19950806 Bhagavad-gītā 10.1

6 Aug 1995|English|Bhagavad-gītā|Warsaw, Poland

The following is a class given by His Holiness Jayapatākā Swami Maharāja on August 6th, 1995 in Warsaw, Poland. The class begins from a reading from the Bhagavad-gītā chapter 10 verse 1

śrī-bhagavān uvāca
bhūya eva mahā-bāho śṛṇu me paramaṁ vacaḥ
yat te ’haṁ prīyamāṇāya vakṣyāmi hita-kāmyayā

Translation: (devotee reads in Polish)  The Supreme Personality of Godhead said: Listen again, O mighty-armed Arjuna. Because you are My dear friend, for your benefit I shall speak to you further, giving knowledge that is better than what I have already explained.

Purport: The word bhagavān is explained thus by Parāśara Muni: one who is full in six opulences, who has full strength, full fame, wealth, knowledge, beauty and renunciation, is Bhagavān, or the Supreme Personality of Godhead. While Kṛṣṇa was present on this earth, He displayed all six opulences. Therefore great sages like Parāśara Muni have all accepted Kṛṣṇa as the Supreme Personality of Godhead. Now Kṛṣṇa is instructing Arjuna in more confidential knowledge of His opulences and His work. Previously, beginning with the Seventh Chapter, the Lord has already explained His different energies and how they are acting. Now in this chapter He explains His specific opulences to Arjuna. In the previous chapter He has clearly explained His different energies to establish devotion in firm conviction. Again in this chapter He tells Arjuna about His manifestations and various opulences.  The more one hears about the Supreme God, the more one becomes fixed in devotional service. One should always hear about the Lord in the association of devotees; that will enhance one’s devotional service. Discourses in the society of devotees can take place only among those who are really anxious to be in Kṛṣṇa consciousness. Others cannot take part in such discourses. The Lord clearly tells Arjuna that because Arjuna is very dear to Him, for his benefit such discourses are taking place.

Thus end the Bhaktivedanta Swami translation and purport to Bhagavad Gita As It Is chapter 9 text 22

Jayapatākā Swami: We should hear about the Lord in the association of devotees. Haribol! Here the devotees are famous for being very eager to hear about Kṛṣṇa-kathā. So that something which can enhance one’s devotional service. Parāśara Muni is the father of Vyāsadeva. He was trying to figure out who is Bhagavān, who is the Supreme. So he did a study of all the different personalities and the creation. How many qualities they have. And he divided into sixty-four qualities. Categories of qualities. So he found that Brahmā has fifty of such qualities. Under that, like that living entities can have maximum upto fifty in small quantity. Of all living entities Brahmā has them the most. And he found that Lord Śiva has five more qualities than Lord Brahmā. Or fifty five qualities. And lord Viṣṇu has got five more than Lord Śiva. And then finally amongst all the forms of Viṣṇu He found only Kṛṣṇa has got all the sixty-four qualities. So this way by analytical study he came to the conclusion that Kṛṣṇa was the Supreme. It’s hard for people to understand which is the original form. By the help of these sages like Parāśara Muni then it becomes understandable.

In India there is still some people don’t know exactly what how one divine form relates with another. Of course, in the west they don’t know like what divine forms they are at all. Except that there is a form of the father and Supersoul. And son of God. In the Godhead and there is so many different qualities are there Unlimited different personalities of different expansions of Kṛṣṇa. Each one is got the same potential. All simultaneously manifesting pastimes When Narada Muni went to see Kṛṣṇa in Dvārakā, He saw how Kṛṣṇa was having different pastimes of each of His palaces. Nārada Muni has a mystic power and he can make himself into ten forms. Mystic yogīs know how to do that, expand their form in to ten. And perfected bhakti-yogīs get that power sometimes, something by the blessing of Kṛṣṇa. But when a yogī does that or else perfected person does that still there’s only one consciousness. The mood, the emotion will be the same in all the bodies. Just that ten bodies, ten sets of senses will be gathering the information at the same time. But, the thing Nārada Muni said that Kṛṣṇa’s expansions are not limited like that. One expansion of Kṛṣṇa is laughing and other one’s very dramatic and other one is discussing. Each one is completely self-contained. So, he could understand little bit of the fraction of the greatness of Kṛṣṇa. So Kṛṣṇa here in this planet He manifested 16,108 forms. In Dvārakā. But that’s nothing much. That’s just a token, just a demonstration. Because His manifest in all the unlimited millions of universes. Also when He dances with the gopīs and He’d manifest millions of forms. Very difficult to find, there is no way to find end of Kṛṣṇa’s glories.

What all these things had to let us understand is how Kṛṣṇa is transcendental to the material energy. Therefore, He’s worthy of taking shelter on. Just like if you are in ocean on the boat. Like a boat when it wants to tie down, it wants to tie down to the solid ground. What’s the use of you tie a boat down to with something which is also moving in the ocean, both will go out in the ocean. People want to be independent in this world. But everyone is forced to depend on material nature. We’re forced to depend on the senses. The senses are fallible. The senses have only got a limited effectiveness. For instance, now we got this human form of body. The subtle body is linked to the ātmā through the false ego. And where ātmā is seeing everything through these subtle and gross bodies. So the soul has got ability to see much beyond what we are able to see now. Just like if you’re inside submarine and you’re only you can see by the periscope. Or Someone sometimes the security guards they sit in one place and they have certain number of video cameras looking near the, the tv’s they can see the doorways. We are limited that what we can, what information we can get by the mind and the senses. In the universes you can hire bodies, they have more range, more ability to perceive knowledge in a wider range.

So Lord Brahmā, he has perception of what’s going on in the whole universe. You know the story about the yogī wanted to have the consciousness of Brahmā. Then his whole brain completely exploded when it happened. Because how was is possible to put all the perception of Brahmā in to such a small brain as the human brain. Like just like putting all the information of a big computer on little computer would overload the computer. So, the devas, the administrative demigods, their bodies have got a much perception than what we have. But all these material perceptions is, are limited by the body. When we’re liberated then we can actually see Kṛṣṇa.    Who is beyond the material world. So it’s very important to understand the limitations of our own physical and subtle existence. What we’re seeing is what’s filtered through this body. What we’re perceiving is what we get filtered through the senses. Although we have this limited perception But we have got enough intelligence that we can, can see, we can learn about Kṛṣṇa. So if we use our intelligence to try to understand Kṛṣṇa Then we can get purified from this material gross and subtle bodies And at the end of this body that we can go back to the spiritual world.

Just like Dhruva Mahārāja at the end of his life he was taken back to Godhead. Lord Viṣṇu sent His spiritual airplane to pick up Dhruva Mahārāja Nanda and Sunanda, the personal secretaries of, or attendants of Lord Viṣṇu they came to pick up Dhruva Mahārāja. It’s big as the house, the airplanes Completely spiritual Because the mother of Dhruva had guided him to look for God So when he, he asked before getting on the spiritual airplane, what about my mother? How can I go without her? She’s the one who made me look for God in first place Look there! See up! He looked and there he could see his mother going in other spiritual airplane waving to him. Hello Dhruva come on! (laughing) Then Dhruva, he went and took a bath in the river Put on the fresh clothes Paid his obeisances to the spiritual airplane and the associates of Viṣṇu Because he knew everything connected with the Lord is also worshipable just like the Lord So we worship the paraphernalia of the Lord We worship the pure devotees of the Lord The guru, who’s representing the Lord everything connected with the Lord is also sacred. He went around that spiritual airplane, circumambulated Then finally he thought okay now I can enter into it. Just he went into it and death personified came But he fearlessly stepped on the head of death, went into the vimāna There several mentions about the spiritual airplane being sent to pick up devotees to go back to Vaikuṇṭha And there was that brāhmaṇa who was mentally doing pūjā of Viṣṇu Then finally one day he was cooking the sweet rice And he wanted to test that whether the sweet rice was hot enough In his meditation he put his finger Ah! That burnt! He woke out of his meditation He saw that his physical finger was burnt He got bewildered, how is that possible? I was doing mental worship, how my physical finger got burnt? Meanwhile in the spiritual world the Supreme Lord Viṣṇu He was smiling. He had played a joke on His devotee. So Lakṣmī, the Goddess of Fortune was asking the Lord why He was smiling He said, I’m very pleased with one devotee I’ll introduce you to him. Send the airplane, bring him up So immediately he got the free passes back to home back to Godhead So many people in the world they trying to get visas for certain countries

Some people they want to get a visa for America Probably in Poland, some people want to get a visa for America (laughing) Cause they announce the giving away hundred thousand free visa, will there be a rush? (laughing) See, so somebody they may have got the passage money but they may not have a visa But some people may have a visa but they don’t have the money, they have to buy the ticket also You see, when you get the visa to go back to Godhead you get the free passage also Of course everyone in this material world there’s a place of suffering What to speak of anywhere in this planet, but also even in higher planets there's suffering. Much less suffering, but much less suffering in higher planets. The devas from the higher planets, they came and prayed to Lord Caitanya While He was in the womb of His mother They said, we know that in this incarnation You’re coming down to give something that You have never given before. In other incarnations like Matsya, Kūrma, Varāha, Nṛsiṁha you gave liberation But we understand in this incarnation You’re giving freely love for Godhead So we want your causeless mercy. We don’t want the mercy of material blessings. In the higher planets of this material world we have so much material sense gratification We don’t want more of that.

We only have two problems there, One problem is that sometime we get attacked by the demons. And then we had to fight with them. Like in the eighth canto Bhāgavatam there is a big fight described between the demons and the devas. After churning the ocean of milk And gaining out the nectar The Viṣṇu in the form of Mohiṇī-mūrti gave the nectar to the devas. So the demons became very angry with the devas. The devas are very powerful because they’d all drink the nectar. The demons had decided we’re going to attack these devas. And there was a massive battle. Bali Mahārāja was the General of the demos And so many prominent demons came out to fight So, Bali was fighting with Indra. Kārttikeya was fighting with someone else Ganeśa with someone, all the different devas were all fighting with different demons. Even material nature came as Bhadra Kālī and she was also fighting. So Indra he was defeating Bali So then Bali he created a gigantic mountain Which went over the devas and blacked out the light. Just as the drop, things on top of it, closing that. So then Lord, became very complicated, became very difficult for the, for the devas So then Lord Viṣṇu came and He was able to save We can see that how the devas sometime they’re put to trouble by these demons. So why would one depend on someone who is also depending on someone. Why we depend on deva when they’re all depending on Kṛṣṇa. If you depend on them as a devotee of Viṣṇu, then it’s alright. Because that’s a true position. But if you are depending as if they were independent, and that’s illusion.

In the Padma Purāṇa it also mentions about a very massive war. In the early periods of the universe. Hiraṇyakaśipu along with all the demons attacked all the devas Thus before he got his powers He said there was such a massive battle going on. So many demons and devas were getting chopped up, rivers and rivers of blood were flowing So many weapons were falling, they was cutting dams in the blood was getting backed up and flooding people’s homes. The weapons that were falling from the fight, from the sky created dams. Dam is like you know, damming up the water of the, damming up the blood, creating flood of blood. It’s a very elaborate story how the different. Demons and devas were fighting with each other So it’s the problem in the heavenly planets that they get attacked by the demons. So whatever the, whatever star wars anything is nothing compared to the actual wars of the demons and the devas they had. When they have a war, it’s unbelievable the wars they have. Sometimes the demons come on a special aircraft and they’re bombing the devas and Some demons have got mystic powers, all different types of  So it’s a one demon attacked, was riding on a gigantic elephant and he attacked Ganesh and said your father Śiva killed my father Tripura, so I’m going to kill you! Then he threw some weapons and Ganeśa would chop them up before they came to him. Then Ganeśa threw weapons to him Then the demon attacked with this elephant and elephant started attacking the mouse of Ganeśa, Ganeśa rides on a mouse. Ganeśa has a, everyone has his own carrier. His carrier is a big rat. It’s not ordinary rat. This is also mystical rat. This rat became big like elephant was fighting with elephant. So Ganeśa is fighting, the elephant, everyone they’re both fighting you know.

Like there was a, in the war with Bali Mahārāja there was a one demon and he couldn't be killed by any weapon. Indra sent his supreme weapon the thunderbolt, nothing happened. Then he got to say that what’s the use of fighting? My biggest weapon didn’t do anything. But then divine voice told him that he can’t be killed, the Brahmā someone gave a blessing that he won’t be killed by anything liquid or anything solid. Anything wet or anything dry. That’s why your weapon didn’t work. So you have to kill him with something not wet and not dry. So then Indra had to think what, how to kill this demon He came up with a foam weapon. This foam was not wet or it’s not dry. It’s in between So he was, the demon was killed by foam. (laughing) Back to the first work. Finally after so many demons got killed then the one demon came out to fight. He’s a most powerful demon, his name was Madhu demon. He put Indra to big trouble. But somehow Indra was able to give him some, to neutralize him at initially to just like balance how it could. But then what he did is he turn all the demons into the form of devas So then the devas couldn’t recognise who’s a deva, who’s a demon there. Like in the football team everybody wearing the same uniform. But he actually made them like there were two, two Ganeśas and different, all the demons were same like devas. So that demons in the form of deva they start to kill the devas This created a real confusion, the devas were why my brother is killing me? They couldn’t recognize that this is a demon in the form of a deva. So there was a total confusion, they didn’t know who to fight who not to fight, who’s gonna attack you. The demons were really then got bewildered what to do! The devas kind of follow some system of fighting like gentlemen, but the demons when they, they can do anything so, So they prayed to Lord Viṣṇu to save them, they couldn’t, Brahmā ask Viṣṇu, You please do something because the devas are getting quite down. So up to then, Viṣṇu was neutral but under request of Brahmā He came and And He gave the order to the Sudarśaṇa Cakra to go and kill all the demons who were in the form of devas. There was also confusing cause many devas they couldn’t figure out what was going on they thought now Sudarśaṇa Cakra is killing the devas, how come Viṣṇu went against us? So much confusion was created by these demons. Then, the Madhu demon he quickly changes form before the Sudarśaṇa Cakra came. He took the form of Lord Śiva. Imitation, just looking like Śiva. And he challenged that Viṣṇu what You have done You killed all the devas, now I’m going to kill You. The devas were just, wow what’s going on! Viṣṇu and Śiva are going to fight! What’s going on here? And Viṣṇu is saying you’re just the Madhu demon you’re not Śiva So there was some fight and Viṣṇu wet to kill the Madhu demon. So again the Viṣṇu let go His Sudarśaṇa Cakra against the Madhu in the form of Durgā. So then he quickly left that Durgā form there and he again escaped. Now he went to the real Kārttikeya In some subtle form And then he told the Kārttikeya, look at! Viṣṇu’s killed your mother and father Śiva and Durgā. So you should take vengeance and you should attack Viṣṇu. Vengeance So Kārttikeya he got, out of affection for his parents he got little mad. Otherwise he is a great devotee of Viṣṇu but he got bewildered and then he start to go to attack Viṣṇu. See the kind of illusion that this demon was able to create. And Lord Brahmā came and he told Kārttikeya what you’re doing? What you’re going to attack Viṣṇu? He killed my mother and father. Are you fool, look at your mother and father and there there he’s seen illusion showed up and gave vision. They could see they are moving in between the planets. These not your mother and father, these are illusions all created by the Madhu demon. So ultimately none of the Madhu’s plans worked out but So finally after all these theaters Then Kṛṣṇa Viṣṇu He decapitated the Madhu demon That’s why He’s known as Madhusūdana. This Madhu demon he was very powerful. Only Viṣṇu could liberate him.

So being even in the deva planets you have to face all these demons attack sometimes. Here Europe there’s already been two world wars. Suddenly the war breaks out. Now there’s a war going on in former Yugoslavia. So many thousands of people being killed. Very confusing situation. Even if somebody has got economic development some war can come and take everything away. Or like in Japan there was recently there was a big earthquake and everything was taken away by the earthquake. Similarly earthquake in California of America. Big highways that were supposed to be earthquake proof all failed. (laughing) So in this world even though someone may make so many plans but still things can be brought to certain end. So nothing in this world is really worth taking shelter of. But Kṛṣṇa is transcendental. So we take shelter fo Him then that is the best situation. Then we are not dependant upon, unnecessarily upon this material world. So many different personalities were taken back to a planet of Viṣṇu by His spiritual airplanes. So which Kṛṣṇa is saying, don’t go to any planet in this material world cause no matter what planet you go to it’s all place of misery. And wherever you go you again you have to come back here. ‘ā-Brahmā-bhuvanāl lokāḥ punar āvartino 'rjuna’, even upto Brahmā loka again you have to come back down here. Once the good karmas are warned out you have to leave that place.

Some rich people they went out spend some room in the hotel and they spend lot of money. And if the money runs out, they’ll throw them out of the hotel, get out! (laughing) No money, finish. (laughing) So someone does good works they get a place, birth in the higher planet. When the good karmas are used up Ah! (laughing) They get push back down! You see, but the Kṛṣṇa says whoever reached His planet they never come back again. ‘mām upetya tu kaunteya punar janma na vidyate’, whoever reaches Him they don’t come back.

Satyabhāmā when they ask Lord Kṛṣṇa, why is it, how is it I got this mercy to become Your queen? I must have done some pious activities or what did I do? How could I get such a blessing? What was I in my previous births to do, to have achieved this blessing? So then Lord Kṛṣṇa explained how in the previous birth. So well, Kṛṣṇa explained that one time there was a very pious brāhmaṇa. His name was Satyadeva or Satyabhaṭṭa something like that. And he was very careful about all his religious duties and worshipping Lord. And he, he had a daughter called Guṇavatī who was a very highly qualified. So on order of his guru he became a guru after the his guru left the planet. So he had a disciple called Candra something. And he gave his daughter Guṇavatī to marry his disciple. So Candra, he was serving his guru just very faithfully like a good son would serve a father. That example was given in the Veda because previously these sons use to serve the father very nicely. So may not be so understood now a days in Kali-yuga. But anyway he serve very faithfully. So one day the guru and disciple went out to gather some flowers in the forest. Satyadeva and Candra went out to gather flowers for the deities. And went deep in the forest. Deep in the dark forest. (laughing) And Wah! Out jumped out a demon  And killed both of them on the spot. Now you might think how it’s, what happened! They were devotees, how could they be killed? What is this mean? Viṣṇu is supposed to protect them. We have to understand what the protection mean, doesn’t mean that necessarily material protection. May be spiritual protection. No sooner did they die, no sooner where the two devotees killed, immediately upon being killed, when they were killed. Again this famous airplane came to get them. And they immediately taken back to the Vaikuṇṭha-loka. Because they were so nicely situated in devotional service. So Kṛṣṇa just took them back to the spiritual world. But the poor Guṇavatī She suddenly became a widow. No husband, no father. No guru. So there she was, maybe she had some young children. So she did final rights for her husband and father. So rest of her life she very carefully did devotional service to Kṛṣṇa. Especially she was very careful to do Ekādaśī. And every, I guess she would do the sacred month of Dāmodara. She never misses an Ekādaśī her whole life. She always did the, now we were in the cāturmāsya. This is a time we do some special practices, very small some practices. Like first month now we don’t eat spinach. Second month no yogurt. Third month is no milk. We can take other milk products but not milk. And the fourth month is no high protein. That’s a month even the non-vegetarians are vegetarian, in that month. In India say someone use to eat fish, but that month they’ll be vegetarian. So you can have the congregation if that month, at least that month at least they should be vegetarian, not other months. There are other practices we do, that month we offer lamps to the Lord. We sing special prayers. So she did all these practices very carefully. In this way she became old. And frail, frail, you know like, frail means physically you know weak and frail. And she lived in a place by the side of the Ganges. I forgot to mention her residence, it was Mayapur. She lived in the holy land of Māyāpur. So she went down to the ganges to take her bath. In the winter She went into the cold water. Being old and thin she start shivering, oh! So cold! She start shaking so much She got frightened what’s going to happen She saw death coming But then again immediately appeared the associates of Viṣṇu. Right while she was in the waters of the Ganges they took her soul from the body and She was transferred back to the spiritual world. So Kṛṣṇa said that you are that Guṇavatī, you have appeared here as My queen. Your father is the Satyadeva And your previous husband has taken birth as Akrura.

So it’s so important to observe Ekādaśī So important to observe the holy days. One can get the lot of mercy. By observing those special days. So Ekādaśī, Viṣṇu said, Kṛṣṇa said is My favourite day of the, of all the tithīs, it’s My favourite tithī. It’s a lunar day Anyone who observes Ekādaśī, who chants my names and serves me on that day I’m very pleased with them. So, in this way Lord Kṛṣṇa was glorifying serving Him on Ekādaśī. Of course she also was serving Him on the holy dham. So like this many people they got the tickets back to Godhead. So the devotees, they’ll go back to Godhead if there’s devotional service for them to do. What they really want to do is serve Kṛṣṇa. If it’s to go back without doing service to Kṛṣṇa then they’re not interested. They go back with, only if Kṛṣṇa is power asking them to do some service. So the desire to serve is what Lord Caitanya is given us. We should be thoroughly convinced that every place in the material world is ultimately a place of suffering. Even if we find ourself in the situation where we need certain amount of sense gratification. We should regulate that according to the scriptures. And develop our So we regulate the material side so we can give more attention to the spiritual side. So when you hear about the Lord and His expansions. You hear about the different devas You can understand the difference between the devas and the Supreme Lord. The devas also can be bewildered sometimes. And they’re are bewildered to some degree, may be not as much as we are but they’re also bewildered. But Kṛṣṇa is completely transcendental. So those who take shelter of Him They get the special mercy. So everyone should decide whether they want to shelter in their own brain or their own senses or whether they want to take shelter in Kṛṣṇa. Or if they want to take shelter in some other deity, other than Kṛṣṇa. One of the demigods. Ultimately we can see that Kṛṣṇa is the basis of everything. So that’s why Arjuna he was fixed to serve Kṛṣṇa. And for Arjuna Kṛṣṇa was very dear to him. So we should also have the faith even no matter what happens if we are fixed in our duties to Kṛṣṇa and guru, then Kṛṣṇa He’ll, He promises that He’ll never leave us.

Hare Kṛṣṇa Hare Kṛṣṇa Kṛṣṇa Kṛṣṇa Hare Hare
Hare Rāma Hare Rāma Rāma Rāma Hare Hare

 Any question?

Question: How’s the demon Madhu he attain such power?

Jayapatākā Swami: They get, they do some, they do lot of tapasyā and they, they have their gurus. Like Śukrācārya So, or they may worship like Brahmā or something and get some blessing. Brahmā is the father of both the devas and the demons. So he is, more neutral in these things. Although he’s concerned about the devas, actually what happened was after the Madhu demon got killed then all the demons were getting wiped out. Actually the, no that was the different one, but after in the second war, it said in the Bhāgavatam. It said how the demons were getting wiped out at one point and Brahmā he had the devas stopped. He got the devas to stop because otherwise then have been all the demon will be masicured. Even Brahmā he wants to see not to extinguish any of the species. But devas are acting on behalf of Kṛṣṇa for administering the universe. So generally they get the favor because they’re devotees. But even the demons they’re not, they’re also children of Brahmā. So sometime they get blessings from Brahmā. Many children are descendents of Brahmā, creations of Brahmā. These are not human beings. They’re human in a greater sense, not like earth kind of humans. There is a particular race called dānavas or asuras who were very powerful. They live in a higher planetary system. Or in a lower system. But they’re very powerful. They’re almost as powerful as the devas. But all the devas are more powerful than they are. But sometime of they lose their power because of offending the guru or something then the demons immediately take advantage and attack them. Just like Nova, yesterday Qureshi did a big attack and took over all the land. Because that Serbs were too much of preoccupied. But then again the Serbs may attack them and like this war can go on. So like that the demon and the devas are their fighting that’s an never ends, if goes and it stops and then again after some thousands years again they fight. The demons they do, they lot of determination they do austerities and penances and they do yogic mystic power and they get powers because of that. And some of them have lot of technology. They’re also expert in the black magic. Where the devas all get their power from more from Viṣṇu and by, they also to do some austerities. So the point Prabhupāda said is actually devas and the demons it they’re smart, they’ll all take shelter of Lord Caitanya’s movement and get love of Kṛṣṇa. Lord Caitanya is giving His mercy to everyone. He’s not killing any demons. But He kills that demoniac nature. And He gives some love for Kṛṣṇa. So here’s the opportunity for the demons and the devas all to get liberated, all to get love of Kṛṣṇa. It’s a big question, people don’t understand why is that there’s this suffering in the world. They don’t understand how Kṛṣṇa He gives us independence to act. Some people they get more power by religious activities and that white sides. Some people they can get more power by sinful means or by kind of a more tāmasika, tāmasika means Like some people doing honest business and there’s some people who’re doing mafia and all kinds of So the devas and they’re doing pious activities so that’s why they take birth as devas. The demons are because of doing sinful activity they take, somehow they got birth as the demon. Prabhupāda one day he was riding, we’re riding out in the car to, from Calcutta to Māyāpur. In that car he always had a picture of Kṛṣṇa and Balarāma So he said in this universe there was this fight between good and evil going on. Sometimes the good prevails sometimes the evil prevails. Actually Kṛṣṇa is neutral. Cause He is transcendental to this material world. He gives the people the free will and then according to their karmas they’re getting results. So the devotees are really with Kṛṣṇa. They may look like they’re on the good side. But actually they’re on Kṛṣṇa’s side. So we’re in a special department, our department is to save everybody we can. If somebody becomes a devotee naturally they become favourable to the devas. But actually the devotees are, that’s not their limitation, they’re actually devoted to Kṛṣṇa. So all you will be given empowered to represent Kṛṣṇa. And everyone when you come in contact by the people you can influence them to also take up Kṛṣṇa consciousness. This is mentioned in the Bhāgavatam.
