Title:

The lord, being the controller of all kinds of wonderful energies that is mentioned in the Śvetāśvatara Upanishad, “Parāsya Śaktir Vividhaiva Śrūyate” these different energies, they act just according to the will of the lord, the Lord wants to experience drinking, eating.

In order to do that the mouth was created; tongue is generated and then that requires that some taste have to be there, the taste, so those are generated and also the controlling deity of these elements generates. Everything that’s needed comes automatically.

Just like somebody wants to have a factory decides I want to make rubber balls (not clear. Car), in order to do that,(not clear) maybe there is something (not clear), he decides he wants to make something but then in order to do that you require factory, the marketing, the advertising, you require [not clear(coughing)] the executives, (not clear), the workers, the fabricators, the electrical connections.

So many things you need. (not clear) ok let’s make a factory (not clear) but then after that then once they make the decision to do it and all these other things come automatically.

So, Kṛṣṇa wants through the virat purusha, he wants to experience a particular perception

automatically everything that’s needed is created at the same time. So, in every material thing there is these three aspects; Adhi ātmā, adibhuta and adidaiva.

Adidaiva is the controlling deity over the functions to see that the things go properly.

The adibhuta is the actual material elements that’s (not clear) different from the self that

required in order to have the function happen, in this case it was the senses and the adhi ātmā is the entity to whom it’s (not clear) to whom it happening.

So adhi ātmā, bhuta and daiva.

In this way the creation happens in a very automatic, in a very developed way, in a very systematic way one thing after another but simply by the desire of the Lord. In the spiritual world there is the sensual perception on a higher level. So, to create the material world then some form of sense perception is needed in the material world so then all the different requirements for that they are automatically generated.

So, this is the primary creation, Mahā Viṣṇu that’s the primary creation, sense organs are required, sense perception. These all things are required in order to have the secondary creation done by Lord Brahma after you have all the basic elements and you have all the

basic elements ingredients in the universe then you can create the bodies.

So, here in this chapter you know one after another how different senses have developed. There is a different system for the evolution not the certain of the way Darwin or others have thought the things are evolving from matter. Rather things are (not clear) revolving. The Lord who has got transcendental senses he wants to recreate a kind of virtual reality or virtual replica in material nature.

So, the living entities can imitate what’s going on in the material bodies. so then sense perception are needed so how to make that automatically these things get designed and developed from through his energies and he simply act, ok, let there be some taste, let there be some smelling, (not clear) seeing and hearing and touching and so all the things that are needed in order to have that.

In order to taste you have to have liquid, you know liquids, you can taste. so then over liquids you have a presiding deity of liquids. To smell you need the solids need to generate…generate, to feel you need air and to see you need light. So, actually it makes a lot of (not clear…. difference) otherwise why would you need light, we need light to be able to see. In the spiritual world they don’t have material light, they have another way of seeing which is inconceivable to us in this world. They are able to see but being in this world where (not clear…. we need a) some means of seeing then need some means of

illumination.

So, since everything is coming as a reflection of the spiritual world whatever is existing in the spiritual world in a pure (not clear) manner then here replica in the material nature kind of duplication or virtual copy is imitation copies are made to replicate the primary functions that exists in the spiritual world to sense perception is existing in the spiritual plane.

So, in order to have a full material life then you will also have to have sense perception because Kṛṣṇa has got transcendental senses so that makes a human.

Even the Bible says man is made in the image of God, what does that mean?

Here we can actually see the virāṭ rūpa as the form of the lord who has got all the transcendental senses and he wants to manifest the things, virāṭ rūpa is having sum total of all material senses. So, the supreme lord has got his different functions.

So, then this had to be manifested in the material world to replicate, but these perceptions, they are very superficial, they are affecting the body, but the ātmā is identifying with the body so therefore the ātmā considers that these perceptions are real, this is the nature of

the ātmā to have perception. It’s not that perception wasn’t there in the soul before.

Perception was there. Just like we’re able to see when the eyes are, (not clear…. put on) look through a telescope, so we can see through the telescope.

If we look through the video camera, we can see that perception is already there we can look through the eyes or through the eyes and we can look through some other instruments because the (not clear…. facility) the capacity is already there so simply what’s happening is that it’s being interfaced with the material body, to the false ego ; now instead of seeing things through our spiritual senses, we are seeing things through the senses provided by this body.

Therefore, the illusion is very powerful and one do this and think this is myself, this is me, especially all the animals ; all living entities, they don’t have, that’s why you can’t tell a dog or cat that you are not the body but the human being is considered the most developed of the living entities, the 400,000.

So, that in human form of life we can actually realize that we are not this body but we are actually divine force, divine person, part of the supreme person. so here the actual nature of existence is clearly explained in the Bhagavatam, there is a kind of an evolution; it’s very interesting, I mean, if people don’t hear this message from Bhagavatam, they never be able to really understand how it happens.

Just like you have people like Darwin who come up with new theories; they see well this very similarity in the design of the different bodies, they all have mouth, they all have ears, they all have eyes.

So, one must have developed from the other but then he sees a peacock ; he says whenever I see a peacock, I get sick in my study because his speculation of natural selection doesn’t explain how a bird would have such a beautiful feather. it’s not required for its survival (not clear…camouflage) the bird doesn’t form any useful purpose of survival, that they are all speculation (not clear) something that is very beautiful its worth functional but by accident, that the molecule bounce against each other, somehow, they come up with some accidental form like this peacock feather, so ridiculous, something that artistic, that intricate, just they can’t come about by accident.

So even though he is bewildered maya prakrithi gyana by the material energy still if you are not intelligent to figure out this one doesn’t fit in to my theory that’s why he get sick so what they do [Not Clear – 00:16:05] they try to forget about it, (not clear) let’s just try to forget about this one, they believe it doesn’t exist so they keep doing that so many times but if they take it from the other perspective that why there is similarities in all the bodies, it’s very easy, with a common design.

It is like when we see the (not clear) they all got a similarity in their design, you know, same design theme although every year they change a little bit, but you know still you can figure (not clear)

But since Kṛṣṇa is designing everything through his expansions; energies, so naturally there is going to be design similarities just light variations of each other to fit the certain

consciousness of living entities, one living entity wants to crawl little faster ; do something little better so this kind of caterpillar, ok, it’s got a little developed desire, the next step up.

This is the evolution of consciousness as the soul transmigrates from one body to the next, so, the different degree of relations of material experience are presented in the 8,400,000 species but the actual, it’s not (involved……not clear) in the sense of that this happens just from matter, it’s actually, happening from the spirit, the spirit wants to experience these things through the material body, the supreme Lord then provides the different bodies.so they can do it.

The ātmā is flying from one body to the next, according to the desires of what they want to experience, or what their karmas are.

Prabhupad explains how some Lizards are there, they want to fly, some snakes are there want (not clear….) by next birth they can take birth as a bird although there are even some flying Lizards and flying fish, you can imagine how the desires (not clear become a vow).

One-time Prabhupad was in Māyāpur looking at all these different bugs (not clear) in October or September. that’s the year, right after the rainy season when things start to dry up, there is unlimited bugs which generate, so many bugs and Prabhupad had a string of light up in the building, we just put up the lights and so many bugs coming. In the

morning we find about 1-foot high bugs under the light.

So, Prabhupad was looking at some of these bugs and he was saying, just think what kind of desire they had in order to get this body. (not clear) we get the body according to our desires, that some living entity have such a desire to get that kind of body…just wanted to enjoy and there is some kind of ….. they call as a love bug, they just get stuck together for, I don’t know,1/3 of their life (not clear mashed up on everything) and then may be someone just had the desire, wanted to be stuck together and having sex for 1/3 of their life and then so they can become love bugs, it’s such (not clear)

it’s really heard (not clear……experiencing but).

According to the Bhagavatam all the different entities have got the same kind of

perceptions in their own limited way.

Rishavdev says that even the stool eater, dogs and the pigs, they are also having the same material happiness, eating, sleeping, sex life and defending.

So, in their own ways they are also experiencing from their senses, some senses may

be more developed then the other in different species. So, the devas they are able to see how the ……they are able to control certain elements and see that see how all these things work on a higher level, but ultimately, they are all under the control of the Lord,

sometimes they forget that and they think that they are actually independent, I think I told the story once how all the different Devas Came and Viṣṇu took the form of a rishi (not clear).

Devas had fought a big battle with the demons, they were all victorious and then the devas were very proud of their victory and viṣṇu was seeing that they don’t understand how all the potency comes from me.

So, then Viṣṇu decided to give them his mercy and he took the form of a Rishi and sat in meditation, started to illuminate some effulgence, Indra, Agni and Vayudev were there discussing and then some other Devas and Indra saw this Rishi, said who is that, how did the Rishi get here in heavenly planet?

Who is that Rishi?

So, he sent

Vayudev, you go find out that Rishi, (not clear…. come back n tell us). So, then the Lord appeared, he goes and approaches that Rishi, yogi meditating and Rishi opens his eyes and sees Vayudev and says who are you?

Vayudev said I am lord Vayudev, what you do?

So, I am the lord of all the air.so, what power you have?

I can make things blow and move the air, so then he put down a piece of straw, can you

move it? Sure. Move it.

[Gurudev makes the sound of blowing air]

He puts so much……. like hurricanes, all these are falling but that little straw didn’t move. Still didn’t move (not clear) ……how much air he put on ….. vayudev picked up (not clear) came back to Indra even.

Indra said who was that?

So, I don’t know, didn’t ask him?  I forgot ask him.

Why you forgot to ask? What kind of (not clear) I could not think, Agnidev you go and find out who is that Rishi. (not clear)

Anyway, so then agnidev, he went and Rishi asked him, who are

you?

He said I am Agnidev.

Agnidev, what’s your power?

I can burn

anything, controlling all the heat, see that straw there, can you burn

that?

Ah! Sure, I can burn that, let me see your power.

Stones are melting around, doesn’t burn, (not clear) he goes back ; Indra says

who is that? I don’t know who that was [devotees- laughter] what do you mean you don’t know who that was, why don’t you find out? [Not Clear – 00:24:09] what do you mean?

I am goanna go ; find out who that is, you know, you are all useless, he goes over, once he gets there, the rishi is gone, there was an apsara, Urvashi, who was flying by ; he says where’s the rishi, there was a rishi a little while ago, where is he? Who was that rishi? You don’t know who that rishi was? Nah I don’t know. where is he?

That rishi was Lord Viṣṇu, he had come in this form because all you devas were so proud that you are thinking that your powers are independent, forget that all your powers are simply coming from the supreme personality of godhead, immediately Lord Indra felt very ashamed, and (not clear) down what happened.

So, although these Devas have got certain powers, might be not so clear to us why it’s a need for Devas, like you make a machine, perfect machine, automatic, why you need an operator?

You need an operator, sometimes something happens, you know, you have been working in a printing press even though it’s all made, there is a paper jams up, something happen the ink gets stuck you need a operator in spite of however nice you make your machine,

you make a perfect computer but something always (not clear) up and you have to fix it.

So somehow you might make these different elements but you need someone, (not clear) keeps them working somehow, maybe there’s a crude example (not clear) but anything

material require certain (not clear).

So, the Devas they have some roll over these different aspects of the nature but their powers are coming from Kṛṣṇa, they are not independent but they might forget somebody in the factory might get puffed up he forgets the managing director, till he gets fired, he gets (not clear).

But being absorbed in what he is doing, he might just get carried away, so sometimes Viṣṇu, he has to remind them because the different demons, they come; they create a lot of trouble for these Devas, and then sometimes there is so much trouble they don’t know what to do; they had to approach Viṣṇu in order to get a solution.

Explaining how there was once a demon shankachuda who came; created so much trouble that the Devas had to hide in the mount Meru, shankachuda decided he was going to neutralize the Devas by stealing from them all the Vedic knowledge so he went to the

Brahmaloka looking for the personified Vedas to steal them, the Vedas went into the ocean to dissolve themselves so they could not be found.

So shankachuda see them go in the ocean, he also entered in the ocean looking for them and the Devas were so happy (not clear) saw the opportunity that shankachuda was hiding looking in the ocean they went and went by the side of the ocean of milk and

they wanted Viṣṇu to come and help them but they saw that Viṣṇu, he was sleeping, Yoganidra so how they wake him up, how to attract his attention in an auspicious way so that he be pleased with them.

So, they all started a big kirtan (Guru Mahāraj and devotees have kirtan).

So, the kirtan was going on, the Devas started to dance, started really getting into the Kirtan; Lord Viṣṇu, he woke up; he was very happy, woke up from his yoga nidra, his mystic slumber, very happy to see all the Devas chanting his holy name.

The Lord really likes when the devotees chant Kirtan, all Devas were chanting, he was very happy, said this is the best day of my life, this is like my favorite day.

In my favorite day anyone on this particular day who chants my holy names, he can easily achieve…. know which day that one? The Ekadasi that’s why Ekadasi is so special. We chant the (not clear…. Karma kanda region…. not clear) very pleasing to the Lord, so anyone who chants to please that’s why we do more japa on Ekadasi to get that special blessings of the Lord.

So, then the Lord satisfied, to the Devas requested to please, if you can save us from

shankachuda he is in the ocean so then Kashyap Muni had a hand folded; the next thing a little fish came in the hand a little fish big; there was no room, he put it in the well; became bigger than the well, he put it in the lake, it became bigger than the lake then he put it in the ocean, took a gigantic form in the ocean, the matsya avatar, he defeated the shankachuda; liberated him. Now all the Vedas were still dissolved in the water.

So then by the mercy of Matsya Avatar, he saved all the Vedas, gave them back to Lord Brahmā; Brahma entrusted them to different Rishis each of the different departments of the Vedas so that’s why we have got the different Upanishads from Vedas in short being supervised by different devotees, they are expert in that particular line of knowledge.

So, the Devas, they are all dependent on the Lord, we are all dependent on the Lord, everything is dependent on the Lord as the Lord moves things move; for Lord stops moving, everything stops best example of, when Rādhārāṇī goes in Mahā van ; faints ; Kṛṣṇa also simultaneously feels so much separation his counter energy, Rādhārāṇī, she is in the supreme ecstasy of love for Kṛṣṇa that he also goes into immediate trance from separation.

When Kṛṣṇa is in trance when he is stunned when he is in that form of transcendental

form of unconsciousness then everything stops, everyone, everything in the entire creation all becomes frozen, unconscious only person that’s awake is Lord Balram as the Swayam Prakash Lord Kṛṣṇa has delegated his functions to him so that he doesn’t have to worry about it in case he goes unconscious, it’s a big problem, everything goes unconscious, he is the supreme consciousness, everything is within Kṛṣṇa but Kṛṣṇa counter heart is directly an expansion, he is given that independence that he will always remain conscious even when Kṛṣṇa is unconscious.

So Balram is a very unique position we just had Balarām’s appearance day meditating on

his transcendental glories.

So, lord Balarama, he wakes up Kṛṣṇa, revives from his ecstatic trance; then everything starts to move again.

So Kṛṣṇa arranges these types of things. So, he is not limited in any way, if he wants, he can also feel the ecstasy. Otherwise everyone (not clear) Swayam Prakash, he gives all essential energy function to him.

But this is a good example of how everything if Kṛṣṇa is not moving, nothing moves, so Mahā Viṣṇu is sleeping everything will stop but the yoga nidra is something different thing

it’s while resting (not clear…. also dreaming) in the sense how material world like the dream of Lord Mahā visnu.

Now this material birth is an opportunity for us as a human being to return back to our

original unconditional state that we can do by also chanting the holy names, purifying our consciousness being a human, we are able to achieve Kṛṣṇa Consciousness in this lifetime by accepting Bhakti, we can go directly back to the supreme personality of Godhead; in the 4th canto, Lord Śiva, he explains that how by 100 births of pious…. how many pious…100 births of perfect varnasram following varnashram principles perfectly for 100 births, one can achieve Brahma Loka.

However, even more piety is required to able to reach his planet but if one renders pure devotion to Lord Kṛṣṇa, pure Bhakti then even in1 birth, same life they can go back to Kṛṣṇa.

The Gopa Kumar in Brihad Bhagavatamrita, he was visiting Brahma Loka; then Brahma touched some form; big demon came in another form; Brahma ran away; Viṣṇu killed the demon but Brahma was not present. so, then the Gopa Kumar, he took…. was asked by

Viṣṇu that for the time being you (not clear …. fill …) for Lord Brahma (not clear) time for the next creation.

So, the Gopa Kumara created all the universe; this time he filled it up with Vaiṣṇavas, do the preaching, do yagyas, all kinds of, he wanted really good relation of all kinds of devotees. Then he saw that there was human being coming from Bharat; he was a liberated soul; he said where are you going; then he said I am going back to Godhead; then he started, what I am doing here in Brahmā Loka, I should also go (not clear).

So even the human beings by serving in the holy Dham, Navadwip, Mathura, engaging in pure devotional service, they also go back to Kṛṣṇa in the same lifetime, they can go beyond even the Devas, they can go to end of the life of Brahma even Brahma is feeling this apprehension although he is Brahma, he going to die also; like anyone when you die, you always wonder what’s going to happen, will I make it to the spiritual world, of course Brahma has a really good chance to make it.

But sometimes even Brahmas fall down, Bhakthi Vinod Thakur says that (not clear). I don’t want to be a materialistic Brahma. someone might be very pious but not be in pure devotion that’s why Brahma, he again have to come into the material world for another birth. [Guru Mahāraj recites a shloka]

I want to be a bug, an insect, a little worm in the stomach of your devotee because at least as a worm in the stomach of a pure Vaisnava, he will be able to get some Mahā prasad remnants; the devotees, they simply want to serve Kṛṣṇa, they don’t want anything else, they don’t want be Indradev or Brahmadev or anyone.

If Kṛṣṇa asks, even the Gopa Kumaras, they would just do their service.

So, the devotees don’t have any desire to do that other than the service to the Lord, they might sometimes do that for some other Devas they are pure devotees they are doing their service as a matter of devotional service for the Lord; some of them are not pure devotees, they are sakam bhaktas. Most of the pure devotees, they are going back, those who are serving Kṛṣṇa, end of the life they go back to Kṛṣṇa.

So, this is the great opportunity that we have, although we are born in kaliyuga, we have short life span, short memory, you have got so many disturbances, somehow or other if

we can fix our mind on the lotus feet of Śrī Śrī Gaur Nitāi, Rādhā Gokul Ananda be engaged in their devotional service, following the system given by Śrīla Prabhupad then we can achieve the highest perfection, we can go in pure love for Kṛṣṇa, Kṛṣṇa prem is higher than liberation.

Hare Kṛṣṇa Hare Kṛṣṇa Kṛṣṇa Kṛṣṇa Hare Hare

Hare Rāma Hare Rāma Rāma Rāma Hare Hare.

Any questions?

How desires are connected (not clear) certain activity say someone wants to be the prime minister so they try to enter the politics but they don’t have the karmas so they become the finance minister, they don’t have enough punya to make it to be the prime minister even though they have tried, everything. So many people enter politics, they are all gonna be the prime minister but somebody also becomes (not clear) doesn’t make it beyond that, doesn’t have the karma.

So, you have a particular desire, although someone wants to be rich but they don’t have any karma, even they try their level best, they just get hardly enough to eat. so how, what

activities we do; what desires we have, the two things propel us together, birth after birth we come, someone said [Not Clear – 00:39:43] 5 years old Mozart is an artist or musician, someone was saying [Not Clear – 00:39:57 not loud enough].

Anyway, could be, go on taking birth again; again, as a musician so you get that desire out of your system. Someone comes again; again, as a scientist but maybe the 1st time he come, next time he comes back, just see musicians, they try (not clear) that chance just to break into it; they try but they don’t make it, you know, they just play in night clubs or whole life or something; then next birth, you know, maybe they become a great musician.  Maybe takes five or ten.

Also, part of it, because they may have the desire but they don’t have the good karma to get that kind of thing.so somehow, they did enough punya; they have the desire; finally

then they get what they want so sacrifice, pious activities are needed they also have desire if you want Kṛṣṇa; you perform devotional service, you can get Kṛṣṇa, if you just want Kṛṣṇa but you don’t perform devotional service then.

So, the action; the desire both are needed.

[devotee asks a question] (not clear... play some music and help [laughter of devotees], become a bird or something, sing beautiful songs.

The desires, according to the desires, you’re given a certain body; according to your karmas how... karmas also produce desires, it’s all connected, somebody has a tamasic, so many sinful activities develop tamasic desires, so then the desires form that kind of a body; it’s very intricate, it’s a hundred births not only one birth; all the birth’s karmas accumulate together, there is difference layers, several layers of karma then desire’s also the factor.

Thinking, feeling; willing, if we want to right now, we can just reverse the whole situation of karma by engaging ourself in devotional service but if we want material things, it may take a while to get what we want. if you do sacrifices, you can get what you want quicker.

So, materialists, they do karma kanda sacrifices in order to achieve, even the demons do sacrifices also; they get mystic powers; they get things, in the material world, somebody wants to shortcut the way to material success, they do sacrifice so even the Bhāgavatam says if you want to achieve all material things or if you want to achieve liberation or if you want to achieve devotional service, you have no desire then you should all render to pure devotional service Guru.

Mahāraj recites a shloka:

Akāmaḥ sarva-kāmo va

Moksha-kama Udara-dhi

Tīvreṇa bhakti-yogena

Yajeta Puruṣaṁ param

Hare Kṛṣṇa.

Thank you.

That’s the supreme sacrifice (not clear) … you can do other sacrifices.so people worship the Devas in charge of music so they worship the deva in charge of this and that item (not

clear…. taking care particular acting)

Kṛṣṇa says actually I am in the heart of the Devas; I am the one who is giving the blessing but they want a particular thing, they want to approach that way indirectly so I fix their faith; they do it, so you will find in India, especially musicians they all worship Goddess Sarasvatī; they worship, you know, they do their pujas; to get  they do the particular puja for the particular deity of the thing that they want to achieve; then some directly worship Viṣṇu even to get everything through Viṣṇu  but then if you are worshiping Viṣṇu then after (not clear) why am I working so hard for this particular thing when I can get the supreme thing which is actually pure devotion.

So now in Kaliyuga there is not so much time is recommended to worship Viṣṇu and trying to achieve the pure devotion.

But if we even if we have material desire, ok, anyway still worship Viṣṇu and that will lead you, eventually cause you to the pure devotion.

Hare Kṛṣṇa.
