20231003 Evening Address

The following is an evening address given by His Holiness Jayapatākā Swami Mahārāja on October 3rd,2023 in Bangalore,India. The talk was given at ISKCON Sri Narasimha Giridhari Temple in Bangalore, India

mūkaṁ karoti vācālaṁ paṅguṁ laṅghayate girim
yat-kṛpā tam ahaṁ vande śrī-guruṁ dīna-tāraṇam
paramānandaṁ mādhavaṁ śrī caitanya iśvaram

Hariḥ oṁ tat sat!

Jayapataka Swami: Namma Bengaluru! Our Bengaluru! The enthusiasm of the devotees here is very special! We see in some places that the young people jump and dance. But here young, old everybody is very active. We would like to see Bengaluru as the spiritual headquarters of India. For that to happen we need your efforts. Every one of you can influence someone else to be more spiritual. Actually, Kṛṣṇa is in everyone’s heart as the Supersoul. Doesn’t matter whether one is Hindu, Christian, Muslim, He is in everyone’s heart. We want everyone to be conscious that Kṛṣṇa is in their heart. That by being Kṛṣṇa conscious they could have Kṛṣṇa with them all the time.

So, I am very glad that I had a quick trip here to Bengaluru. Although while I was here, I heard that there is a drought in Karnataka. Some places in the world there are floods, some places there are droughts. Even in New York City there was recently a flood. You can have Kṛṣṇa’s mercy rain down upon you by chanting Hare Kṛṣṇa! In the 1970s there was a drought in Andhra Pradesh. And they were having a big yajña, with 108 kuṇḍas. But there was a lot of smoke, no rain. Śrīla Prabhupāda, he took a party of devotees and started chanting in Hyderabad. And there was rain! So this is the secret, for climate change! If everybody chants Hare Kṛṣṇa, that will organize the climate. Hare Kṛṣṇa, Hare Kṛṣṇa, Kṛṣṇa Kṛṣṇa, Hare Hare, Hare Rāma, Hare Rāma, Rāma Rāma, Hare Hare! The world today is very afflicted by climate change. They want to change the carbon emission. But the real secret is everyone should chant Hare Kṛṣṇa mahā-mantra. Hare Kṛṣṇa, Hare Kṛṣṇa, Kṛṣṇa Kṛṣṇa, Hare Hare, Hare Rāma, Hare Rāma, Rāma Rāma, Hare Hare! So you can bring about this revolution by chanting and also encouraging others to chant. 

I am very happy that Whitefield has got some new land. I am very happy to see here a nice congregation. Very beautiful Deities. I am sorry that I am late tonight. Here there are a lot of ecstatic devotees! Lord Caitanya had predicted that in every town and village of the world the people will be chanting His holy name. Hare Kṛṣṇa! I am glad how this temple has been assisting me, that you want to have temples throughout Bengaluru. In this way, be able to change and thus bring up a positive consciousness. I am grateful to all the leaders and the devotees in this temple who are helping to spread Kṛṣṇa consciousness throughout Bengaluru. So together if you try, it will certainly come true! It is the prediction of Lord Caitanya, certainly your efforts will see fruits! Thank you again!
