Under the Section: The Lord’s Attempt to Go to Vṛndāvana

Caitanya-Bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 4.119

devarṣi rājarṣi siddha purāṇa bhārate
āmā' anveṣaye, keha nā pāya dekhite

Jayapatākā Swami: “The saintly demigods, the saintly kings, the perfected beings, the Purāṇas, and the Mahābhārata cannot see Me even after intense search. By searching the Lord one is not able to find the Lord unless the Lord reveals Himself, He only does so to the pure devotees.

Caitanya-Bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 4.120

vaiṣṇavāparādhī vyatīta e-yuge sakalakei durlabha harināma-vitaraṇera pratijñā—

saṅkīrtana-ārambhe mohāra avatāra
uddhāra karimu sarva patita saṁsāra

Jayapatākā Swami: “I have incarnated to inaugurate the saṅkīrtana (the congregational chanting of the holy name) movement. I will deliver all the fallen souls of this world.

Caitanya-Bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 4.121

ye daitya yavane more kabhu nāhi mane
e-yuge tāhārā kāndibeka mora nāme

Jayapatākā Swami: “Thosee demons and Yavanas who never accept Me, in this age they will also cry while chanting My holy names.

Purport by Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura: Sinful people take birth in lower species of life and become envious of the Supreme Lord, but by the advent of Śrī Caitanyadeva all fallen souls are delivered. They express eagerness to see Śrī Caitanya.

Jayapatākā Swami: So, in previous yuga, women, śūdras and others were not given access. The meat eaters and others were prohibited but in Kali-yuga everyone can get the mercy of Lord Caitanya Mahāprabhu and He came to deliver all the fallen souls

Caitanya-Bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 4.122-123

yateka aspṛṣṭa duṣṭa yavana caṇḍāla
strī-śūdra-ādi yata adhama rākhāla

hena bhakti-yoga dimu e-yuge sabāre
sura muni siddha ye nimitta kāmya kare

Jayapatākā Swami: “In this age I will distribute devotional service that is desired by the demigods, sages, and perfected beings to everyone, including the untouchables, miscreants, Yavanas, dog-eaters, women, śūdras, and other fallen souls belonging to the lower castes. So, Lord Caitanya Mahāprabhu is revealing His mission, every avatāra has a particular mission and Lord Caitanya’s mission is to deliver all the fallen souls. Previous yugas these people, those who are not according to varṇāśrama were not able to be delivered, are being delivered by the mercy of Lord Caitanya, the untouchables, miscreants, meat-eaters, yavana, women, śūdras and other fallen souls, they all are delivered by the mercy of Lord Caitanya.

Caitanya-Bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 4.124-125

vidyā-dhana-kula-jñāna-tapasyāra made
ye mora bhaktera sthāne kare aparādhe

sei-saba jana ha'be e-yuge vañcita
sabe tārā nā mānibe āmāra carita

Jayapatākā Swami: “But people who are intoxicated by education, wealth, high birth, knowledge, and austerity and who as a result commit offenses to My devotees will be cheated in this age, for they will not accept My qualities and activities.

Purport by Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura: “Although many of the demigods and perfect sages are renowned for their pure character, they lack devotion for Me, but with a desire to attain auspiciousness, they pray for My mercy. Those who are proud of their education, wealth, high birth, knowledge, and austerity and who commit offenses at the feet of devotees with no affinity for the material world are cheated by Me. They can never understand My true identity.”

Jayapatākā Swami: So, the offenders of the devotees are deprived of the Lord’s  mercy, being proud of one’s education, wealth, high birth, knowledge and austerity and if they commit offenses to my devotees, they are deprived of the mercy.

Caitanya-Bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 4.126

śrī-caitanya-mukhodgīrṇa bhaviṣyadvāṇī—pṛthivīra sarvadeśa-grāme

gauranāma-pracāra—

pṛthivī-paryānta yata āche deśa-grāma
sarvatra sañcāra haibeka mora nāma

Jayapatākā Swami: “In every town and village of the world, the chanting of My holy name will be heard.

Purport by Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura: My names will be broadcast in all the villages and cities of the world. Even though persons averse to the Supreme Lord have never heard of the forms, qualities, and activities of the Supreme Lord, the holy names of the Lord will be preached in all the villages of the world.

Jayapatākā Swami: Hari Bol! So, this prediction of Lord Caitanya was the great inspiration for His Divine Grace Abay Caran Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupāda, He wanted to see that in every town and village of the world, His name will be broadcasted

Caitanya-Bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 4.127

pṛthivīte āsiyā āmiha ihā cāṅa
khoñje hena jana more kothāo na pāṅa

Jayapatākā Swami: “Coming to the earth, even I search for a person who searched after Me, but I have not found anyone who is searching for Me.

Purport by Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura: “My desire is that people should search for Me, but no one searches for Me. Therefore it is unbelievable that the Yavana king will forcibly take Me to his court.”

Jayapatākā Swami: So, most people are not looking for Supreme Lord, they aspire for some material benefit. Actually, the Lord is more anxious to someone who wants Him. Unfortunately, But unfortunately, Lord Caitanya says that He cannot find anyone searching for Him. So, this is a great opportunity to search for the Lord. The Lord will reciprocate, if one wants to see the Lord.

Caitanya-Bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 4.128

rājā more kothā cāhibeka dekhibāre?
e kathā sakala mithyā-kahila sabāre”

Jayapatākā Swami: “Why will the King want to see Me? I can tell all of you that such rumors are all false.” Lord Caitanya is disclosing why the Nawab Hussain Shah would not ask for Him.

Caitanya-Bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 4.129

bāhya prakāśilā prabhu eteka kahiyā
bhakta saba santoṣita hailāśuniyā

Jayapatākā Swami: After manifesting external consciousness, Lord Caitanya spoke to the devotees, and the devotees all became satisfied.

Caitanya-Bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 4.130

ei mata prabhu kata-dina sei grāme
nirbhaye āchena nija-kīrtana-vidhāne

Jayapatākā Swami: In this way Lord Caitanya passed a few more days fearlessly enjoying saṅkīrtana (the congreagational chanting of the holy name) pastimes in that village.

Caitanya-Bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 4.131

mathurāya gamana nā kariyā rāmakeli haitei dakṣiṇābhimukhe pratyāvartana—

īśvarera icchā bujhibāra śakti kāra?
nā gelena mathurā, phirilā āra bāra

Jayapatākā Swami: Who has the power to understand the will of Lord Caitanya? He did not go to Mathurā but returned back.

Some versions say that the Lord went upto Kānāi Nāṭaśālā, this version says that He went as far as Rāmakeli but in any case, He didn’t go to Mathurā, He went back.

Caitanya-Bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 4.132

bhakta-saba-sthāne kahilena ei kathā
“āmi calibāṅa nīlācala-candra yathā”

Jayapatākā Swami: Lord Caitanya said to all the devotees, “I will go to the place of Nīlācala-candra (Lord Jagannātha).”

Caitanya-Bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 4.133

eta bali' svatantra paramānanda-rāya
calilā dakṣiṇa-mukhe kīrtana-līlāya

Jayapatākā Swami: After speaking these words, the supremely independent blissful Lord Caitanya proceeded south while enjoying His kīrtana pastimes. So, on the advice of Rūpa and Sanātana, he didn’t go to Vṛndāvana with so many devotees, He decided to go just alone .
