṇa!

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: Spaciba! Accept my wishes.

(devotee:) Question

(translator RJ:) Why didn’t Arjuna see any ethical or etiquette difference both between himself and Kṛṣṇa. Why wasn’t, why was he seen sometimes to be lying on the same bed which Kṛṣṇa with his leg on the Kṛṣṇa’s chest, by Narada Muni? That’s her question.

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami:

(aside:) What’s your good name?

(devotee:) Radha Rani

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: Radha Rani! Wow what a beautiful name?

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: So that’s, it’s a very esoteric question

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: Normally we think of God as someone far above us in the spiritual world on the big throne.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: And that’s one aspect of God.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: That is Lord Kṛṣṇa’s expansion Narayana

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: He’s not different from Kṛṣṇa

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: But the Supreme Lord, He’s not limited person

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: Sometimes He wants to come and show that He can also be very personal, loving and caring.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: He told Arjuna that you have taken many births and I have appeared in this world many times but I never forget, but you do.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: So actually Arjuna was the cousin brother of Kṛṣṇa

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: Cousin brother

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: Like Kṛṣṇa’s aunty was Arjuna’s mother

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: or Kṛṣṇa’s uncle was Arjuna’s father.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: So they are cousins

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: Sometimes we call cousin this cousin brothers

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: In vedic culture it’s a very close relation to be a cousin

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: Very similar to brothers

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: So some devotees are so special that Kṛṣṇa keeps it hidden from them that He is God.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: He has a illusory potency called Yoga Maya

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: Which allows devotees just to love Kṛṣṇa as He is without remembering His position.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: Here is something very interesting

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: All the rich people in the worlds they must always wonder whether their spouse loves them or loves their money!

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: But for Kṛṣṇa. He doesn’t want this position to come underway of His loving dealings with His dearmost devotees.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: So for some devotees who are having this very intimate relationship, they don’t remember that Kṛṣṇa is God.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: And this is very confusing for theists and philosophers to understand.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: In the Bhagavad Gita this was revealed by Arjuna that he was doing these things.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: At what point? remember?

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: It was in the chapter 11, The Universal Form

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: Kṛṣṇa was accepted by Arjuna as a guru.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: Kṛṣṇa said now, Arjuna said, now I am your disciple. I want you to instruct me what I should do, what I shouldn’t do. No more friendly talks, now You guide me, I’m bewildered.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: So then Kṛṣṇa changed His mood from a friend to a Guru and was instructing him on the Absolute truth.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: Then Kṛṣṇa told Arjuna, actually I am God.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: I am the Supreme controller.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: I have just come down here in order to protect My devotees and to take away the miscreants and the demonic influences of the world.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: Well Arjuna said, I may believe You, I mean I believe You.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: But maybe others won’t believe You

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: Could You show me Your universal form by which You are manifesting all the universes and within Your fraction of Your potency.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: And then Kṛṣṇa revealed His universal form with so much force and potency.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: Arjuna became frightened.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: Then he said that, sometimes I just treated you as my brother

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: as my friend

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: and we are lounging together, lounging

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: Will you forgive me for any offence I may have made.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: Because now he was realizing Kṛṣṇa’s real position.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: So that’s why Arjuna expressed all those things and that’s why he didn’t understand it before because he was under that spiritual pastime potency called Yoga Maya.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: When we go back to the spiritual world

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: and we take up some loving service with God.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: Then that pastime potency of Yoga Maya helps us to integrate in Kṛṣṇa’s pastimes.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: So these are very esoteric topics

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: If you read the Kṛṣṇa book or the book called Teachings of Lord Caitanya some of these things are explained.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: The science of God realization is something very deep and profound.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: And they are revealed in the west by His Divine Grace A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: Hare Kṛṣṇa!

(devotee:) Question:

(translator RJ:) If you find this question to be confusing one you may, may decide not to answer to it but I want like you to speak brief about yourself, to describe your life. About that incident that happened in Spain way back, information in Varsha, may be if you find it conflicting, you may decide not to speak about it at all. Every representative of Kṛṣṇa, of God slashed want to carry out his own duty, he own mission in spite of all the difficulties he faces. And the incident have happened in Spain seems to be good example of this, muslims attempt to kill you there.

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: Greetings, best wishes.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: Hare Kṛṣṇa! No, I have personally always had very good relations with muslims.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: And great respect for the Holy Quran

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: That was, there was a incident in Spain but I was, some crazy man attacked me in the airport.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: He was put in a synod sailam.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: He was feeling bad against all religions and somehow he took me as some, want to take out his anger.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: It was a great miracle of God that I was saved from such a serious danger.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: And given more time to serve Lord Kṛṣṇa in this, in this body.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: To we feel shy to talk about ourselves

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: You could find out from my disciples more details.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: I am here to talk, answer questions about philosophy, about Kṛṣṇa, doubts that people might have.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: But I appreciate your concern about me and your appreciation for everything.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: So I have been asked to keep all the questions very short so that many people can take advantage of this over time period.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: Spasiba! Hare Kṛṣṇa!

(devotee:) Question:

(translator RJ:) My name is Richeslov, I’m calling from Moscow. My question is like follows, is there such a relationship between the piety, the level of piety of a person and the number of demons he is surrounded by? Meaning, he means that, the more pious a person is, the more demons surround him or trying to tap him?

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: Is that all Richeslov?

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

(devotee:) Ya!

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: Spasiba! Hare Kṛṣṇa!

(devotee:) Spasiba Maharaj! Hare Kṛṣṇa!

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: Well when one is godly

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: Then one becomes aware of the conflicting qualities of people.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami:  We can see that good qualities and bad qualities, demoniac qualities in people around us.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: But Prabhupada said we shouldn’t hate a person even if they have bad qualities.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: We should consider those like a disease

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: We don’t hate somebody because they have a disease.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: We hate the disease

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: We want to cure the disease

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: So the thing is to become more spiritually strong through Kṛṣṇa consciousness. So you can also help the people around you overcome the influence of demoniac qualities.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: When one is starting out in spiritual life and trying to leave the material world process, influences then sometimes one is put to various tests.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: The material illusory energy doesn’t want to lose a convict.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: But if one can crossover these tests then one can achieve full liberation.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: One can achieve the full shelter of Lord Kṛṣṇa.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: Ultimately for the devotee they find that the material world is not a suitable place to reside permanently.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: And if people know that someone’s godly then materialistic people think that they can keep them easier.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: So some great saintly people sometimes hid the godliness from the world just to keep away such people who want to try to exploit godly people.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: But the real devotees recognize them as saintly people because of the, those only they reveal to their very intimate associates.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: So Richeslov, we wish you the best of good fortune in your path back home back to Godhead to Kṛṣṇaloka.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: Sometime if you give a little bit of Kṛṣṇa prasadam cookies or food to some of the friends around you see that their qualities would become a little more mellowed out.

(translator RJ:) Russian translation

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami: Hare Kṛṣṇa!
