20220713 Message on Guru Pūrṇimā

Hare Kṛṣṇa to all my social media receivers,

Today is the special day of Vyāsadeva’s appearance known as Guru Pūrṇimā by many. In Vṛndāvana they celebrate this because Sanātana Gosvāmī also disappeared on this day. In Māyāpur, we are having a special festival for His Holiness Bhakti Cāru Swami, as he has disappeared from this world on this day. So, this is a very special day, the Guru Pūrṇimā. We want to encourage all the devotees, all the people who are reading my social media entries, to chant Hare Kṛṣṇa, and in this way your life will be successful.

Actually, there is no difference between Kṛṣṇa and His holy name. So, to chant the names of Kṛṣṇa means to associate directly with Kṛṣṇa. In this material world, we falsely identify with our body. We are actually the eternal spirit souls. And our body is alive because of the presence of the spirit soul. Once the spirit soul leaves the body, the body starts to decompose and is not beautiful anymore. One can be a most beautiful lady, but once the soul leaves the body, no one would care for her. The thing is that there should be some institutions that teach one about the soul but unfortunately there are none. Therefore, Śrīla Prabhupāda established the International Society for Krishna Consciousness to teach the science of the soul. How we are actually eternal souls, we never die, we have an eternal relationship with the Supreme Personality of Godhead and that’s what is really missing in our lives. We have to awaken this relationship and start to enjoy the transcendental life.
