3 Oct 2021|English|Question and Answer Session|Śrī Māyāpur, India

Aruṇa Kānti Gaurāṅga dāsa [Bengali]: In the śāstra it says that the ideal disciple is one who does not talk about his material aspects to the guru. Then will the disciple not be able to ask the guru questions to get solution for any of his problems?

Jayapatākā Swami: Guru is meant to answer spiritual questions. But if the disciple wants some material advice which stock market to buy, which horse to bet on, what lottery ticket to buy, all these things are not the area of the guru. And if they also break the regulative principles So if you have a spiritual question you can ask. You have to do your activities in such a way that they are Kṛṣṇa conscious.

Chandana Hazarika: Lord Caitanya Mahāprabhu is Kṛṣṇa with the mood of Śrīmatī Rādhārāṇī. Then how could he feel the rasa of emotion which happened during Kaṁsa-vadha?

Jayapatākā Swami: He liked the pastimes of Rādhā and Kṛṣṇa the most but we see that Gadādhara Prabhu was the incarnation of Rādhārāṇī, he would read the pastimes of Dhruva Mahārāja, of Prahlāda Mahārāja and Lord Caitanya would be in great bliss. So anything which would manifest Kṛṣṇa’s pastimes naturally Lord Caitanya would like it.
